The front desk staff were incredibly accommodating, and since I recently became a Bonvoy member, they upgraded me to a suite. The staff are amazing. I was immediately greeted upon arrival by many of the staff members and was offered help with my luggage but I declined. The front desk was friendly and polite. She was very kind and offered a room upgrade for free to a deluxe room with a partial ocean view. Now the room is where the ratings start to go downhill. The bathroom does not have a vent so it gets very steamy and it takes awhile for it to evaporate. The bathtub did not drain quickly so the water started to pool at the beginning of the shower. The fan in the bedroom hardly works. The low and high fan are practically working at the same speed and I didn't notice any difference. The room finally got to the desired temp after about 2-3 hours. The cabinet door to the fridge was broken at a hinge so we weren't able to access the fridge at all. Also, some of the channels on cable tv were not accessible. There is a $18 resort fee they charge upon arrival that caught me by surprise. I don't remember seeing this at the time of booking but I could've overlooked it. I really wanted to like this hotel, but the defects with the room were hard to miss. However, I did enjoy the amenities and the location. The positives about this hotel is the location, the lobby is clean and spacious, and the restaurant is good food and service. I arrived late after the restaurant closed, so I called earlier in the day and was informed that I could use my $18 credit for that day the next day. However, there was an issue on my bill and when I informed the front desk of the conversation, they indicated there were no notes on my file. My mistake to not take down the name of the person I spoke with. The room was alright, but we found it difficult to control the temperature well. There was no tissue and we had to ask twice within 3 hours for some to be brought to the room. The walls are thin and you will definitely hear noise from other rooms. There are other hotels that are better in the area, for a similar or a bit more so I think I would stay elsewhere next time. read more

Over all, a good hotel in a great location. Well kept up with very helpful staff. Room sizes were good and were clean. A bit odd that the bathroom don't have a vent. The tub was also slow to drain. Not a huge deal but added to some inconvenience. I had a discounted rate due to attending for a conference. I was toying with the idea of staying another night. By that time the group rate had expired. Odd thing was...the new advertised standard rate was near identical to the conference rate. It seems the conference organizers "discount rate" wasn't much of a discount at all. I'm not a fan of price games. I'm also not a fan of huge parking fees. $49 for parking. A near by hotel had parking for just $10, granted it wasn't nearly as good of a hotel. The pool and jacuzzi were nice. Always a little busy but manageable. Hotel restaurant was to be expected. Good food but over priced, which seems typical of most hotel restaurants. Over all a good hotel with some downsides. read more

Beautiful high-rise hotel near the water in Long Beach. We were going on a cruise so we decided to stay at the hotel the night before. It was very close to the cruise ship and the surrounding parking garages. We were gonna park at the hotel for our cruise however they were charging $50 a day for parking. There is a parking garage less than a half mile away for $16 a day. The hotel lobby is beautiful and check-in was a breeze. We even got a free upgrade to a high floor room with a beach view. The room was clean and spacious. My only complaint is that it is very dated. read more

The outdoor pool area was a surprise favorite -- peaceful, well-kept, and a great place to relax after a long day. From our room on the 12th floor, we have a clear view of the Queen Mary and the Lighthouse, and watching sunrises and sunsets from this vantage point never gets old. The hotel is also situated at the heart of Downtown Long Beach, which provides the perfect home base for a walking exploration of downtown. There are so many events going on in this vibrant city and there is something cute and surprising at every corner. The lobby renovation injected new life into the grand scale of the space. The room was clean and well-equipped, but the on-demand feature of the TV did not work. We turned the air conditioning off as soon as we got into the room because it's not really necessary with the pleasant weather. The mattress was comfortable, but the comforter was thick and heavy, almost like a weighted blanket. My wife loved it, but it was a bit too heavy for me. The pillows were airy and soft. We had breakfast at the Navy Proof, and the service was friendly and attentive. The omelets my wife and I ordered were decent, but I thought the egg was overcooked a bit. The worst part of this hotel is the parking. The layout is confusing and the space is cramped. It's too easy to scrape the car around a tight corner if you're not careful, and judging from all the scratch marks on the wall, many vehicles were damaged this way. read more

We stayed here due to a family wedding so we had a great room rate and check in was friendly and smooth. The room was adequate as it has most of the amenities you need like a safe, closet, ironing board, iron, refrigerator, desk, towel racks, drawers for your clothes, a one bottle of complimentary water. However, we were missing a computer chair for the desk and the only other chair was not suitable to sit at the computer. We called special express and they brought up a computer chair and extra bottles of water. We asked why we were only given one bottle of water and they said we can refill our bottles at the dispenser located next to the ice machine (which was temporarily out of order) but we needed another bottle since there were two of us. I guess they are trying to reuse plastic water bottles to fill up at the dispenser which is fine. The room does need to have more outlets to plug in our electric devices, as there are none near the bed. Other than that, nice view, good service from housekeeping. Please note no microwave in the room. We ate breakfast at the Navy Proof Food and Spirits, which is located in the beautiful and spacious hotel lobby and the food and service was great. As far as the fitness center is concerned, it is a good sized area located off the elevator on the 5th floor. There are plenty of machines and my favorite props such as stability ball, free weights and bosu ball, mats, small rollers, as well as a water dispensing machine, sanitary wipes, towels as well as fresh fruit after your workout. Being able to stay fit and healthy is important while I travel. There is valet and paid parking at the hotel. $45 for valet and $40 for self-parking. All in all, our stay was what we expected and I am happy they have a restaurant on site and fitness center. They just need to upgrade a few things in their rooms like the outlets for electronic devices as well as making sure there are at least 2 bottles of water and a computer chair at the desk. I'm a big fan of Westins in general. However this Westin location is probably my least favorite. The rooms are clean but look like something out of a Bruce Willis movie in the 90s. They definitely need to be remodeled. The gym is not up to Westin standards in my opinion and is probably one of the most disappointing hotel gyms I've ever been to. The pool was not the designer's brightest idea, both literally and figuratively. You see, the building itself is crescent shaped. The pool, on the 5th floor is nuzzled in that crescent, meaning you don't get as much sunlight as you should throughout the day. There are some positives, the biggest being the location. There's so much to do, see, eat, and drink throughout Downtown Long Beach and Shoreline Village. You can even take the water taxi during summer season to the other side of Long Beach from Shoreline. Also, the lobby has actually been remodeled and it's modern and spacious. Lastly, employees are helpful and nice. read more

I was here for a special event & the hotel is nothing short of fabulous. Parking in the underground garage was relatively simple (though I suggest heading down to P3 as many spaces on P1 & P2 are reserved) & the staff was very warm & helpful. My group dined in one of the ballrooms & the attention to detail was superb. Staff went above & beyond to ensure everything remained clean & organized, food & beverages were always fully stocked, & our needs were met. Our lunch buffet was outstanding! It's also worth noting that the surrounding area is gorgeous...this seaside hotel is in the downtown area with close proximity to the Long Beach Convention Center. The bathroom has mold/mildew growing on the grout lines and the rug in the room is stained and dirty The elevators are grimy too All in all this place needs an overhaul back to cleanliness and it wouldn't be bad Finally, as long as you stick the the main road you should be fine to walk. I stayed here the night of July 26 for an event nearby, and honestly, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was rude and condescending. I didn't catch the guy's name, but his name tag said he loves Beyoncé or something, but the attitude was unprofessional. We weren't allowed to check in until well after the listed 3 PM time, and were told that check-in is "at their discretion," which makes no sense. If you're going to price-gouge during a sold-out weekend, at least be prepared. But the worst part? The brown shower water. We got back to the room around 10 PM, ready to clean up and sleep, only to find the shower floor had a black sludge. When we turned the water on to rinse it, brown water came out. I called the front desk repeatedly for 45 minutes before anyone finally answered. I was told there were no other rooms and that I could wait for maintenance. It was nearly midnight at this point, and I was already undressed, so I had no choice but to shower in it. It was disgusting. I have no idea if it was rust, sewage backup, or what ..but no one at the hotel seemed to care. I booked this hotel expecting at least basic cleanliness and decency. I couldn't even take a proper shower, and no one made an effort to make it right. Wouldn't stay here again, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. read more

Came here for a Surge Trading event 2/13 to 2/15. The parking lot of this place is well lit, confusing signs and mostly compact spots. On 2/14, was directed to front desk on lobby to get parking validation. The man working at the front desk was extremely rude and condescending. He didn't acknowledge a customer waiting while he's doing his thing on the computer. While asking about parking validation, he looked at me like I'm an idiot, got all defensive and said they don't do validation. read more

Stayed here 3 nights for the convention in the area. The hotel was ok, the parking was extremely limited. They had an entire floor for valet and half a level for hotel guests it felt like. Once we parked, we just walked everywhere in fear of losing our spot for good. The beds here were the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I actually forgot to look at the mattress to see what the brand is. The shower head definitely needed to be cleaned and de-clogged. The stay was "OK". I was going to give 4 stars but our last night, someone from the staff had the nerve to tell us to keep it down in our own room. "We didn't receive any complaints from anyone, but I can hear you in the hall". Like bro.. obviously you can hear us right outside our doors. And no one complained... so bug off! BUT the bed was comfortable and the room was clean overall. I liked that it has plenty of outlets for chargers. I had a discounted rate due to attending an event... My mother and I recently stayed at The Westin for 4 nights. I was in town for a conference and we were able to get a discounted rate and connect our Marriott account. We had a room with two beds and a lovely view of the city and water. The room was quiet, clean, and spacious. The hotel offered a pool area. It was small, but worked fine. Rooms are super comfy and quiet. My room is clean. I slept so good in this bed. Restaurant is fantastic. But WiFi doesn't work, that's huge. I'm having to use my hotspot. I'd give 5 stars if the wifi worked. They have you log in with last name and room number. Doesn't work. Tried signing into my Marriott account which I did with success but then the page does keeps refreshing. It Never actually allow you to get on WiFi. So after restarting my devices and redoing all the options again and wasting almost 30 mins trying, I settled for my hotspot on my phone. They really should provide an ACCESS CODE for guest especially since the option is already there on the page. read more

Rip off. Booked a room for a Conference in November 2025 and paid for the room. When I arrived they told me the room had been cancelled. Why would I cancel a room I booked to attend a Conference and then show up for the Conference if I had cancelled the room???? They charged me $904.16 for the "cancelled" reservation and then I had to pay another $1882.92 to stay in the room. They lied to the travel agent and told her I would get a refund of my $904.16 on my February charge statement. No refund ever came. They are a complete rip off and I'll never stay there again. Came here for a conference. I previously stayed at Westin Anaheim before and because it was so good I decided to book Westin again. However it was a big disappointment. The drain in the tub looks rusty and I could feel biofilm in the bath tub while I was showering cuz I almost slipped a few times. The wall is extremely incredibly thin. You will hear everything from your next door neighbors like flushing the toilet. This guy next to my room was coughing all night. Was woken up at 2AM because of it and had to put on AirPods to be able to fall asleep again. Maybe he has a whooping cough or something which is not his fault but the wall is just super thin. I did have dinner on the first floor and it was quite nice. I was stuffed. Steak was supposed to be medium rare but the middle is kinda rare. It was also kinda salty but overall pretty good food. read more

I arrived at 10pm and my room wasn't ready. I wasn't the only one. I've never had that happen before when checking in so late, but it seemed they were still working to clean rooms. What keeps this a 5 star review is that they were quick to make it right and offered a significant amount of Bonvoy points. I ended up only waiting about 15 mins which was well worth the points. My room stay was very comfortable. The room felt large and the bathroom was modern. The overall hotel had a very nice feel to it! There are things I like about this hotel and things I don't. Likes: Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Large bathroom and lots of counter space - in some rooms, not sure what the difference is. I've had both. Location is great to several restaurants Great staff Dislikes: The price and then paying an additional $38 per night for parking. The parking in general is inconvenient- you have to go to a certain level of the garage for hotel guests, then ride an elevator to the lobby, then walk around the corner, then you can take the elevator to your room floor. The shower - I'm not a fan of the rainfall shower, I would much prefer a regular shower head with pressure. I stayed here for work and while it's a nice hotel in a great location, I prefer an air bnb or the courtyard in Torrance. read more

Honestly I can tell the employees really try to help you have a nice experience and the lobby is really pretty. But the rooms are extremely old and dirty. There are a bunch of hidden charges all over the place so by the time you are checking out it's double what you actually expected to pay. I don't know if it's the systems or the way they do things but the employees are not able to help or understand anything that's happening to be able to answer questions. read more

We stayed at the Westin during our visit to Long Beach, it's definitely five stars for the location. It's way to get around to some great spots whether you're walking or going a bit further out. The room was spacious, beds comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. However, while we were here our air conditioner unit would not cool the room to our desired temperature. We ended up turning it all the way down after experimenting with putting it to 68, 65 and then finally 60 (the lowest). While the room wasn't unbearably hot, we ended up sleeping without covers and got up multiple times in the night to see if we could fiddle with the air settings to cool it down anymore. Not the best night's sleep. We also noticed that while there was a mini fridge, it is a MINI fridge. A regular takeout box wouldn't fit without turning it on its side. Not ideal if you're hoping to have some bottles of water or enjoy leftovers during your stay. The bathroom seems a bit outdated which makes the tub seem dirty. I did appreciate that they have a waterfall shower head as well as a sprayer. While I probably wouldn't stay here again unless I knew our air conditioner worked properly, the location was really convenient. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here for several reasons. Centrally located. This place is across from convention/conference center, which was hosting some kind of comedian event that night. It is very close (couple blocks) from the metro, which is like $1.75 and goes all the way downtown in about 1 hr and 40 min. It is walking distance to restaurants and other places. Free HH and food credit. We got $25 credit every night to use at the hotel bar restaurant. Plus, you get a flight of beer or one tall glass complimentary for HH. Amenities. We also got (but did not use) 2 hours of bicycle rental at no cost. The hotel is well lit, bright, has high ceilings, and is welcoming. It has a gym and small outdoor pool with games. I recently stayed at The Westin Long Beach because it was walking distance to the Cali Vibes concert ('23) at Marina Green Park. It wasn't my favorite Westin, as service wasn't the super VIP service-oriented type I've become accustomed to from a Bonvoy property. But I always appreciate the touted Westin Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Shower. It did the job. Nothing more, nothing less. Well, maybe less in terms of great service. Seeking excellence doesn't seem to be a part of the culture here. No one was especially wanting to nor caring to satisfy; DMV vibes (from front desk to bellhop to valet service to Bluestone)....perfunctory, and that's it. If four star blasé attitude suffices, this is the spot for you! If your expectation is higher, I'd be inclined to try elsewhere. 3.5 stars, rounded up. read more

Very disappointing stay. We stayed 4 nights. 8-24 to 8-28. The valet and bellhop were the only good services we received during our stay. The lobby in this hotel is the only modern clean thing in the hotel. The rest of the hotel is extremely dated with very little accommodations. 1) Issue 1 was there was hair throughout the bathroom and the towels. Disgusting but we didn't complain to front desk. 2) Issue 2 was the bathroom door handle and shower head were faulty. The handle is broken and the shower head has so much calcium build up that it restricts the water flow. But again we didn't say anything because we were mostly away from the hotel all day. 3) Issue 3 was the most disgusting. The comforter on the bed was completely disgusting. Came to this hotel scrambling due to horrible experience and treatment from Hilton, i decided to come to the Westin, hoping they werent sold out, i was able to book. The check in was a breeze, even though my night started horrible Javier definitely took a step and provided great customer service at the front desk. Although, I had a bad experience with one of the staff entering my room unknowingly and i was getting dressed luckily my bf was at the door so he didnt come in. He apologize that they didnt communicate that someone was in the room but that couldve turned really badly. Even with that i was in a rush to go out so i couldnt make it as big as i couldve.
