Great stay at the Downtown Marriott in Long Beach. The location is excellent -- walking distance to the waterfront, restaurants, and everything you need. The views are beautiful, the rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. The Marriott Rewards program really makes it top tier and adds extra value to the experience Would definitely stay here again.

This is for the Local Currant Bar inside the MLB. Excellent drinks, good food. Awesome service by Christina. Highly recommend.

Accommodations Very nice. Room was very clean and smelled that way! Bed was comfortable and linens/bedding were soft and warm enough. Pillows were great! No obvious stains on the carpet. Bathroom was clean and well designed. Towels were clean and fresh. There was an in room safe and a handheld clothes steamer. Classy. It was nice to have a refrigerator and there was an area on the floor with ice, a water refill station, and a microwave. Really appreciated not having to go down to the lobby to reheat leftovers. The walls are a little thin but not a problem with earplugs lol. Love the window seat where I enjoyed a cabernet nightcap. Love that the location was central to restaurants and pretty good food trucks. Parking Self Parking is $45 per day and the garage is accessible. I believe valet parking is also available. Bar Hotel has a bar in the lobby. A glass of Cabernet was $22 with tip (approximately) but it was really good. Market The on-site Market had Starbucks coffee daily that was included in the stay, and it was delicious and hot! Service Housekeeping, bar, Market, and front desk staff were professional and helpful. Would stay again anytime.

The hotel is centrally located & perfect for a weekend or business stay. The lobby is bright & inviting with a full service bar & breakfast service area. A small Starbucks is present in the side lobby area. My room was on the 8th floor & the views were great! The bed & bedding were very comfortable, but the air conditioner lagged some during the warm evening.

My husband's "screwdriver" & my off-menu "dirty little hot chocolate" ;)

My husband came back from the East Coast and because his company pays for travel, he chose to stay here & we had a mini staycation for a week, starting on Valentine's Day. (This is WAAAAAAY nicer than the Hilton by the freeway.) The room is so nice with great lighting (I would've preferred pool or ocean view or a bathroom with a soaking tub but it had a cute window seat & the king sized bed is so comfortable!) The weather was crazy and throwing a tantrum with winds and storm but the guards were so nice, the front desk was nice, the room service and staff are all amazing, the coffee shop staff were sweet, the bar tender was amazing, the restaurant staff was great too! Everyone here was great! Shout out to Robert, the bar tender & his mustache! I came over with my husband wanting a hot chocolate but with alcohol before we went out for the night. He whipped up something sooooo good: I think it was hot chocolate, vanilla vodka, Bailey's & Kahlua? With whipped cream! Omg! An orgasm in my mouth! It's not on the menu but we're calling it the "Dirty little hot chocolate" so you can ask for that if you see Robert and mention me and he'll whip it up for you. ;) Shout out to the room service and the cleaning staff! Y'all are such hard workers! Thank you for always making our bed, changing our sheets & towels and lining our shoes up and even putting our toothbrushes on clean towels & lining up our toiletries! Big tip coming your way! Oh! The gym is decent too! Very important in a hotel! The hot tub and the heated pool were refreshing! Maybe more enjoyable when the weather isn't so windy but who can refuse a hot tub soak to decompress after work? All in all, totally worth the stay! Only thing I wish I could add is a spa with facials, massages, etc but this gives people opportunities to support local businesses so that's ok. Thank you guys!

Great experience at the Marriott Long Beach. Super convenient location directly across the street from the convention and boardwalk. Beautifully renovated with quality furnishings. Love the on-site coffee shop with Starbucks. Recommend their pastrami sandwich. The restaurant bar and restaurant is also worth checking out. Spacious gym. Fun pool and hot tub area. Self-service parking available with the attached parking ramp. Beautiful views of the downtown area and ocean.

**currently undergoing renovation 7/4/2024*** Pros: Location is excellent. Customer service is fantastic. Rooms are spacious and clean. Parking garage is easily accessible. Card key requires to operate elevator to rooms. Breakfast, alcohol, and snacks available for purchase. Overall, would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend. Cons: parking is $45/night, you can hear the noisy streets at night, they have some hidden fees that can be used as credit for certain items

The Marriott Long Beach downtown is in a nice location, close to the beach and within walking distance of many restaurants. Unfortunately, the Marriott itself has only one dining location, called Local Current, and that is next to the lobby. Here you can get breakfast lunch and dinner via a limited menu. Nothing impressive. There is no big lobby space and there is limited staff everywhere, including the reception. Getting a bell boy to help with luggage was a chore. There is parking in the hotel structure, but you have to pay daily. There is a market store for coffee or to pick up limited fast eats, juices, soda and water. There is a pool onsite. The rooms are well maintained but the hallways are narrow. The 4 elevators moved fast and minimized wait time. Prices to stay here are high, compared to the competition, where in addition, you get much more, in terms of amenities and facilities.

I put a lot of trust in their word since they've previously stayed at this specific hotel a few times and they choice was perfect. Driving from the bay to Southern California was a whole trip in itself with two kids and the last thing we wanted to do was to rush the moment we got in the car and into the hotel. That being said, we decided to stay two nights prior to embarkation day. We wanted to walk in, get settled after the 7 (=/-) hour drive and relax. The hotel had everything we needed - a full kitchen, a clean and perfectly running shower, clean and comfortable beds and a wonderful view. The proximity of the hotel to the port was perfect. All eight of us were able to get our belongings together and not stress on getting parking. The continental breakfast was great as well. The staff was beyond amazing and during one of our nights we were able to watch the UFC fight downstairs in the lobby with a crew of construction workers. One of the staff attendants gave my girls crayons and coloring paper. She sat down and helped them with their art and it was honestly precious.

Just keep in mind this is a nice hotel, so high prices are to be expected. Anyway, the room was clean and beds were comfy, but what I really loved was that they had a MagSafe charging stand with Apple Watch charging along with many power outlets. Overnight self parking was about $50 which is standard for the location. The employees I spoke to were super nice, plenty of restaurants nearby. We'll definitely be coming back!

It definitely felt more like the kind of place you'd stay when you're 18-21 and looking to party, rather than a comfortable hotel for a relaxing stay. Check-in itself was easy and the staff was pleasant, but unfortunately, the property was a major disappointment. There were numerous stains on the carpets, and the elevator had what appeared to be melted ice cream on the floor. When we entered our room, there was a strong musty/moldy smell. The sheets also smelled musty. Stain on sheets. The room had an outdated popcorn ceiling, and the bathroom was especially disappointing. The tile was very dirty and visibly old, and the bathtub was dirty and heavily scuffed. For the price, this property is definitely on the lower end of what we expected. We ultimately decided we did not feel comfortable staying and requested a full refund because we simply wanted to leave. That said, we are grateful that management did grant us a full refund. I do appreciate them making that right, but based on the condition of the property, we unfortunately would not stay here again.

The coppery exterior and surrounding landscaping looked sharp on arrival. Valet was prompt and helpful with luggage. I arrived early. They offered a room immediately but said waiting a short time would get me a better one, so I left the bags with bell service. Like every other hotel I've stayed at, they said they would call when the room was ready. They never did. I had to return to the front desk and ask. It was ready. This has happened at every property that makes the same promise. I actually have a dedicated hundred dollar bill sitting lying dormant in my wallet awaiting the first hotel employee that actually calls me when my room is ready. It will be all theirs when they do; and I will recognize them for being the first ever to have done so in my personal decades of staying in hotels...! The room was nicely done and elegantly decorated. The linens were excellent and the bed was comfortable. I had a city view rather than water, which was fine. Public areas (lobby, bar, restaurant) ran warm in the summer with the large glass and cavernous volumes, but the room air conditioning worked decent and kept a good room temperature. One detail I really appreciated and wish more hotels would incorporate: a filtered water station next to the ice machine. Location worked well for the business meetings I had the next morning. I've been a long-time Hilton Diamond member, but Marriott properties like this one are starting to pull me over on overall quality. We had heard concert parking was horrible and decided to make it easier. We booked the room over a month in advance and there was no warning given about on-site Queen Mary parking. A day or two before our trip, we received an email saying that there would be no on-site parking for hotel guests and we'd have to be shuttled to and fro an off-site location a little over a mile away. This was pretty irritating since the entire point of booking this and spending money on a hotel room was to make parking easier. We wrote back and expressed our discontent only to be met with a "sorry but it is what it is"...just more professionally worded. We got there to park and were able to get on a shuttle. Check in was fairly smooth although we were informed we could not control the AC and so if we needed a fan to call.As soon as we got there I called for a fan because it was 90 degrees and I knew I'd need one--the fan came quickly, but I don't like that you have zero AC control...that is a hotel room perk. The room itself was larger than you'd expect from a boat, and it didn't feel dirty, but it is is desperate need of upgrades. The walls were scuffed, the tile grout brown, toilets and sinks very outdated, etc. The bed itself was very firm, but sleepable and the pillows were fine. However, the walls, or maybe the door area was paper thin and we were woken up the next morning several times starting at 6:45AM with other guests who were so loud that it felt like they were in the bed next to us...and not in a sexy way. About 90 mins before the concert, we went to the Observation Bar for drinks and food. We were seated with the manager saying their "world class service would be with us shortly"...The service was horrendous and he and I are certainly not living in the same world if what we got is world class. She took forever and never checked on us. The drink options were limited, but when we finally got them, they were OK. I also ordered the baked brie that came out cold and the sliders were only OK. We never got to have another round of drinks because it took over an hour to get the first round of drinks and 2 food items. We finally had to get up and ask for the check so as not to be late to the concert and when they asked how everything was and we told them the truth, the manager essentially just looked at us and walked away. Super helpful! I saw many other servers scurrying around and looking helpful, so I think our waitress was just terrible...and living in her own little world...probably the same one the manager is living in. Later after we had left to the concert, my husband left the concert line to run back to the hotel and put stuff in the room that we bought and his key didn't work. So we had to wait for them to fix that which made him late getting back and we missed part of the early entry we had paid extra for. We called for a late checkout the next morning because we had the Royal Brunch booked for 11am (which is check out time) and we had all of our stuff, plus our concert stuff that we had planned on running out to the car, but couldn't do because they wouldn't let us park there. We were told they had no late checkouts left and to check it with the bell service. We went down at about 10:45 to drop off our stuff with the bell service and the line was ridiculously long and not moving whatsoever. There is no way we weren't going to miss our reservation if we waited in it, so we went to the brunch with all of our bags and asked if they could give us a table where we could lay out our posters, etc. A manager of some kind, Andy, overheard this and offered to lock up our items in a closet right there--he was truly one of the only helpful people in the Queen Mary. The brunch itself was delightful. The food and service were excellent and while I would never stay over at the Queen Mary again, I would certainly attend the brunch again if we could park onsite. Finally we went out to the front to get back on the shuttle in the blazing sun and the line was in the direct sunlight and there was no shuttle in site. I asked people who had been there how long they had been waiting and they said over 20 minutes. I'm sorry, that's unacceptable. You didn't give appropriate notice that we couldn't park onsite, the line is in the sun, and now people have to wait over 20 minutes in 90 degree heat to get back to our cars? I asked the person working the little podium where the shuttle was and he said they were coming every 15 minutes. I told him that was clearly untrue and he radioed them and one showed up about 6 minutes later. I would never stay here again. Too many things went wrong to waste the money. Stay somewhere else, and just eat at the royal brunch. Also, we were offered nothing but "free parking"...
