I have an asthmatic Bengal cat who can been suffering with asthma since we got her. My normal vet is twins in Bayshore but we were recommended here to a specialist my primary vet! I must say for a vet that has not the greatest reviews I'm really surprised because me and my wife are obsessed with Dr tumalty. He's the cat specialist there and he's amazing. Always informative and takes his time to answer any questions me and my wife ask. We never feel rushed and that's why we really like him. The staff is also very friendly and I'm very comfortable bringing our cat here. Dr tumalty has our Bengal rue on a weekly prescription that we give her everyday and it's been helping tremendously. No more wheezing and she's doing great! She gets little flare up here and there but very short and not whereas bad as they use to be. Overall I'm very happy with our cat's progress and couldn't rave more about this place. I hear the bad reviews are for the dog specialist about not sure if that's true but I can say confidently for cats Dr tumalty is great. Highly recommend for cats here! Dr. Tucci took over his case the morning after he was hospitalized, it was already noon when I came to visit him and waited an hour just to speak to her. She told me she doesn't know what medications were increased but some were, and told me she didn't get a chance to look yet, 5 hours into her shift. Again no explanation no answers, no follow up, NO COMMUNICATION!! Dr. Tucci put my dog on fluids, without notifying me OR LEAVING A NOTE FOR THE NEXT DOCTOR TO NOTIFY WHY HE WAS ON FLUIDS, as he shouldn't have been because of his heart disease. When I came to visit my dog and noticed he was hooked up to fluids, I spoke with Dr Rubin who had come in to take over the shift. I said why is my dog on fluids, she responded "no way he's not on fluids, he's not supposed to be he can't be " then I proceeded to notify her that he is actually on fluids, the line is currently in his arm. NOT ONLY DID SHE HAVE NO IDEA AFTER BEING THERE FOR A FEW HOURS, SHE HAD NO IDEA WHY HE WAS PUT ON IN THE FIRST PLACE. Then Dr Rubin proceeded to tell me that my dog received an extra dose of his heart failure medication ( which was the entire plan, oxygen and increased diuretics). She promised she would call me at the end of the AM shift in the morning 5:30/6 am she didn't, I found out that Dr. Rubin lied, and she did not give him the extra dose of Diuretics until 4 AM that morning, she told me it was given earlier in the day, when in fact, she only gave him the extra dose right before her shift ended I saw on the treatment sheet my dog was not being given the medication he was supposed to be getting from leading to him getting it intravenous on a continuous and high dose, which caused further complications . During his last overnight shift, which again unfortunately, was with Dr. Tucci, I called for an update and was told that he was doing OK, I called back early that morning before the shift ended and asked to speak with Dr. Tucci and she told the Receptionist that I have to wait for the doctor who's taking over to call me between 10 and 12 in the afternoon with an update. Then the Receptionist gave me an update about a different dog. They told me that my dog had gone for a walk and his stitches were healing nicely, I was confused as I knew my dog was in a oxygen tank and was unable to walk, when I told the receptionist that she has the wrong pet, she answered oh they're right next to each other, And then without checking, proceeded to give me the same update "he's resting comfortably", No update about clinical improvements or any diagnostics done. Left waiting by my phone for three days just to hope to hear some news. Throughout the time, my dog was hospitalized, his veterinarian requested records multiple times and never received any. Unfortunately, yesterday, I had no choice, but to put him to sleep as they said treatment was not working. I called early this morning at 6 am requesting his records, hid veterinarian, and cardiologist also reached out for records and received nothing. It is now 6 PM and I received two emails from them which contain old records nothing pertaining to my dogs hospitalization. It is truly scary how this hospital in ran. While my dog was hospitalized I asked to speak With a supervisor and was advised that they were not there over the weekend because it was a holiday, I called today, Tuesday, May 26 and asked to speak to a supervisor and they advised me that they had left for the day. It is unacceptable that an emergency hospital is running without any supervision. It is unacceptable that from the beginning of my dog hospitalization to now after his passing, I still have no answers about what treatment was given exactly to my dog, I have no records, and still no answer about why he was on fluids that he shouldn't have been. Please take the time and consider somewhere else, your pet deserves better. To the doctors that participated in my dog care that provided me with no bedside manner, no answers, no peace. I hope you can sleep at night and I don't know how this hospital employees doctors like you. read more

Had an awful experience last night. It started when I made a phone call inquiring about information, including payment options and cost of treatment/exams. The woman on the line was nasty, cold, and seems like she couldn't be bothered. Unfortunately, my cats health took a turn for the worst last night. She could not breathe upon bringing her in. I believe the same woman I spoke to on the phone was at the front desk, she was wearing a bonnet. I don't know her name. She barked at me that the exam would be 150 which was fine, she then asked me what her name was. I went to tell her my cats name and she yelled that's YOUR name? sarcastically I said, I thought you asked me what her name was not mine and what is your problem you've been nasty since we walked in here and clearly I'm looking for a compassion during really vulnerable time. She jumped to call for someone else to handle our situation and continue to make comments under her breath and laughed at us. I've never been so disgusted by any establishment she should be fired on the spot. The other girl who took her back was OK she had tattoos, but still wasn't overly friendly or compassionate. I can't fathom ever bringing a pet here again. Your front desk needs a total overhaul. What an off putting disgrace of human to scoff at, laugh at and give an attitude to someone in need. I cannot express enough gratitude for Dr Michael Selmer and his extensive knowledge, empathy and skill in performing a miracle on my 7 year old dog with intervertebral disc disease. My dog was walking very slowly, looked to be in pain, couldn't handle stairs anymore and had to be pushed in a dog carriage for most of the walks. Dr Selmer's magic of chiropractic adjustment, acupuncture and cold laser delivered amazing results. My baby was already noticeably better by the third session and back to normal after the sixth. Has not regressed yet. I started to take my other dog (litter mates) for preventative treatment as well. read more

From the moment we walked in (in panic , fear n concern) we were greeted with kindness from a staff that was eager to ease our worry n give us the comfort we so desperately needed. (especially Tiffany). Our Mickey was rushed to this hospital 2x within a few days n they were not only tentative but immediately remembered us n Mickey. They were also familiar with her case. (They adore her n show her lots of love). After a short wait we encountered a super knowledgeable doctor who took her time w us, was extremely thorough with her notes to document n pass on to the rest of her team n the surgical team. Next we had the pleasure of speaking w Angelina who had so much compassion for not only Mickey but our family as well (the billing/estimate part is always a knot in ur stomach lol ) and she certainly made that comfortable n light n even some laughs. mickey wound up needing to stay for 2weeks n not a day passes w at least 1 call w an update of her progress medically n personally. Very bad in medical care for your pet. Try to say my dog had cancer in her leg that it need to be cut off before doing any testing I told Dr. Rose before she makes any decisions. Please do some testing and she agreed came back in the room told me she loves the challenge. She told me she had good and bad news. Good news she has an infection in her high heel, which I knew that already she had a small boil on the back of her leg. She said oh the bad news I gotta give her medication. She gave her gabapentin 600 mg CARPROFEN chewables 100 mg and CLAVAMOX 375 mg which made my dog very sick 3x a day . I called over to the hospital told him what happened. They told me to take her off of the gabapentin While Ruby chewed a hole in her high heel all the way down to the bone the doctor never gave me an E collar. I took her back there. They told me it was not their fault and if I was going to leave her here it's gonna cost me $4000 and up just for an overnight stay I told them they made this problem. They have to fix it. Ruby should've had and E collar on which they never gave her one to go home in!! they refused to help her and acknowledge that they were at fault!! No only that within a few days. The other medication made Ruby very sick with kidney issues from the medication. I had to put my dog down. This hospital is very disgusting. I would not allow or tell a friend to bring their pets there. They're very hungry for money and very disrespectful especially the managers and vets there especially when it comes to accountability no pet owner should have to go through this!! Ruby was a healthy dog. She was seven years old running around like she was only a year old and in very good health. my kitten was transferred from VCA- great hospital- on Saturday because they thought she might need another surgery ( was septic post Spay at North Shore League- worst care ever) before Monday when they could do it. meanwhile, I get to Plainview and they say they probably can't do any surgery until Monday! that said, the full culture came back from VCA, and new antibiotics seem to be okay, so we are in a holding pattern. PROBLEM: they're go to response is "no news is good news"! they do not call regularly to report as VCA did! when I call, I can not get access to a nurse or doctor ( as I always did at VCA). just receptionist saying tag line. once a doctor called back and said same tagline. I'm giving this place 3 stars because the prices are insane. They took care of my dog. They made sure he was ok. But they go off your emotions. They hit you with $4000 estimates per day just to monitor your pet. It should be illegal what they charge. They even have credit card pamphlets waiting with QR codes so u can apply and swipe some more. It just cost me $14,000 for 6 nights in the vet..... that being said the people are very nice there. Brought my 11 yo dog with heart disease in after he passed out cold. Although they were very interested in doing tests, they didn't react to a dangerously low RBC, didn't have a cardiologist review or summarize the echocardiogram, refused to send imaging (even after I offered to pay), called me in the middle of the night to request permission (&payment) for an unnecessary test. I spoke to 2 vets who are mysteriously not listed on their website. When I checked him out after an overnight stay, there was no one to answer questions. $4500 wasted. It's better than Mount Saini for humans. The quality of the facility and staff was that of a great hospital. My dog needed an MRI and Spinal tap. They did the best they could to make the bill as least painful as possible. It's not cheap but you'll also get what you pay for. They found the right medication combination to keep my dogs epilepsy down considerably. You won't go wrong. read more

I had a serious issue with their Billing Department!! I used to admire this facility, but they have gone downhill for sure. After waiting quite a while, which seemed a little off course, especially in an emergency situation, I was offered many avenues of medical investigation. That included a stool test, x-rays, blood tests, and medication. I only allowed only the blood & stool tests. I also requested a pill for anxiety. Of course there was a fee for seeing the Veterinarian too. The cost was alarming but acceptable without x-rays. I paid the bill on the spot. Turns out the blood test were negative. It was just a one time thing, where my dog threw up from something and had stool issues, that one time. Three weeks later, I received an extremely threatening call from a seemingly young man, who worked at the veterinarian office! He stated that I owed over $1000 and it would go to collection if I didn't immediately pay him. First thing I thought of was all the scams that been going on. However, at the same time I knew I paid the whole bill though to call someone and start threatening them with collections sounded quite alarming and practically criminal. I refuse to pay him and told him I never had the x-rays if that's what you're thinking of. I also said initially, there was another bill with it included, and it had been adjusted to what I accepted, though he didn't believe me and kept going on and on about how my bill was going to be sent to collections. I hung up the phone quite agitated. A few hours later, I called back, to check if there was such a person working there. I got to thinking he might have somehow intercepted my phone number, searching files. The woman that answered didnt know what was going on and was absolutely no help. I hung up with her and never heard from anyone there again. The whole ordeal was quite derelict in a sense of attempting to get me to send him my card info over the phone, aside from his illicit threats! In all the years that I went to that facility, I'm talking 25 years minimum, as I had a dog prior to this one that went there with me, nothing like this ever happened !! Their billing department was so organized, and everyone was always polite and professional. That setting was quite the opposite. Needless to say, I will never go back there! read more

Spent all day sitting in a small room and at end of 5 hours was told nothing was done for my pets pain. Nothing. The only thing I was given was an estimate for $8000 and an office visit bill for almost $300. Was told a follow-up call from a surgeon would be next day and days later no call. I went to a recommended local vet and was given an estimate for. Same services for 75 percent less while my pet was treated kindly and promptly. Stay far away from these repulsive money grubbing parasites who could care less about your pet. They deserve to be in the same position as our pets someday if there is any karma. read more

On Sunday evening my dog collapsed and was having difficulty breathing. We called ahead and after waiting on hold for almost 10 minutes with the emergency line, they told us to park in front of the building and someone will be there waiting for us. We pull up. No one waiting and no one at the front desk. We eventually get them to send someone out who doesn't even try to help get the dog out of the car. Instead he goes back inside and rolls out with a small, rickety metal cadaver table (smaller than my dog) and tells us to put him on. Only after arguing what a terrible idea that is does he offer to lift the dog and carry him inside. We wait and are summoned to a room to talk to the vet. The vet tells us our dog is stable and ready to go home and that he just had a fainting spell. That even if we wanted to do anything, we would have to wait 4 business days for a simple heart ultrasound because despite being regarded as one of the top veterinary clinics, they didn't have any internist scheduled to work until then. We argue that he is wrong, that he is clearly lethargic and not doing well, but the vet doesn't listen. Settling only to give my dog fluids since we are unhappy with his answers. The bills, despite telling us there isn't much to do, included fluid, a vet consult, and vitals is... a whopping $873. Long story short, despite our concerns being ignored, we bring our wonderful dog home only for him to die the next day on Christmas after experiencing the same symptoms we brought him to the emergency vet for just over 24 hours later. So in addition to losing our beloved pet, we feel ignored and scammed by this highway robbery of an institution. read more

This place is horrible. All they care about is money and making a sale. We came here because of the recommendation by our vet. After an accident, our vet did some x rays on our family doggie. He thinks it was not serious. So he put some bandages on him and sent us home. He also told us we could go if we wish a specialist to take another look. We then made an appointment this weekend to see a specialist. We arrived on time but waited in our car for a very long time. Finally, when it was our turn, the staff took our doggie in to be examined, and this time it took even longer for us to hear back from the specialist. We were told, from our impression, our doggie is in bad shape and would require surgery immediately. Our doggie needs to be put under anesthesia and needs to stay in the hospital over the weekend after the surgery. The funny thing is that for our dog to go through the surgery, we didn't even do any pre-surgery blood work or any check-up. And usually, the doggie can't have any food or water from the previous night. When we asked these questions, all the specialist said was, "oh, but I think it'll be okay". Oh, really? And when she sent the quote out to us, which only took 5 minutes, to our surprise, it was almost $7,000.00!!! Oh really? Do you think we are all that stupid? They probably already had the quote pre-written even before speaking to us. And during the entire visit, we did not hear any words or any concerns coming from this hospital, and they have ready to send us a $7K bill. In the end, we told them we would get back to them so we could get out of there. The good news is, Our family doggie is doing fine and has not shown any discomfort or pain so far (thank God). We feel this place is so soulless. All they want is to see how much money they can get out from us. This vet is the biggest scam going. Reminder that just because it is a veterinary facility it does not mean that the people working there like animals. Edith Karopet is a horrible excuse of a human . I asked her to just clean my dogs ears to which her response was thr dog needed to be put under for that and it was their procedure when cleaning ears. She than told me my dog needed surgery and slipped up when telling me because she said "if " your dog survives. She did not realize I was in parking lot and I demanded a vet tech to bring me my dog to which he told me that two vets were arguing not to let me have my dog back. There just so happen to be a state trooper in the parking lot and I told the vet tech I called them and after 45 minutes a tech walked my dog out and handed my than 16 year old daughter a dog whose throat was slit and suffocating. My other daughter and I tried to remain calm and we had people on our phones who were able to guide us to west hills animal hospital 11 minutes away. We rushed her there , they were expecting us and saved our dog's life. Thank God for West Hills. After our experience at LIVS we contacted the police and learned this is something they hear all the time. Upon further research we learned just how bad LIVS is and how many, many animals they have harmed/ killed unnecessarily. Please if you love your animal do not take them to LIVS. There needs to be tougher laws when it comes to Veterinary practices. Unfortunately I learned the the owner sits on some review board that answers complaints about vets. I was dealing with a 6 month mini bernedoodle puppy who wouldn't walk or jump and hopped around like a bunny. What I thought was an adorable quirk turned out to be the start of a horror story--he did it because he was in horrible pain. Something was very wrong. My primary vet said it was the worst case of orthopedic issues she's seen in her career and that his musculoskeletal health resembled that of a 14-year-old dog. I went to three different orthopedic specialist in CT and each doctor spent several hours examining him and his x-rays. They were all left baffled on how to proceed. It was my worst fear. I was going to have to seriously consider putting him down. I drove two and a half hours as a last resort to see Dr. Marino after my vet referred me to him. He diagnosed him almost immediately with hip dysplasia and severe lateral luxating patellas. He needed hip and knee replacements in both hind legs immediately. 7 months and two surgeries later, I'm happy to report that he is almost fully recovered and back to being the puppy he missed out on being for over half of his life. It's been rough, I'm not going to lie--but if I could go back, I wouldn't have done anything differently. As responsible pet owners I think we need to have realistic expectations when dealing with a medical crisis. Dr. Marino is not God, nor can he perform miracles--but if you're facing a critical situation, Dr. Marino is the best chance your pet has at survival. I'm writing this review as a thank you to Dr. Marino and his team. He is the only reason that not only is my dog alive today--he living an active, happy and most importantly pain-free life. read more

I came here in late October 2020, when there were still a bit of COVID-19 regulations. Specifically, you had to wait in the parking lot, call reception and let them know your license plate, and wait for someone to come by and get your pet. The parking lot was a madhouse and not meant for lots of people waiting. It was a bit stressful not knowing when someone would come by to get my pet even though we had an appointment. We waited about a half hour beyond our appointment time. Luckily, my cat's ultrasound was relatively quick once they took him in. I didn't have a chance to talk with the technician - I wasn't offered the opportunity - though I was told his results would be sent directly to my vet. But they weren't, and it took three phone calls and then a direct call from my vet to this facility to get the results sent. This just added to the stress of the whole situation of having a sick pet in the first place. LIV is one of the only places with a 24-hour facility and could squeeze us in in that same week, so I am thankful for that. Maybe it would have been a better experience if the owners were still allowed inside. read more

Everyone was friendly to Britney. Totally my fault I was running a few mins late for her appointment, but they were able to accommodate us. No funny business, strictly medicine and professional veterinary care for my 15 year old Pomeranian. Britney needed to see Dr. Sapienza (Ophthalmologist) because of some clouding of her eyeballs. Britney's Veterinarian wasn't sure if it was cataracts, and referred us to LIVS. Thankfully, she doesn't have cataracts! The color of her eyeballs changed due to age. Her hair didn't turn gray, but her eyeballs did. Prescribed some over the counter eye drops for her treatment. Took my 15 year old pup to the park and she ran like a 2 year old. Very clean place. Warm and caring staff. Plenty of parking. For sure this place is on my Christmas card holiday cookie/chocolate list. If your dog needs an Ophthalmologist, Dr. Sapienza is your man. I would take Britney back if she needs additional care. This place is also a 24/7 EMERGENCY VETERINARY FACILITY. read more

If that was to happen it would be emergent surgery costing almost $7,000. I went against medical advice and took my cat to her vet the next morning and she was able to get the stone out without sedation or surgery for $75. NEVER USE LIVS, this place is a rip off and only after your money, not the well-being of your pet. And then if you complain about anything, they withhold services from you. And there are multiple reports of people making complaints against there charges and winning with there credit card companies only to have LIVS rebill them again personally. That's truly exceptional customer service. Ooh, and there is no operations chief of staff or anyone that calls you back. But the kids in the office will be glad to take your cash. read more

We had an emergency visit with our dog yesterday after a splenic rupture that ultimately ended with the devastating decision to put our sweet boy to sleep, and I would have to say that this hospital was organized, efficient, and timely, especially given the fact that we had to stay in the parking lot throughout the ordeal due to Covid restrictions. I felt like we never had to wait excessively for anything, and things moved forward in a timely way. I would recommend their services for anyone who is facing an emergent situation with their pet. I've been to other emergency vets over the years, and they've been much more frustrating experiences. Two things I want to mention:  First, I want to thank Dr. Wagner, who was the doctor who kept us in the loop throughout the afternoon and the one who put our baby to sleep. He was so patient and kind, answered all of our thousands of questions, did not push us or rush us in any way while we were making our decision, and was as comforting as possible to us, given the circumstances. I didn't expect to encounter a doctor like that, but I'm really grateful we did. It was evident that he was a knowledgeable vet, but what makes him stand out for me was his incredible compassion, up to our dog's last breath. Thank you so much. For us, he was a 5-star vet. Second, I have a suggestion. The one thing that really bothered me about our experience yesterday (other than losing our dog, of course) is that one of the techs kept interrupting our time with our dog right before he was put to sleep. She took us to the room, brought in the dog, told us we could take as much time as we needed, and then proceeded to interrupt our final minutes with our dog no less than 3 times to ask for payment, ask how I wanted to cremate our dog, etc. We were literally in the room in the last 10 minutes with our dog with tears streaming down our face, trying to hold back sobs and to have a stranger pop her head in asking us how we're going to pay for everything and to ask for a credit card for payment or whether we wanted an individual or group cremation for our dog was just beyond heartless and cold and tacky.  I don't want to say it was this woman's fault, because if this is just how the hospital normally conducts business, I think the final process is something that needs to be revisited by management. I don't know why we couldn't have had these discussions and made payment on our way out....or before we even got into the room with our dog. It was just....really, really awful, to be honest. I'm trying to focus on the positive things at the hospital, because I really am appreciative for Dr. Wagner and the rest of the staff for the majority of the visit, but the very end was just incredibly tacky and heartless. I'm getting furious all over again thinking about it now, actually. I would implore the hospital to revisit when and how the final pieces of paperwork are done. When bringing your pet to an animal hospital you expect that your pet  will be taken care of medically, physically and sanitarily. You expect communication and clear communication for that matter. At Long Island Veterinary Specialists I experienced a lack of communication and empathy. On top of dealing with the stress of my cat being sick, he is returned to my care covered in feces and smelling like urine. We also noticed his stomach was covered  in cuts and scraps from where his fur was shaved. Their care for my cat seemed to come second, and charging my card was always first. I reached out to the hospital and explained my concerns, and I was told that the only thing they would do for me is groom my cat (which I did the day he came home) and told me to come in so they could apply ointment on his wounds that were 5 days old at that point. I was told something along the lines of "Well this happens sometimes, usually you would be informed." I was told to post my complaints online, so that is exactly what I am doing. They seemed like they were reading off a script and were following protocol on what they had to say to someone with a complaint.  There was a serious lack of compassion and THAT right there is the problem I have with Long Island veterinarian specialist . So when considering  to bring your pet here, remember your pet is just a dollar sign to them. read more

Rocky, our beloved Standard Poodle was seen by his vet numerous times. He was having difficulty standing and was in intense pain. She said she could do no more for him and he needed a Neurological consult. He had his MRI the following day showing acute disc herniation C5-C6 and C7. Without surgery he would become paralyzed and ultimately euthanized. The surgery was done the same day as the MRI. Rocky's team was comprised of Neurologist, Dr. Mittleman and Dr. Catherine Loughin was his Surgeon. To put it simply, Dr. Loughin saved Rocky's life. I write this review three months after the surgery, and Rocky is running around like a puppy again. After surgery he had a long road ahead of him (we both did) and I promised Rocky that each day he would feel a tiny bit better. I cannot say enough about Dr. Loughin. Not only is she an excellent Surgeon, but she is caring and so very patient with all the questions I had. Clearly, this was costly, but as our boy just turned 7, I felt he deserved more healthy, happy years. For me, it was money well spent. read more

Mr. Andrew Shih, I hope he gets a new job that doesn't deal with lives of someone's family. He seemed to hate his job and doesn't even care about pets. "You are looking at a bill of about $10,000 including CT scan fee" LOL no thanks. Chances are higher I'd invent a feline scan machine myself than paying that. My cat (2 yo) has most likely caught kitty cold from other cats we have. We explained everything and he concluded our cat might have a cancer. (By the way she's completely recovered now.) During the consultation, when we asked "What do you mean by that?" , he either said, "What do you mean?" right back at us, or repeated exactly the same thing he said earlier. I'm sorry I didn't go to school to be a veterinarian but I don't understand all those terms you use. And that is exactly why we ask questions, and no one should be feeling confused/unsure about what is going on/ will happen to their pets just because your "vet" doesn't want to explain. Also even if you don't care about pets, you can at least pretend like you do. And first of all, you actually should be, because whether you like it or not, you are a vet. Before working at a vet, I'd like to recommend him go to acting school. By the way this 1 star is solely for Mr. Andrew Shih, and all the other staffs at the front or assistants were very nice and accommodating. read more

No organization is perfect, and LIVS on several occasions has provided our dog with top notch care and kindness... and I will always be grateful for that. However, our girl is approaching the end of her journey, so I emailed to see what the policy would be during this pandemic about being with her. I was surprised to never hear back. I also emailed our regular vet, who took time to CALL back the same day, and make several suggestions. It was a kind and professional thing to do. Does LIVS provide excellent care? Absolutely. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Horrible customer service, they don't care about your pet(s). I received a referral to have my cat seen by a specialist and they scheduled my cat with the wrong specialist so they call me back 2 days later to reschedule my appointment 3 weeks later! My cat isn't doing so well and not only did the front desk receptionists didn't care, but not even the MANAGER showed compassion. Instead the manager, Lauren said, unfortunately we have to reschedule you for that 3 week appointment or I can send you a lists of specialists you can alternatively take your cat. I, of course, accepted the list of specialists because I would never take my cat to a vet that has ZERO compassion about animals. But guess what? Lauren NEVER sent me the specialist list. The entire staff don't seem to care, save yourself and your beloved animal and GO SOMEPLACE else. read more

This was ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EXPERIENCE possible. We called to see if our Furbaby could be seen. Response sure. 5 hours later we had an hurriedness experience. We were asked if we would like RESUSCITATION OR DNR WTF. We requested that nothing be done without speaking to us first. Well that didn't happen. The bed side manner was terrible. My dog had hip surgery on his left hip on 5.31.23, he had the right one done 2 years ago. Both of these surgeries where done at LIVS. Supposedly they removed all the staples from his most recent surgery at his 2 week post operative appointment from 5.31.23. Today I was petting the area and noticed scabs still on his hip, then I happened to notice that a staple was left in. I can't believe that LIVS was so careless not to remove all of the staples from my dog's hip. I took him back today and they removed the staple. I am not happy about this and I am never going back there ever again. The doctor who performed the surgery was great, but this facility is deplorable. I just want to share my experience, because maybe this will serve as a lesson for this place to open there eyes and pay attention to properly treating the animals that are in their care. read more

What an unfortunate place. Our dog got sick and needed care at about 10pm. So put yourself in our shoes. We are rushing out the door to get emergency care, and we just need a 24h care place. We were told we made the right call, and they gave lots of treatment for our dog's condition. It was approximately 48 hours between us dropping our dog off and getting her back. While our dog is fine, we had to call the vet for every update. When our dog was returned to us, she had a severe abrasion on her nose, and she smelled simply awful. We were told when leaving that we could follow up with any questions we had, which we did... and never received a call back. However, when a small issue seemed like it might be related to our initial issue, they urged us to return to the hospital. Of course they did. There's something about this place that reeks of profit motive. They may or may not have saved my dog's life. I have no idea. I don't know because their elusiveness in contacting us made me not trust them at all. I've been a dog owner for my whole life. I've had vets in multiple states with a ton of dogs, and I've never had a dog returned to me from the vet stinking and hurt in a different way than I brought her in. If you're reading this, y'all, you need to call people back when you say you're going to, and you need to be responsive when worried pet parents call. When a sick dog comes in, you need to be PROACTIVE in contacting the owner, especially if you start to go outside the time frames established for that contact. read more

i can't say anything about the vets I am sure they are great - I left another place and decided to go here for second opinion our dogs neck was swollen and we would worry it would worsen during the night and it was after 6 . The ethics of the staff is questionable and they were rude and not empathetic . The staff lied on the phone and said they had multiple doctors and surgeons still in the office and specialists - happy to hear that we drove out and guess what we were the only other person in the waiting room , we waited an hour and checked and a half with no updates, I asked again how many doctors were in and lied to again they said multiple vets and specislists . when we asked how long do they think they said oh your next , ha sure as there was only one person in front of us . when I went up to the desk some time later they said there was an emergency it will be two and a half hours , I get an emergency yet they could have told us they didn't say that until I asked. then they said only one vet was there and all the assistants were helping that case . women was very rude I asked why lie and she said so you're going to another place , I said no can I go home and come back she's like no you're off the list then - the staff did not give an€{%]%] - they were so unempathetic . I would try a vet because they get good ratings we went home and took our chances hoping our dog doesn't get worse . it was awful how uninformative and uncaring the people we dealt with at the front desk were , we were worried , were lied to and they were indifferent. - I get emergencies but not being forthright and just informing us would have been the right thing to do shame on the women at the front desk for being rude read more
