This was my first and last experience at long dog fat cat. I took my dog here because we're moving out of town and he's quite anxious and not happy with his food. I thought this place could recommend a mild diet that might appeal. I also needed a new harness. I arrived a couple of minutes early with my Japanese Chin, and seeing me outside, they were kind enough to open the doors. I wasn't greeted when I came in. I said hi and they smiled. There were four people working there. I walked around the store, waiting to be approached by an attendant for help because they appeared so busy. This didn't work, so I stood next to the four of them and listened to their chatter for a couple of minutes hoping someone would say "can I help you"? I was the only customer in the store. After a few minutes of listening to their chatter and not being offered any help, I left. I guess they don't need my business. read more

What a great drop-in spot for those rare delicacies when you're needing to treat your copilot!!! Sydney and Princess brought their humans to work. One of them was mopping and keeping things clean while the other tended the till. I love this shop! I've been buying my dogs' and cat's food from here for a couple years now. Tons of great quality and healthy selections of food and treats for pets. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Plus they hold adoption events with local rescues occasionally! I recently started using their grooming services and I have to give a big shoutout to Katrina! She's awesome! One of my pups, Scout, needed a summer haircut and she is very nervous around new people. Katrina was so sweet and patient with her, it didn't take long for Scout to warm up to her. She did a great job with Scout's haircut - and even trimmed a little more from her tail where she had some matted fur. I took Scout back in yesterday to get her nails trimmed and Katrina remembered her right away and was just as great as the first time. I highly recommend her as a groomer! I'm just very pleased with this place and look forward to my next visit! read more

I was in a rush to an event at Everbloom next door, but have been dying to go inside and check out LDFC, so I did a quick 10 min survey of the store to see what types of items and brands they have in stock, what the price range is, and overall how the store measures up to other independent pet stores I frequent on my side of town (wag, three dog bakery). I loved the selection that this store offered, and saw that while it focuses mainly on food (dry, raw diets, chews and treats), they still offer other pet needs like toys and grooming. I found the selection of items and brands excellent, and also prices were fair and comparable to the stores I regularly shop at. I ended up leaving with a purchase in my speed shopping-a himalayan dog chew for my little man. Great service, rewards membership (3% off each purchse which will at least save you half the taxes) and again, very impressed with the cases of chilled food for fresh or raw diets. read more

They're very friendly and super helpful, and if you need help getting big bags of food to your car, they do that too. Prices are sane, service is great. Yesterday, I visited this store with my new husky rescue "Jake". My rescue is from Taysia Blue. I received a Welcome Home Adoption Bundle for my puppy and was able to customize the contents specifically (my puppy is allergic to chicken). I super enjoy this pet food store. Another great shining example of a small business that works hard for the community. The staff are always knowledgeable and their selection of dog food and treats make me come back. I shop at a lot of the pet stores around town and this location always stands out. They sell these locally made soaps I can use for my dogs baths. It has completely helped with his skin issues. I also waited until the last minute to get a cake for my dogs birthday, but the staff gave me so many options! I was absolutely thrilled! read more

I visited this specialty pet store at 90th & Center in the new Loveland plaza this past Saturday at their Grand Opening event. The other LDFC location is at Village Pointe but I don't often go that far out west. The place was crowded with dogs and their people as well as volunteers from Hands Hearts & Paws with rescue dogs up for adoption. Despite the organized chaos, the staff were very helpful, friendly and eager to answer any questions about prices or products. They had some great discounts on quality brand pet food and buy one get one free treats. I saw a grooming area but did not see a do-it-yourself pet wash (which I prefer). The store was rather small but had a wide selection. The red carpet pet photos and free ties were a fun idea for the event. Willow gives it her seal of approval! We would come here again for an outing, especially with the dog-friendly Bookworm right next door. read more

The name suggests it caters to dogs and cats, but it's mostly a dog store. There is a segment of one of the shelving units dedicated to catnip and a few toys, nothing to write home about. The selection is highly limited and there's still dog stuff occupying some of the shelves in that small, 1.5ish foot long section. I went in hoping to support a small, local pet shop, but I left with nothing due to the poor selection. Food samples were only for dogs, as far as I could see. Dog grooming pricing is on a giant board with way too much information, getting very specific with pricing for certain breeds. Overly-complicated and potentially confusing with everything smashed together on the menu board; not all breeds listed (of course), meaning you must ask to figure out what any visit with your dog breed not on the board will cost. Overall, I've experienced better and wasn't charmed by this location, so I don't plan on returning. read more

This is 100% my favorite place to get treats and goodies for my greyhound! They have so many cute little novelties and some are baked right at the store so I know the ingredients are fresh! My dog LOVES LOVES LOVES their peanut butter cupcakes and will do just about any trick for one of them ;-) I am a new pet-owner and every time I go here to buy something new, the girls who work here give me the best suggestions! Greyhounds have sensitive stomachs and the girls were able to recommend a brand of dog food that doesnt give my boy the runs (maybe tmi, but also helpful info for you). While Bob is super happy munching on a bag of Doritos or lapping up a cup of Rumchata, I prefer his diet not consist of creamy liquor or plastic foods covered in orange powder meant to entice event the weakest of humans. Thank goodness for LDFC opening a location nearer to my home...so instead of Doritos (okay, I'm not really feeding him Doritos - EVER), I can get my regular healthy staples like duck feet, dried tripe, and even knuckles - which makes him equally happy and MUCH more healthy. They have a great selection of natural foods, dried or not, for folks who have little doogles able to handle a more conventional, healthy diet. We mainly go to LDFC for their treat items since Bob is on a custom raw diet due to his myriad of allergies and health problems (thanks dog trends of the '70s and '80s which resulted in over-breeding of cocker spaniels). Always friendly. Willing to order in specialty items. Knowledgeable staff. Now I can pop in instead of planning an entire trip out to VP to visit your original location. Love it! read more

I went looking for souvenirs for my puppy and wasn't impressed with the stuff they carried. The guy at the register was not unhelpful, but I can't say it was fun shopping there. Incredibly unhelpful employees. There were two guys sitting at the counter talking to each other. I was struggling to find a harness that fit my puppy, and to keep him from running off as I was putting them on. They were sitting down directly in front of me- they could see my struggle, and they didn't budge to offer me a hand or to suggest a good harness. They just continued to talk amongst themselves. I was the only customer in the store. I drove out of my way to visit this location, and I left flustered and without a harness. Will not be coming back to this store. read more

I was very disappointed and dissatisfied with my visit to this store.When I arrived to the store I wasn't greeted. I had to approach both employees at the time to get help instead of being greeted and offered help when entering the store. I was going into the store for my dogs very first scheduled nail trimming appointment at this location so it was all kinda new to me. Before I knew it some Billy Eilish look alike came over and snatched my dog from me and proceed to walk towards the back of the store. My dogs leash was still attach to his harness and still wrapped in my hands and she was already walking toward the back of the store! I had to mention the fact of taking the leash off just so she could actually proceed! She didn't try greeting my dog. She didn't try saying hello to me or my wife . She didn't mention where she would be taking him or where the nail cutting room was located. It was just snatch and go from the second she saw him. Now keep in mind this is my VERY first time at this location and first impressions do matter a whole lot especially when you're dealing with some else's pet. If I could rate half a star or even no stars at all, I would definitely do it. read more
