    Back room for events

Went here for a 30th bday and the theme was roaring 20's so this place was an awesome pick as it has that swanky prohibition vibe. We had the back room which has some stairs that goes down another level to a cigar room that was accessible when you pushed the mirror, kinda cool! The food was catered in and any drinks had to be paid with credit card, but both were great! Off the beaten path of the Long Branch beach front but they distill their own booze and it's definitely worth a visit... or two, or...!

This place is awesome! Found it by accident, I haven't seen it written up in NJ magazine which is wrong. They have great vodka, gin, bourbon and rye. They have a mixologist that makes amazing different drinks, unique and excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and has a back room for you to hang with your friends and family. It's a must to go there!

    Yummy old fashioned!

Such a great hang. Nice people and great drinks. Byofood makes for a very lovely evening. Highly recommend cocktails or straight up! Or try a flight to sample them all.

I remember drinking the pear vodka cocktail in 2022 and was so happy to see it on the menu when I returned this year. The vibe is low key, friendly and very comfortable. We snagged some bar space during the event and our bartenders were friendly, welcoming and were very knowledgeable about the different liquors and distillery. Shout out to Tina and all the mixologists. My favorite one is the pear: pear nectar, ginger beer, pea vodka and cinnamon. I also loved the lychee cocktail. If I had ubered, I would have tried more sadly. They don't serve food but you are allowed to order in and there's even a pizza place right across the public entrance. You can park across the street in the municipal lot for free. if I lived closer, I'd be at the Garden State Distillery a lot!

I ordered a plethora of cocktails, including the old fashioned, Manhattan, paper plane, and negroni. All arrived in frosted glasses - a nice attention to detail. The old fashioned featured brown sugar syrup,.which rounded out the palate well. The Manhattan tasted well spiced - herbal but not overwhelming so. I also ordered a dozen oysters ($2 ea). These proved light on brine and extra fresh. I found no errant shell pieces. The lemon arrived sleeved, and the mignonette was a smoky chipotle. The happy hour price point is almost criminally cheap here. Sunday also has the happy hour menu.

Tucked into a classic NoHo spot on lower Broadway, the place hits the mark on ambiance--think warm lighting, sleek wood, and custom copper stills glowing right in the background. The drinks are the main event, and the Old Fashioned is every bit as smooth and well-balanced as advertised, complete with custom-branded ice as a sharp, deliberate detail. Pair it with a solid menu at the bar, and it's an easy go-to whether you're grabbing a quick late-afternoon drink or settling in for the evening. It's polished without feeling overly stuffy, bringing genuine craft back into the neighborhood.

Like the brewpub, Silk City Distillery had been on my wish list, and it was not until I arrived at Ghost Hawk that I noticed that they were adjacent to each other, allowing me to check both off at once. The tasting room was adorned with barrels that were holding their vast selection of spirits, such as bourbon, whisky, rum, gin, vodka, and more. They also offered a handful of regular and high-top tables, which we were easy to obtain on that afternoon (given the outdoor options as well), but typically reservations were recommended. Though the seating was comfortable, the temperature was not. In fact, it was freezing in there, and we, along with a lot of other parties, switched tables multiple times to find the best fit. We approached the counter to order from their lengthy cocktail list, which included standard and more custom cocktails. I decided on their rendition of a Lime Rickey, asking for it to be made with their gin. The tart, sour, and sweet drink was light and refreshing. I enjoyed each sip so much that I wound up getting a second round. While many distilleries offer a few types of alcohol and a handful of cocktails, the Silk City Distillery went above and beyond with their vast array of options. Any connoisseur should enjoy the place!

We did a quick search, saw Jersey Spirits Distilling and decided to give it a try. I would have never known it existed since it's tucked in the back of an industrial complex. From the outside, it looks small, but it's pretty spacious inside. When we were seated, our server gave us a brief history of the distillery. I love that it's family-owned and all of the ingredients are locally sourced from NJ. There are so many different cocktail options, and some of them were so creative in their presentation. Since I was having a difficult time deciding, I went with the Espresso Martini flight. It came with a Traditional, Pistachio, and Jelly Ring martini. I also ordered a cookie butter martini. My favorite was definitely the creamy pistachio martini. I am so happy to have discovered Jersey Spirits Distilling and can't wait to visit again soon!
