I left a negative Yelp review a while ago. I left a message for the Manager several days ago who never called me back. I left a negative Better Business Bureau review still I've heard nothing and they took $1000 of my money out of my checking account for a one night stay that should've cost 270. I just tried calling the front desk to explain my situation and she hung up on me so I'm not quite sure what else to do but I highly suggest not giving this organization any of your business or any of your money. read more

Never in 1 million years did I ever think that I'd be writing a one star review for the Hampton Inn and suites in Seal Beach California. My wife and I visited on June 1 and left on June 10. We had made sure everything was paid in full prior to our visit we checked in at the front desk. The staff stated that We had no additional payment payments that we needed to pay. On the June 10, when we checked out, the staff said we had a zero balance. Unfortunately, when we got into Colorado, I received a notification on my bank statement that we were charged $442.56. When I called the hotel, the front staff stated that it was due to a system error and the system was having a hard time updating and that we had to pay that additional $442.56. The staff stated that they've been having issues with the system and it has been causing error for a lot of guest, but unfortunately, I was told I still had to pay that $442.56. I called my bank and disputed the transaction and the bank stated that the hotel was not budging and saying that I had to pay this amount. I've never had any issues with you guys before in the past. Is the first time I've ever had to deal with this. I am pretty upset about this. Never will I stay at this hotel again if you guys are gonna keep on doing this to me and other people. I will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau First thing tomorrow morning. read more

Pretty good hotel on the outskirts of seal beach....rooms were good enough but the towel was dirty before use and an old band aid was on the floor next to bed so how clean could it have really been??? Breakfast was okay at best, much of the same on a daily basis....thin walls when woken up by some noisy neighbors at 3:20 a.m. location is great, five minutes from seal, tan from HB and LB....service was okay but didn't really have much interaction...would return again if price were right but prefer the Ayres up the road when it's available and cheaper.... read more

I tried to fix an issue with my reservation inmediatelly after checking in by mistake. I tried the Hilton app, and calling the front desk. Finally called the hotel the next day and they claimed that "Sorry, you 'digitally checked in' and because of that there is nothing we can do about reinbursing you." Which is a lie because in other Hilton hotels I got reinbursements for all sort of things trying to keep a good client relationship. So, enjoy the money, I just want everyonento know what a bad client service to expect. Edit: I placed a complaint on the Hilton site and they, of course, refered it to the local management. This means the hotel managers have fill doscretion on reinbursements, they just gave me the "we can't do anything about ithe digital check-in" BS to get $200 from me. read more

The only reason I'm rating our stay four stars instead of five is because there was a little traffic noise from Westminster Boulevard (not terrible) and the room wasn't ready for check-in until 4:00 pm. However, in fairness to Hampton Inn, they were booked full the night before due to a double whammy of the first day of California State University Long Beach graduation ceremonies and Seal Beach's Gay Pride parade. And they offered free snacks while we waited in the lobby for our room to become ready. On the flip side of that we really appreciated the hotel's generous standard policy of a noon checkout time. The whole hotel was very clean: lobby, cafe, elevators, and room. Our stay was very quiet due to it being a Sunday night, which is typically the slowest night of the week for hotels. We'd booked the suite with king bed and whirlpool bath on the top floor. The tree tops provided a nice foliage view out the windows. Two layers of roll down window shades offered filtered light or full blackout. The bathroom was spacious. We didn't end up using the whirlpool bath but the dual head shower which features an overhead rain head and handheld wall mount shower was a nice surprise. If you don't have one at home (we don't) and have never tried one (I hadn't) it's worth experiencing, especially if you've been wondering about having one installed someday. Water pressure and heat were good. The shower itself was also spacious, a good 4'W x 5'L is my guess. I was told only the suites with whirlpool baths have the overhead rain shower by a young employee who inflected her answer like a question so maybe you should double check that. A great array of affordable eateries are on the hotel's parking lot: Del Taco, Subway, Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, Sunny Side Cafe, and and a Sushi/Poki Bowl place. The sushi place is only open Monday through Friday. Hampton Inn doesn't post their breakfast menu for the Seal Beach location online (at this writing). It included all the basic selections that will hit the spot. Scrambled eggs, sausage patties (which may become bacon strips on other days), muffins or scones, oatmeal with choice of brown sugar and dried cranberries, cold cereals w/milk, flavored yogurts, chopped fruit combo, whole fruits (banana/apple/orange), coffee, tea and juices (orange, apple and two others I don't recall). I don't remember if they offered waffles/pancakes. read more

Solid recent 2 night stay while in the Long Beach area for a conference. Hotel and room were both in very good condition except for the elevators which were a bit slow and creaky. Nothing was fancy but the room was clean and modern. Note that the room is on the smaller side and it's fine for 1-2 people but would be a tight squeeze if you are thinking of bringing the kids. Parking was easy and breakfast was fine for a quick bite. Think scrambled eggs, a sausage patty and a waffle made yourself with the pre-made mix. Coffee was hot and plentiful. Overall, I would say 3-1/2 stars and rounding up to 4. read more

My husband and i got this place for our anniversary We we're supposed to have the couple's whirlpool room but we got a double king bed lol we tried to cancel but the lady at the front said we have to go through expedia and refund is not guaranteed which i get same day cancellation pry won't get fully refunded. I didn't want to deal with it after all it was anniversary not a big deal I have what i wanted which is a happy marriage and that's what we were gonna celebrate regardless of the room mix up. Stayed here recently for several days. First time at this Hampton Inn. While there was nothing "wrong" with this hotel, I will choose to stay elsewhere on my next visit to OC (especially given the huge number of choices.) This Hampton Inn is easy to find, and quite close to major freeways. But, it's not that easy to get in to the parking lot and find parking. Hint: enter from Seal Beach Blvd, not from Westminster Blvd. Hotel is in good shape. The public areas look to have been updated somewhat recently, and all public areas and our room were in good working order. It is an older hotel; the controls for the a/c in the room were a bit spotty, and the rooms are smaller than newer Hampton Inns. We had no problems with our room; it was very average. The staff were friendly, although our interactions with them were very limited. Like all Hamptons, this one has the included daily breakfast buffet. This particular location has the smallest breakfast selection I've yet seen at a Hampton Inn. E.g. usually there are 3 hot choices (eggs, meat, potatoes), but this location only offered 2 hot choices. The breads, pastries, and cereal options were also very limited. What I had was decent, just used to a better spread at other Hampton Inns. At least the location is walking close to a Starbucks and a fast-food joint. And by walking close, I mean in the same parking lot. If you need a moderately priced hotel in the Seal Beach area, that is clean and you don't care about lack of frills, then I think this place would serve the purpose. Stayed here because there was a convention in nearby Anaheim so hotels in the area were upwards of $600 / night. Seal Beach was the closest area to Disneyland (within 15 miles) that was affordable, so I spent one night here, mid-week. This is an old school, standard-issue Hampton Inn. It has the very old, dated interior decor style, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the property will be renovated and updated. It's not run-down by any means, but the plain green carpet and dark furnishings give it a ho-hum feel. My ground floor room was clean and smelled fresh. The linens were in good condition and the bed was comfortable. I really love that the hotel still has the old INNCOM thermostats, which are easy to hack so you can keep your room super cool by doing a bypass setting on the motion detector (which normally means your a/c shuts off in the middle of the night while you're asleep -- just search online for instructions). Minus a star because the parking situation is really awful. The hotel shares a lot with several businesses, which means parking comes at a premium. It's free for hotel guests, but it may be difficult to find a spot if you arrive late at night like we did. There are several HHonors Diamond Member parking spots, but of course those were completely full. I'm a Diamond member and find it hard to believe there would be that many of my fellow elite members staying at that hotel, and I place the blame squarely on the hotel for not policing those spots. This always annoys me, but whatever. There isn't much around here, but this is a fine hotel for a one night stay. read more

Best hotel ever. Basic, but OUTSTANDING staff! Everyone is cheerful, helpful, and just plain nice. Housekeeping is diligent, breakfast service is standard Hilton but with a smile. Front desk is very attentive. I've stayed in many hotels, from fancy world-class to dumps, and this place is top of the list of good experiences. A few restaurants and coffee shops within steps, and very convenient to shopping with a 5-minute drive. Only complaint is that the hot tub gets frothy sometimes - but that's the fault of guests, not the hotel. read more

We have been staying here now for almost two months due to circumstances out of our control. The staff is awesome from the front desk to housekeeping. Friendly and polite. Our grievance is due to extremely poor tv quality. The guide doesn't work at all so you have to scroll through channels very slowly to find a show. You have no idea what you're watching or when it started as the guide says No Data at every channel. You can be watching a show and it will suddenly jump to the home channel advertising movies available for purchase! Then you have to find what you were watching all over again. This is a Hampton hotel owned by Hilton. You can do better! read more

This place has really gone down hill over the years. We had stayed here back before COVID started and it was decent and a nice place for an overnight. How times change. On our last visit, we were awakened at 5:45 AM by a large dog barking and yelping (no pun intended) in an adjacent room. I called the front desk to complain and they apologized and stated that they would address it. Almost two hours later of constant barking and yelping I called again. They said that they had called the room but that there was **no answer**. At this point I'm thinking, is it a service dog? Is the owner dead? I had no idea. My wife called the front desk again to complain. They told her that they could not locate the person that had rented the room but that they were offsite (they knew?) and they could not enter the room with the dog there because there was no one in the room! At this point we were like WTF? Is this a kennel? The dog continued through the time that we left (4 hours later) and we could hear the dog continue to bark and yelp as we walked out into the parking lot. And it was LOUD. How could they not hear this? I called Hilton corporate and they opened a case only to refer me back to the hotel management that offered nothing but an apology and no explanation as to why a dog was left unattended in a room. It is our belief that it must have been a hotel manager's pet that was in the room. What other explanation could it be? I guess this is as good as any since we got no explanation from the hotel management or Hilton corporate. I demanded that they refund my points (I'm a Hilton Honors member, a lot of difference that makes) but ultimately they only refunded half and stated that this was fair and that I should be satisfied, but I wasn't, and I told them so. They never responded thereafter. There was also a broken GFI receptacle in the bathroom that would not reset (buttons were frozen) and also had no power. Can anyone say shock hazard? Well, I guess you could if it have had power. It may have had power but was inoperative due to the buttons being frozen as they would not move when I tried to reset it. My wife went down to the desk earlier the night before to ask how to access the laundry room, how to use, etc. The person at the front desk was completely indifferent to her presence. Once my wife tried to interact with her they were completely rude and unhelpful. Should have been seen as a sign of things to come as the overnight and morning staff were just as unhelpful. Overall was just a horrible experience and we won't be going back there. Ever. read more

Centrally located to the town of Seal Beach and nearby a major freeway for commuting. 2. Nice rooms 3. Nice fitness center (when it's a non COVID environment and it's opened) Now why the -2 stars on the overall review: I have been staying here approximately every 3 months for the past two years on travel for work. Needless to say, I have stayed here many, many times. And every single time I have stayed here I have been provided a particular document by the hotel to facilitate my travel reconciliation. The last time I stayed here, the person at the front desk tried telling me they "never" provide that document and it is always the responsibility of the traveler to bring. This is simply not true, as the previous 7(ish) times I have stayed there it has ALWAYS been provided to me by the hotel. I told the person at the front desk, to which this person replied, again, the hotel never provides this document. Well being called a liar (either by omission or commission) is not something I generally take kindly to. As a result, I have decided to no longer stay at this hotel when on travel to Seal Beach and have opted for another Hilton nearby. All of my colleagues will no longer be staying here either. During my stay I had a nice welcoming from the staff! It was nice to meet wit them! The room was cozy and a bit small for my taste but it does have the essentials mini fridge microwave an extra sink! The bathtub was decent. Cleanness is ok but it could be better: the jacuzzi needs a serious update and cleaning and the pool was better but it needs renovation ASAP I like that check out is at 12pm and not 11am Free parking is great! But I would recommend more illumination by the parking area because at night it does get super dark and it made me a little nervous being there with my child. They don't have a pantry so make sure to bring water and snacks! Also I asked the front desk staff if I could purchase some and they denied my request which is ok but I have diabetes so in case I don't have any water they couldn't accommodate?? Not so convenient? I haven't had the chance to eat breakfast but it is nice to have it because it's free! I hope my review helps! read more

The Hampton Inn at Seal Beach is a newer property and both the outside and inside reflect that. Nicely manicured lawns and grounds. A nice looking pool and spa area, though the spa was under repair during my recent stay. Everything is clean and fresh. Through the double glass doors and lobby the front desk, is immediately to your left as you enter. All of the front desk staff I spoke with were both professional and friendly. Easy check in, it was quick and efficient. Check out was a breeze. And added bonus is the Digital key option you have a check in. This technology allows you to use your smartphone as your key via Bluetooth. Simply login to your Hilton Honors app and the front desk can issue you a digital key, I used this feature on my room as well as exterior doorways of the building and it worked perfectly. There are four floors to this hotel and my room was extremely quiet to outside noises. I booked a King Suite with a hot tub, a nice sized room with a wet bar at the entryway to the room, a comfortable chaise lounge sitting area, very comfortable king bed, work station and chair, a gigantic bathroom with a large walk in shower (two shower heads) separate toilet area. It was a great "home base" for my extended visit. Complimentary breakfast served daily 6-10 am., a decent selection of both hot and cold options, and it's hard to beat free. 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the great proximity to my destination. 00481 read more

My girlfriends and I needed a place to stay for an extended weekend. There are 9 of us in all and normally we stay some partyish place like Palm Springs or Gaslamp/San Diego. However, this year was also our high school class reunion so we wanted to stay near Seal Beach. I presented a list of 4 hotels to choose from; some on the sand some near the sand and this one that had a Del Taco on the parking lot. BINGO, done deal. I guess Del Taco was more important to have readily available than getting our toes in the sand at a moments notice. This hotel did NOT disappoint.... Del Taco or not. :) The nice, clean gym was used and enjoyed every morning, the pool (although a bit small) was perfect for us 40ish aged women and there's even a hot tub! Breakfast was a full hot breakfast, the WiFi had no issues and was FREE. Easy parking and also easy to find our way around to local stores and the beach. Not close to any restaurants really but there are a few places to eat on the same lot if hungry (Denny's and a strip mall with odds and ends, and of course Del Taco). The location of the hotel is a short drive from Seal Beach, Pavilions grocery store and many other touristy spots as well as the military facility and aerospace businesses. Staff was super friendly. We had a mini kitchen with microwave, fridge and sink. Lots of outlets for us girls to blow, curl and charge. Did not have any issues with noise at all... although we may have been the noise...?? If so, oops. Hallways are kept at meatlocker freezing and the rooms are either warm or Antarctic, no in between. Pull out bed was so ridiculously uncomfortable that I had to sleep on it as a couch. The ladies sleeping on beds slept wonderfully though. Really no complaints at all. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to others and I'd stay here again should I need a local hotel in the area. The hotel is weirdly located in the same parking lot as the strip mall that has a lot of vacant spaces and behind a 24 hour taco restaurant. I would say do not stay in rooms located by the street because all you hear is noise from the street and from the drive thru which drives me nuts. The staff is nice I had an issue with my tv and they sent someone to fix it right away. The hotel is pretty old and worn down definitely could use a face lift which is why they will be going through a renovation in November 19' which I'm sure it will be nice after because the room has a weird musty smell to it. Date for the memorial dedication for my 7 year old nephew who passed of brain cancer late 2023 was changed suddenly by his elementary school so more of the kiddos could be there. The school is down the street from the hotel. We stay at this hotel several times a year because it's close to my sister, but we no longer will (we have never asked for a late cancellation waiver). Worst night ever with the most disrespectful "neighbors" slamming doors and talking so loud we could hear every profanity through the walls and doors. It was as if they had a people coming and going all night long starting at 10:30pm-ish till the wee hours! We didn't get any sleep! Came here for a convention. We tried checking in early but they said only at 3pm so we went to the beach because it was close. We came back at 3pm & OMG everyone was checking in. It was packed with other guests as well. Like a soccer team or something came with a full bus. After everyone checked in we all had to wait for the elevator. They seriously had one/2 elevators for this huge hotel. They definitely need to add another. The room was okay. They do have room service every morning. There's a pool & a hot tub but didn't have time for that. The breakfast wasn't that great especially for the price you pay for the room. It's just the name. It has been a few years since my last stay, but I always return here when I am in the LB area. Always clean, very quiet, professional staff, fast food eatery right around the corner, plenty of parking, close to the freeways, and down the road from shopping and grocers. The recent upgrades to their rooms are nice: electronic room shades, new furniture, office desk, landing area for your luggage, new oval mirrors and a/c temperature units. Long Beach is my hometown, for I now live in Las Vegas, but you can't go wrong for the price and quality for your hotel stay. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! CROOKED STAFF! GENERAL MANAGER IS BAD! GM Marqueza is the most unprofessional manager as she hung up on me only after 11 minutes and only blamed me for her staff's poor behavior! Her staff changed my reservation dates to EXTEND MY STAY WITHOUT MY PERMISSION! They were allowed by Marqueza to abuse my credit card and charge an extra $242 (nightly rate was only $208 including all fees and taxes) just because they felt like it! Marqueza claims she was "justified" but I do not believe the hotel is allowed to just "charge away" on my card without my authorization. I hope the hotel owner David Chang sees this yelp review and contacts me because he needs to know his staff are illegally charging customers which gives him and his hotel a bad reputation! Hotel staff attempted to gaslight me and claimed that I made the reservation for 4 nights. Luckily, Hilton.com emailed me a copy of my original reservation for 3 nights. Hotel staff also claimed I didn't check in digitally, but GM Marqueza confirmed I was checked-in digitally, but since the staff could not "see" the check-in, I had to hire a nanny to watch my child so that I could check-in in person when this was not necessary. The hotel staff have inconvenienced me greatly! GM Marqueza also claimed "there was no phone number to call me" and there is no phone number field in the Hilton app (I took screenshots for documentation), but as a Hilton Hotel, they should have looked up my Honors account to find it. GM Marqueza and her staff are lazy and provide poor excuses for not doing their jobs properly. David Chang needs to fire these staff members (only Markus was good as he listened and was kind and did not hang up unnecessarily...he should be the GM instead!) read more

Came here to meet my uncle, who was coming in from out of town for two days. I got to the hotel about 15 minutes early, Cynthia at the front desk wouldn't let me wait in the lobby for my uncle. When I asked if I could at least use the restroom while I waited she said no, claiming she couldn't find my uncle's reservation. This callous treatment inspired my uncle to instead stay at the Ayres hotel instead. The location is good and the service is friendly but the furnishings and decor are starting to show their age but it was clean. Our room was really large and had a lot of empty space. We were disappointed to find their was no fridge and even more disappointed to find the coffee service tray was kept in the bathroom on the counter by the sink and toilet. Luckily there is a Starbucks in the plaza along with a Subway, Del Taco and an Asian rice bowl place. They offer the traditional Hampton Inn free breakfast and there is plenty of seating in the area to sit and watch some tv while eating. Got back to the hotel with the kids around 1 am. AC didn't work at all. Didn't want to turn on. Thermostat was messed up or something. Called front desk told them about the problem. He literally said "I can't do anything about it because we have no one to fix that right now" I mean common I paid $250 for this room with no ventilation. So anyways I went to the front and asking for other alternatives. He said his manager won't be in till morning, which he never did. So while at the lobby I saw this tower fan behind him and asked him if I can borrow the fan instead just to circulate the air inside the room. Take note hotel windows can't be opened now a days. It was hard to breath inside especially if you have anxiety like I do. He let me borrow the fan anyways. It's just frustrating that I paid for room to feel relaxed with my 2 boys. But it was totally the opposite. And they didn't even offer me anything to maybe accommodate to the bad experience. Hopefully this would not happen to you.
