After a four hour drive down from Rhode Island, my partner and I pulled into Red Bank and made a beeline for Triumph Brewing Company on Bridge Avenue. Sometimes you just need a cold beer and a bite, and Triumph delivered on both fronts. The space itself sets the tone nicely. Raw wood beams, big glass garage door-style windows flooding the room with light, and a mix of modern and rustic that somehow manages to feel like both at once. Green plants are positioned throughout, around the bar and seating areas, adding just the right amount of warmth throughout. The space is generous too; a large bar anchors the room with plenty of big tables spread throughout. It could clearly handle a crowd. It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in. The service matched the vibe. Our bartender was attentive from the start, and at one point a second bartender passing by stopped to check if we needed to place an order. When we told him we were already taken care of, he smiled and moved on. Small moment, but it says something about the culture of a place. I started with the Baltic Porter, a solid pint, dark and roasty with that smoothness the style calls for. Good, but it was the second beer that really got my attention. I noticed the bartender working a hand pump and knew right then I'd be having their Pub Ale next. That's the real deal right there; a true cask pour is a rarity, and this one showed why it's worth seeking out. The ale was alive in a way you just don't get from a CO2 tap, soft carbonation with layers of flavor that opened up as it warmed slightly in the glass. It was genuinely awesome. For food we kept it light, a couple of snacks to set ourselves up for the rest of the evening. My partner had the falafel; fresh, nicely seasoned, with real crunch and plenty of accoutrements to keep things interesting. It was exactly the kind of bite that tides you over without weighing you down. I went with a special: Weisswurst. It was juicy and flavorful; served on a nice bun with mustard and the expected trimmings. My only gripe was the portion size, could've used just a bit more sausage. The real surprise was the side of housemade chips, which were exceptional. The kind of thing you find yourself reaching for long after you've finished everything else. Second time that I visit Triumph Brewery. The first time was mostly drinks and last night was for dinner and drinks and to listen to live music. The place is really pretty and has two floors and a really nice vibe. The music was really great. It was this kind of sexy lounging jazzy type of music. The trumpet player was really good. The band's name was Red123 and I am a fan. We sat and ordered food at the bar and our bartender was great. The other two guys were equally as nice and personable. Now the negative. Although it's considered a brewery, they do not have flights. So keep this in mind when you do visit. I ended up have the Czech dark beer, which was good. It was a large amount as well. My friend had one of the Pilsners and it was pretty good as well. The food for me wasn't that great. I ordered baked oysters with breadcrumbs and bacon on top and it was to be shared with my friend. Unfortunately, the oysters were not cooked thoroughly because they were still kind of slimy and soft and not hot and they did not taste baked. I was OK with it because I do eat raw oysters, but she does not eat raw fish so she didn't have any. I also ordered a Cubano sandwich listed as containing braised pulled pork, Swiss cheese and ham with Bavarian mustard with thinly sliced pickles on the side. I ate half sandwich and it tasted ok. However, for the second half of the sandwich, I decided that I just wanted to eat the insides and not eat the bread. Unfortunately, the pulled pork that was in the sandwich was tasteless and very dry. I do cook roast pork as well as pulled so I know what it's supposed to taste like. I did not notice it at first because the dressing on the bread masked the bland taste of the pork. I did not continue to eat the pork and only ate a piece of the ham and the cheese. The food was mixed with the House-Made Pretzels - Caraway, whole-grain mustard, ale cheddar cheese dip and Hummus - Pickled vegetables, roasted pepper and walnut dip, feta, pita being better than the Blackened Grouper - Coconut-curry aioli, pickled red onion salad, toasted ciabatta, Old Bay chips. Wow! A beautiful brewery both inside and out! The first thing I noticed was the brewing area is enclosed in glass which is a great feature as the beer making process is filled with a ton of smells that aren't always pleasant this eliminates the smell coming into the restaurant. We were seated in the upstairs balcony area which had a great view of the brewery and the downtown area. Service was both prompt and efficient. We ordered some drinks and their house made pretzel bites. They were buttery and delicious and a different texture from a normal pretzel. Loved their beer cheese sauce and stone ground mustard. I ordered the passion fruit spritz mocktail which was delicious and refreshing for this hot summer day. My boyfriend ordered their haze project #29 and absolutely loved it as well as it had a citrusy pine flavor profile. Next time we are in the red bank area I can't wait to come back for a full meal here! This is actually my third visit here and still a very nice place to hangout with friends and family. This time we had as starter their house-made pretzels with whole-grain mustard and ale cheddar cheese dip. I had for the main their Cubano sandwich with braised pulled pork, ham and cheese pickles and plantains on the side. I also had their Spelt Saison Belgian pale ale. Part of the reason we strolled in for dinner is because dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area, which is always a plus in my book. I've heard good things about Triumph and wanted to see for myself. We enjoyed our time at this upscale brewery, as did our pups. We were welcomed and seated promptly and all of the staff welcomed our pups as well. There were many elevated dinner items to choose from. Our meal consisted: the hummus app, Thai Peanut Smoked Brisket sandwich, and Ratatouille. I don't often see Ratatouille on restaurant menus so I knew I had to get it! It was delicious and flavorful. Everything was super fresh, especially the vegetables included with our meal. The sangria and the hot honey old fashioned were also great. We tried this restaurant last night, we ordered fish snowy grouper and NY steak , Caesar salad and desert . Our server was very nice and friendly lady , everything seemed very good. The food was overly salty , we still ate and still enjoyed our dinner. 2-3 hours later I started feeling sick and in an hour I threw up 6 times . My night turned to nightmare! An impromptu lunch in the Red Bank area led me to Triumph one Saturday afternoon. I've been to the New Hope location so I was excited to try it out. I love how bright and clean this place is and the friendliness of the staff. They really make you feel welcome. They have a great selection of beer and cocktails along with an elevated brewery menu. I had the blackened grouper sandwich which was excellent!! The grouper was so flavorful and paired so well with the cucumber and pickled onion salad on top. The old bay chips it was served with were also perfect. Light, thin, and seasoned perfectly. Not greasy at all, you can tell these were homemade. Food was okay, but both hamburger and salmon BLT had unusual sauces on them that neither person particularly liked and felt it detracted from a good hamburger and BLT. Service was excellent. Prices were expected Red Bank-high, and $18.00 for a glass of sangria (which is, when you think of it, wine with juice and soda water) was pushing it. I bet this place is great to have a beer, but none of us had one. Wish the prices were a touch more reasonable, and the various sauces used in sandwiches were explained a little better. read more

We sat in the back and liked the seating where you can sit next your partner-but watch out for the steps down! An older gentleman next to us nearly tumbled down the steps going to bathroom. Stopped in here for a quick drink after eating dinner in the area. They have a decent size beer menu but unfortunately not much that I like. No sours and the cider they had was out. I ended up getting a lighter ale and my friend got the sangria. Both were good but not what we were in the food for. The design of this place is so clean and industrial - I love it. There are tables for big parties and small, a big bar area, seating upstairs, and an area in the back for real dining. They have garage door type windows that roll up in the summer with greenery that lines them. We also came in on a night a band was playing which was a vibe. A unicorn among microbreweries, Triumph's menu does justice to their beers making it a place where a teetotaler could actually enjoy a meal without feeling like a pariah among the pours. All three of their locations, including Red Bank have an open, upscalia feel like you might be kicking back with Jeff and Elon in their Aspen hideaways (of course, they wouldn't be caught dead with any of us.). The beer is excellent although I am partial to their Pilsners and IPA's, as I don't particularly find a full draught of Mrs. Butterworth's at all refreshing. Their burgers are top notch as is the Grouper but you'll find enough variety to keep everyone happy. One demerit for being extremely crowded, loud and priced appropriately for the zip codes involved. Red Bank is a winner especially because the Princeton location is being moved and, call me crazy but I can't stand the premeditated artifice of New Hope (the town) under any circumstance. On second thought, I'll give Red Bank a five. read more

Drinks were deliciously made especially spicy margaritas. Mocktails, though not many on the menu, equally delicious!! This place is not trying to pass off an Arnold Palmer as a "specialty" drink. The building aesthetically is extremely pleasing. The main area has an open balcony and gives great acoustics. You can sit far away from the stage and feel like you're sitting next to the music; but it can be quite loud. The outside seating has plenty of shading and is very spacious. Definitely great for large parties. As for service.... Waitress was extremely professional and lovely. One of our table guest ordered an additional drink 45 min before they were closing. Although they had already started cleaning up since we were the only people left eating. I'm mixed here because if I was in their position I would have started to clean too but the bartenders started to mock my friend for ordering a drink (as they were cleaning). I felt the act of mocking was extremely unprofessional and though the drink still tasted good (obviously) it was missing the spicy rim and such. It's like they are trying to change their identity. In the past I would have described it as an upscale burger place with some fish on the menu with some heartier food if you wanted that. Last night my daughter and I ordered the special which was cod on top of escarole. No rice and no fries, no salad. My husband ordered the ribs. I'm sorry but four ribs for a man is just not enough food. And they were dry. The host made it his personal business to talk my daughter into a different beer than what she ordered the first time even though she was happy with it. The beer he recommended was not as good as the first one and why try to talk her out of it? He commented to my husband that he must have loved the ribs because they were gone. No, he was hungry and that's what he ordered. Another weird thing was when we were leaving I was meeting my husband and daughter at the front of the restaurant while they used the restroom and the host asked me if I needed to be seated. (Don't you recognize me from the ridiculous amount of time you spent at our table talking to us out of the beer we wanted to order?) The waiter was frazzled and was actually running away when he finally got back to ask us if we wanted anything else but he just started so he gets a pass. Extra points for arriving during happy hour (4-6pm every day). I was expecting finger food and brews, but I am glad I was wrong. The food is of great quality and taste and the service was quick and friendly. I ended up taking 2 64oz growlers home. The salmon was perfectly smoked and salty, and the lamb stew felt like made at home. Highly recommend trying their beers, they are great. The menu is small, but everyone found something to their liking. I don't drink beer, but the brewery is set up so you can see it, which is cool. Everyone seemed to enjoy the beers, and my cocktails were good and not skimpy on the liquor. Would have given 4 stars, but no one was wearing a mask including servers, so that sort of freaked me out. I love going to breweries and was in the area so wanted to give this brew-pub a shot. I didn't order a meal so I can only comment on the atmosphere and drinks. Triumph Brewing has a modern and contemporary vibe. It was a chilly night but I can imagine that the brew pub opens the windows when the weather is nice. It looks like a great place to hang out with friends or listen to music. The place has live music from Thursday through Saturday and there's no cover. I was lucky enough to visit and listen to the live music from a local band. There's quite a selection and variety of drinks to choose from. I ordered multiple 5oz beers to sample the various IPAs and ales that were on tap. My favorite was Haze Project #16 which is New England Style IPA with a citrus, tropical hints, and juicy flavor. There seemed to be a style for every palatte. Triumph Brewing also had beer to go in growlers. I recently visited Triumph while in the Red Bank area because I love checking out local breweries. The interior is darker and has a nice upscale feel, but not in a way that you feel out of place in casual clothes. They had many great beer options from the in house brewery (very cool to see the tanks and equipment on the upper level!). I really enjoyed the biere de campagne, it was unique and really great. It is served in a bottle, so you aren't able to do tasters, but it's definitely worth it. For a meal I ordered the venison sausage appetizer, which was plenty of food for myself. The sausage was delicious and extremely flavorful, and I loved the onions and sauerkraut it was served with the. The bread was also delicious. The bartender we had was great, and was extremely attentive to anything we needed. I would definitely be back soon if I was in the area more, and this is a spot definitely worth checking out for anyone who hasn't been yet. I wish I knew this spot was here sooner! read more
