This is a charming coffee shop. The people behind the counter were so friendly, warm, and helpful. I sought this place out for the cinnamon rolls, but I was too late on the day I visited. Next time! I had a magnificent pain au chocolate. The breakfast soufflé was very nice. I purchased some of the bars to take home. They were very popular with my family. I got a taste of the Snickerdoodle one and it was very delicious. I had not seen this variety of bar cookie before but I hope to find some again soon. read more

They also make custom cakes and other baked items. A cool day called for a coffee. If hanging out in this lakeside town, it's better to go here than some chain coffee place. The prices aren't that bad for an independent business like this. Inside there's a couple tables and a couch. Space is limited but charm isn't. I got a Cinnamon Sugar Latte, which was one of the seasonal coffees. It's $6 for a regular. This had plenty of spice and sweetness along with some vanilla. Best place in town to get coffee. It feels a lot like being in someone's living room. There's also pastries that you can get at the counter or you can make an order for cakes or whatever. read more

Whisk did an incredible job making the birthday cake for my sons first birthday! Called them up about two weeks in advance, they had no problem with the time frame, gave them the theme (space) and left the rest up to them and they crushed it! And oh yeah, the cake was absolutely delicious! Super cute shop that admittedly we've wanted to stop in for coffee but never have but definitely have to now. Great service as who I am assuming is the owner walked the cake to my car as I had my 3 year old with me who wanted to be held instead of walk. Looking forward to visiting Whisk many times in the future for breakfast/coffee but also using them for any bakery needs we may have. read more

What a great find. I tried the spinach feta pull apart. Yummy! It's so good I'm licking my plate. I did buy a box of "goodies" for later. Such a cute place with a nice ambience. The place looked very clean and homey. I ordered a breakfast burrito and a ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Also ordered the hot chocolate and caramel vanilla hot tea. For some after dinner treats we took home day old cupcakes- salted caramel and chocolate. Customer service was excellent. Chris was on point and very friendly. He informed me you can also order baked goods, like cookies, cupcakes, and cakes. They have a binder full of pictures of orders they have done. So needless to say I was looking forward to trying the cupcakes when we got home. Sadly I wasn't too impressed. The salted caramel was okay. I like the fact that it wasn't too sweet and it had caramel filling inside. The chocolate was dry. Yes, I get it was day old, but I would not expect it to be that dry. Even the caramel one was still moist. The hot chocolate could've been a tad been sweeter and had more chocolate- all personal preference. The tea was good. Added some honey, creamer, and sugar and it was delicious... I would go back to see what else they have to offer. 1 dry cupcake wouldn't stop me from going there to pick up something to eat and drink, but to compare I'd want to pick up a freshly made cupcake. read more

We requested by phone a chocolate birthday cake with white icing and a cherry filling. As we discussed decoration, the thought of cherry blossoms (to match the filling) came up. We had this bakery make a cake for my sons 3rd birthday. First off, they charged a crazy amount ($94)for a cake that was for 20 people. We just order a cake from a different bakery for 50 people and it was $84. Secondly, the cake tasted awful. The cake was stale and the fudge filling horrible. Many of our guests didn't even finish there piece. We would have been better off making our own cake from a box. The only reason they deserve 1 star is that the decorations on the cake were nice. Stopped at the Whisk tent at tonight's Farmer's Market. Once again Whisk had some tasty products to take home. My dessert for the evening was a "pull-apart". Wonderful texture and mix of flavors. I found myself eating more out of pleasure than hunger. Glad I have a bit of self control. On occasion I have stopped in for a cup of coffee and a treat. Staff is always friendly and patient. I couldn't be more impressed with this gorgeous cake I ordered for my girls baby shower. I sent a picture of the unique wallpaper in her nursery and the girls at whisk did an amazing job replicating it. We love Whisk! When we first moved to Wauconda we tried their amazing special cupcakes. We have been hooked ever since. I have been going to Whisk for over three years now for any special occasion/celebration events (e.g. birthdays, communions, anniversaries, etc). A great bakery, but also an at-home cafe. You walk in feeling welcome. The staff is super friendly and so accommodating to any special requests. The owner is a true talent and is open to working with clients on special requests. Coffee is really good and they did great with my custom latte order. Desserts and bakery items all looked amazing and I stumbled on a fluke KETO CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE! (yes of course I bought the entire cake.) I haven't had a dessert tasting item for 8 months and this was such a treat on Valentines Day. It wasn't cheap, but worth every penny. Absolutely delicious and adorable. My husband and I each had a cinnamon roll which was to die for I would usually top my cinnamon roll with a ton of butter however these ones did not need it at all. I also had an iced coffee which was delicious. The owner let me try the pour over coffee because she had some leftover from the previous customer wow I couldn't believe the difference. This adorable gem in downtown Wauconda displays and showcases local art it was also good to hear that they use coffee from a local business in Libertyville. They had a number of different cupcakes cinnamon rolls sconces muffins but I did not see any donuts so if that's what you're after this may not be your place.
