They also make custom cakes and other baked items. A cool day called for a coffee. If hanging out in this lakeside town, it's better to go here than some chain coffee place. The prices aren't that bad for an independent business like this. Inside there's a couple tables and a couch. Space is limited but charm isn't. I got a Cinnamon Sugar Latte, which was one of the seasonal coffees. It's $6 for a regular. This had plenty of spice and sweetness along with some vanilla. Best place in town to get coffee. It feels a lot like being in someone's living room. There's also pastries that you can get at the counter or you can make an order for cakes or whatever.

Honey Hill has a chill atmosphere and welcoming presence at the onset with staff who are knowledgeable and can help guide you through choosing a drink that fits you. Sadly, Honey Hill is far enough away from where I live that I wouldn't drive all the way their just to get coffee, but when I'm inevitably in Wauconda again soon, I will definitely stop by. The place itself is cute inside, and they even have local artists' paintings for sale on their wall. I love when local businesses support local entrepreneurs and artists. When we came, we sat on the little patio outside because it was a gorgeous day. They have a few tables set up right beside the building. When it comes to the menu, there are TONS to choose from! They also don't only have coffee, which is a plus because my husband isn't a coffee fan. They offer lemonade, frozen lemonade, non-coffee milkshake type drinks, steamed apple cider, hot chocolate, and teas. They also have food choices, such as multiple flavors of scones and cake slices. Admittedly, the day we came, the service could have been better. The young girl made the drinks really well, but she wasn't too friendly. She might have been having a bad day or something, which is understandable, but I wish she was a bit more personable. Overall, I highly recommend Honey Hill, and the location is perfect because it's in the downtown area of town, so there are plenty of stores around to pop in and out of!

Walking in, you can smell it's gonna be great barbecue. The staff are wonderful, and ready to guide you to a great experience. Recently I've had the pleasure of having some of the best barbecue in North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee and I can't say I've been anywhere in IL that rivals those experiences...until now. My husband lived in TX for a while and until I went to Austin, I sorta hated brisket - you could smoke it, sauce it, but it was just always kinda tough and gritty and gross. Austin was my first experience with what brisket should and could be and Rock Stock MATCHED it. See, if you do brisket right, it's meat candy. Buttery, incredibly juicy meat candy. And let's just put out there: that tough a cut of meat being THAT juicy and that buttery is sorcery. This place has the magic. I also really enjoyed the Polish sausage, esp. with the SoCal mustard bbq sauce, and the brisket beans. Ribs were also super wonderful. Pulled pork with the Plum sauce is sweet and spiced and if you paired it with some smoked jalapeno, even better. I'd say I'm gonna go back and try even more things, but realistically, I'm probably gonna go back for brisket above all else, because...I'm telling you, not everyone can brisket like these folks brisket. Oh, last standout -the coleslaw. I'm not a coleslaw girl, but the dill and actual pickle in this changed my mind. Anyway, get out there.

When we first got there my wife wanted to sit outside and was told they had heaters (as I was dressing for 50's temps), but they didn't have them turned on. So, inside we went and sat at the bar. Stayed for couple of quick drinks. Nothing special about it but our bartender was very nice, personable and attentive. So from that standpoint service was great! Pricing was decent but if you are looking for an old fashioned, don't. It tasted like they splashed it with sprite or something, bathed in crushed ice and Marciano cherry. Very sweet. All of that was passable and went with the style but had to knock them down when I went to the rest room. It was dirty, paper towels on the floor and trash bins overflowing. I get they were busy on a Saturday night, but still. We will be back but hope to have a better review next time. If I recall their food was good, though menu is a little traditional - nothing too exciting for this foodie.

Every bite feels deliberate, not just thrown together. The salads deserve just as much attention, which isn't always the case at pizza spots. They're fresh, vibrant, and with ingredients that actually taste like they were chosen with care rather than convenience. What really elevates this place, though, is the service. The staff is consistently attentive without hovering--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure you have a great experience. Management clearly sets the tone here; you can feel that level of care in how smoothly everything runs and how valued customers are made to feel. The manager went out of her way to make sure our allergy needs were met and never made us feel anything we requested was too much to ask. She cared. It's rare to find a restaurant that executes so well across the board--food, service, and atmosphere--but this one does it effortlessly. Whether you're stopping in for a casual meal or something a bit more special, it delivers every time. Highly recommend, and definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

It was a Wednesday evening, and while the restaurant was busy, it wasn't overly crowded. Unfortunately, our experience didn't meet our expectations. I ordered a raspberry cosmopolitan martini, and when it arrived, there were two ants floating in it. I politely asked for a new drink and even apologized for having to send it back. From my seat, I watched the bartender pour the drink back into the shaker, give it another shake, and pour it into a clean glass. I should have said something, but after already feeling uncomfortable about returning it, I didn't. In the end, I didn't drink it because the way it was handled left me uneasy, and it honestly didn't taste very good. The appetizers were delicious, but we had to ask for plates and napkins because they weren't brought to the table. When our entrees arrived, they were placed on the table before the appetizer dishes were cleared, leaving very little room until we asked for them to be removed. The food itself was good overall. My husband really enjoyed his bison burger. When we asked for a box to take home the rest of his burger, coleslaw, and my leftover fries, we were given a container that was far too small to fit everything. Service throughout the meal was disappointing. Our water glasses were never refilled, and our server rarely checked on us. It appeared she was very attentive to guests she knew, while we felt largely overlooked. I completely understand that restaurants have busy nights, but every guest should feel welcomed and receive the same level of service. We truly wanted to enjoy our first visit because the location and waterfront views are beautiful. Unfortunately, the combination of the drink issue and the lack of attentive service overshadowed the evening. We left disappointed and, sadly, don't see ourselves returning.
