Great place to spend an evening (and watch BattleBots! ) with good pizza and a great beer selection. The pizza was very good, and since I can't eat Mozzarella and my husband won't eat onions, they graciously let us swap Monterrey Jack and jalapeños on our pizza. It's not fancy (but it's fun!) and didn't have a 3-hour wait like other restaurants in town, but it's quickly become one of our favorites in Terlingua--can't believe we've been out there SO many times and never tried them! And I wouldn't say the lady (owner? bartender?) looks like Ruth from Ozark at all and she definitely doesn't act like her! But I do agree that Grumpy Ed wasn't grumpy either. Thanks y'all! Credible non-corporate pizza that's a welcome addition just outside of Terlingua less than two miles and nicely offsets the BBQ/Mexican options the town already has to offer. We got a 16" to go but would have enjoyed dining in for what looks like a friendly, toned down kind of place to enjoy a college football game on their TVs. In an area that is pretty shy on a lot of dining spots, a very welcome options. Nice that the only pizza you can get in the area is quite good. We tried the Coyote and Terlingua Spur. Coyote tastes like your typical meat lovers pizza but we really enjoyed the Terlingua Spur.

Have been to Terlingua about four times in the last year and a half to visit Big Bend and have never stopped in here before...glad to say that we found our new favorite spot. It's a very laid back (but cool) little pizza joint with options for everyone. My boyfriend wanted something meaty and got the Buckaroo, whereas I don't eat beef or pork and opted for the Jackelope, which was seriously one of the best veggie pizzas I've ever had. We also had a super sweet waitress & would say it's the best service we've gotten anywhere in Terlingua. We will definitely be coming back every time we stay in the ghost town. I will start by saying the regular cheese pizza I got was extremely ordinary so the stars aren't for that. My friend got a Paisano on a cauliflower crust and that was the biggest hit of the year. This is a special place and is a treat for all ages. From what I can tell, it is as beloved by locals as it is by tourists and brings the two groups together seamlessly and organically. We have been a few times and enjoy hanging out in the back, listening to live music, and watching the sunset and the stars come out. Nestled near the side of a cliff, this humble hang out is so much more than just a restaurant. We have been going to Terlingua for decades and are somewhat resistant to change (don't Marfa my Terlingua!), but this place honors the intangible elements that make Terlingua so special. Came here two times in two days, an easy take-back-to-the-rental meal after a hot day of hiking/paddling. New owners took over in April 2022 so the menu has been updated and added a few things like bread sticks, mozzarella sticks and wings. Pizzas were tasty, not gourmet, but good with fresh toppings. Wings were alright, we got the garlic Parmesan which was a wing sauce instead of actual garlic and parmesan, but when tired and hungry they tasted good. I popped in right at 5P, snagged a barstool, and placed a to go order. I was greeted by the owner, who resembles Ruth from the Netflix series, Ozark. Just like Ruth, she's young, and damn smart. I think she bought the joint from some old hen, out of Houston, but not sure. It's a primarily locals joint, but they were all super cool. I'd say it's more of a 3 star bar, based on the food- since they use frozen pizza crusts, but the prices, and ambience bump it up a notch. With fresh dough, they could be a contender anywhere in the state. Come on, Ruth! The hidden secret is their outside patio. Sitting on a back patio, right against the mountain, is incredible! Ruth has a great vision, and plans on extending the patio, and eventually featuring live music. She is also getting a full liquor license, which will be huge. Albeit frozen crust, the pizza was good. My son raved about his wings, and the beer selection is strong. Prices are fair, and Grumpy Ed, really was a nice guy, and not grumpy at all. I can't help but wonder if the negative reviews are a reflection of folks that don't want to take in consideration that they are in a small town. In the middle of nowhere. Calm down folks, it's Terlingua, go with the flow, and be thankful you aren't having to eat a gas station hot dog that's been rolling on that who-knows-what thing all day. We were in town from Houston visiting Terlengua for Dia De Los Muertos and to do some hiking at Big Bend. We saw Long Draw Pizza on the map we got in town. We stopped in and the place was hoppin. It was quaint but cozy and clean. They had some unique style pizzas and classics, as well. The food was great and the staff very welcoming. We will def eat there everytime we are in town. However, here is what further and finally sealed the deal and def won our repeat business. I left my favorite watch there. It was 11pm and an hour away before I realized I'd left it. I called the next day when they were open but no one had seen it. I left my name and number, accepting the fact it was gone forever. HOWEVER, that evening Chris Rodriguez called me to tell me he found it and said he'd mail it to me in Houston. There are decent people out there as well as good pizza. We were excited to try this pizza place when we were visiting Big Bend. We stayed at the Lasjitas resort in our basecamp. I'm honestly perplexed as to how this place has such high reviews but I'll share our experience quickly. The pizza was straight up burned. Like black. We had: Appetizers (cheese bread sticks) & two med pizzas. We watched one guy make all the pizza in essentially a toaster oven (nothing wrong with that) but couldn't figure out how he was burning everything. So either the guy was new, didn't care about food quality at all or just didn't like us. Either way, paying SIXTY dollars for two charred medium pies, charred cheese sticks and 3 canned sodas was entirely ridiculous. We tipped the waitress of course as she was not to blame. Guess if there is only one pizza place in the entire area, and you don't have to probably see your customers ever again, who cares, right? ‍ Go up the street to the cantina & bar instead. read more
