This company has a pending complaint filed with the NYS Department of State Licensing Bureau and reports on file with the SC Division of Consumer Affairs and NYS Consumer Protection. I might as well have had the kid next door do the inspection. Relying on this company's report cost me tens of thousands of dollars after purchasing my home. I could not insure the house without replacing the roof, which they estimated to be 10-15 years. They listed two fireplaces/stoves as wood-burning despite there being obvious gas pipes connected to the units. Therefore, they did not inspect them, and one of them had a defective on/off knob. They only listed the existence of a sliding glass door in the sunroom and omitted that it was not functional and had a 2-inch gap between the doors. The rest of the report was sloppy and several inaccuracies. Fred Hagemeyer, one of the owners, made excuses for these errors, claimed the report contained harmless "misstatements", and blamed everyone else for their assessments. However, in our first conversation, he offered to refund the cost of the report. In our final conversation, we negotiated a money amount to help offset my costs resulting from his errors. Inspected a home we were considering purchasing in 2019. The report did not show major issues. After purchasing the home we discovered the Master Bath was not draining properly and the threshold was cracked and caulking was applied as a band-aid. Shower is second bath had a mixing valve issue, Water was too Hot or Too Cold. Master Shower needed to be redone completely, cost $20000 Second bathfaucet and piping had to be replaced. Major leaks in Living Room and Great Room. We had to replace a sliding door and palladium window, cost over $12,000. They did a Termite inspection (??). There was rotting in the garage which was caused by a infestation of Termites. The Worst Company read more

As a first time home buyer I will admit experience in this process is something I lack. I had used LI Home Inspections back in October and received the report in no time. Which had stated the water heater was 30 years passed it's life expectancy, a licensed electrician is recommended and in the detached garage signs of wood rot or termite damage was present. Prior to signing contracts I had requested credit for these issues which I was not granted due to the wording of this report and stating everything was functioning. A day after I had moved in all things stated in the report as "marginal" were far from. I had reached out to the company in hopes of a resolution since all parties involved had advised me to do so; disheartened by his response of claiming no responsibility I share the experience I wouldn't wish for others. read more

Do not use this company! Note: I gave the owner an opportunity to rectify the situation. They missed a number of issues with my home which totaled over $6k in damages. Issues included the following: 1) Boiler not working properly 2) Lack of chimney cap (specifically noted as Acceptable on report) 3) 3 windows are not operational. 4) Radiant flooring does not work I informed the owner 1 day after moving in and asked why this wasn't part of the report. He said it wasn't part of the inspection process and referred me to a link (something I wasn't informed of prior). After an in depth review of the companies responsibilities and feed back from National Grid and my chimney company these are issues that should have been addressed in the report per their own standards and as per field experts. When I asked if he had "any intention on making this right" his response what a hard "NO". Horrible service, I understand mistakes happen, but you should have some common courtesy and respect for your customer. I'll be reaching out to local real estate agents urging them not to use this company. read more

Long Island Home inspection was recommended to me and I have to say, I do not regret a second. Eric was as friendly as it comes on the phone - we did set a day / time and he and a helper (I forgot the name off) were there on-time and very punctual. When I met him, I felt the same friendliness with an immediate like - the process of acquiring a home can be nerve wracking and Eric's calm is a huge help. He was thorough, I had 1,000 questions and running after him like a puppy but he explained everything, showed me the problems, gave me tips and advices. They went through the whole home, took pictures, tested everything (run the dishwashers, laundry and so on) and documented as it goes. By the end of the inspection, they printed all document on the spot - I got a binder (and a CD with all documents in) and Eric went through the report page by page and all the details again explaining every aspects. He gave me their card and we communicated by Email after the inspection (was very helpful in providing references). Overall, they saved me a few 1,000$ as I required to have a fix for the major items. It was a great experience and I cannot imagine a better one - a great set of great guys, very professional, punctual, thorough, polite, friendly and inspiring confidence as well as promoting calm and re-assurance (which for anxious people like me, is a must). Fred and Frank were absolutely wonderful. Not only did they "inspect" every crevice and corner of the house my husband and I are about to purchase, they also made sure that we were fully aware and understood every inch of it. For two people who do not deal with house issues on a daily basis, we are not familiar with many of the terms and motions to follow, the two of them literally made us walk through the house notice the things with them, gave us pointers along the way and made us gain a sense of confidence and reassurance about EVERYTHING!
