I would usually have given this place 5 stars but you can never go there on a Sunday. I don't think on Sundays they have any management in the store. Been in there on 2 Sundays 3 months apart food is just bad on Sundays. Usually, the staff is friendly and they have good service. Food is better here than at any LJS we have been to. If I had to pick one to eat at it would be this one Monday through Saturday. Stay away from here on Sunday and all is good. read more

I treat the clergy at my church to dinner every Sunday and today they requested Long John Silver's. I placed an online order at approx. 12PM today for a same-day 3PM pickup. Upon placing the order I receive a phone call from a very rude woman demanding that I place my order 30 minutes before pickup instead next time. I was very apologetic and said I will absolutely do so in the future and I apologized for the inconvenience. During those 3 hours, I was called into the ER to see a patient suffering from a severe infection. As a result, I couldn't make it to the restaurant until approx. 4PM. Upon arrival, I encounter that same woman and immediately apologized for showing up late and stated that it's ok if the food is cold because I got held up at work. This same woman said someone else picked up my order (not true) and started demanding my ID, confirmation # and telephone number. I comply with her requests without protest and all the while, I continue to apologize. While she's preparing my order she's very loudly complaining to her staff about me, she was being rude to the other 3 elderly customers who came in after me and was just overall being an absolutey horrible person. Upon bringing me my order, I apologized yet again and she states "the next time you place an order at 3PM, be here at 3PM." At that point I'd had enough and told her "I will let my patient and their family know I will not be able to make it because I have a 3PM pickup at LJS that I can't be late for or the manager is going to treat me like a child." and I left. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life. LJS, from my understanding, is a family-friendly establishment, but this woman was treating myself and other customers like criminals. She was aggressive, nasty and intentionally offensive. I asked the clergy I had bought dinner for to please be mindful of the food because I'm not even sure it's safe to consume. Freshly battered fish at fast food prices. It's not a classy place and the outside looks like it could have used a refresh about 20 years ago. The AC at this location isn't great so it can be warm if you're eating inside on a hot summer day. The staff are friendly and service is quick. The seating area could use an update. I'd love to see them update or completely build a new store in this location. read more

Very disappointed! I will not be back! Ordered 3 piece fish which comes with 2 sides. I ordered French fries and coleslaw. I was told to pull up and they would bring it out. After a long wait I went in to see what the hold up was and found the staff joking and talking, not concerned about my food which was waiting to be boxed up. When I got home I found that they had forgotten to put the coleslaw in and there were hardly any fries and one of the fish had a burnt taste. Showed up at 8:30pm the doors were unlocked all the workers were inside sitting down they claimed they closed at 8 when online says 9pm the worker came outside and said "we closed" very disappointed I can't understand why they would all still be there if they closed at 8 seems to me they just didn't want to work but stayed on the clock for the last hour read more

Had never eaten here before. Figured I'd check it out for lunch. Some of the worst food I've ever had. Greasy, cold, and I'm not even sure it was real fish. Cost me almost $17. I could have went to a sit down restaurant and got real fish n chips for that price. Brought it home and my dog wouldn't even eat it. I realize that due to the current pandemic the inside of your restaurant isn't open. But our vehicle broke down and I walked to try to get something to eat while we waited for the tow truck. I called and they can't do that. They won't let me walk through drive through either. Other restaurants have a number to call and you can order over the phone. The food here is ALWAYS delicious. Staff is always nice. Came here 2 weeks ago at 1pm on a Saturday when they should've been open. They leave a sign on drive up speaker that says they are closed due to a lack of employees and would hope to reopen in the future. I have come to different Long John Silver Restaurants all my life. This one on Alpine south of Three Mile Rd. is outstanding. The fact that they are on "restaurant row" is a great thing. I really love the chicken planks and cole slaw. I usually get the #2 meal of 2 chicken planks, 2 fish and fries, (which are bar none, better then McDonalds). Then there is the cole slaw on that dinner that is knock dead awesome. I go at times, and am amazed the service is always great, and the staff is extremely friendly. The manager was out on the line the other day, watching things, so you know you're in for a great meal. read more

We pulled to the speaker tonight, (4/26/19), and waited for service. After 5 minutes, we pulled to the service window. Nothing. We knocked on the window 3 times. All we got were blank looks from the 3 employees, (1 young woman and 2 young men). It was 7:55 PM. Closing time was clearly marked as 10:00 PM. What is the reason? If they unexpectedly had to close, a quick trip to the window would have worked wonders. We moved on to Culvers, and spent our money there. Someone needs to check this out. We stopped on Friday night 10/25/19 at 7:56 and they had a sign on the door that said "Lobby closed for maintenance, drive thru still open." We looked through the window and someone was mopping the floor. Needless to say it was very disappointing since we had driven across town to have Long John Silvers. I worked at a couple of restaurants growing up and never once did we close the lobby during normal business hours to mop the floor. We ended up spending our money right across the road at Fazoli's. Great quick meal. Staff was polite and friendly. Restaurant was cleaner than most on Alpine avenue. Food quality was better than expected for a fast food seafood place. Great for lunch and something different. If the fries were hot, they would have gotten five stars from me. Wasn't expecting to be impressed but am glad I stopped in at 2pm. read more

I write this review while wholeheartedly hating that I must. I usually already have an extremely positive experience at LJS. However this time may be the exception not the rule. During my most recent visit with my wife on the evening of June 3, 2019 we were greeted by the manager who called himself Jonathan. We were promptly lefty for approximately 5 mins without having our orders taken at which time the drive-through cashier took our order. Once our orders were taken we proceeded to fill our drinks at the self serve soda fountain. My wife filled hers without incident but after I filled mine I left the filled drink on the wire frame overflow beneath the fountain to reach for a lid. No sooner had I looked away the drink had fallen onto my shorts and shoes leaving them soaked. It should be said that I am not a clumsy person nor was the drink perched precariously. It simply fell. The drive through cashier quickly came with napkins to attempt a clean up but the mess made was substantial. Not understanding how the drink had fallen I inspected the surface I'd placed it on. Low and behold, the wire frame overflow had a popped weld right where my drink had been placed which caused it to be unable to support the weight of a single drink. I mentioned and showed this maintenance discrepancy to the manager Jonathan and asked if there was anything he could do for me. He replied something to the extent of, "Well, that's just the nature of it. What would you like me to do?" I replied "I would like my meal paid for since my shorts are now soak with soda from your broken soda fountain." He said that he couldn't do that and attempted to blame the broken soda fountain on me. so i always go to this long john silvers .. today must of started on the wrong foot. i ordered a fish for 1.99.. going to forgo the fries ..as i have a health salt issue .. any how i tried to explain to the girl taking the order i wanted the 1.99 special .. i thought it came with two pieces of fish but no it doesn't .. so then i seen i was going no where and i went to the window .. where as i told her i just wanted the fish and she said it comes with fries.. i said well i 'd like two pieces of fish if she could for 1.99... next thing i know there is a man at the window prolly erasing all the orders she prolly made and then tells me 3.78... i gave up and drove off .. i really only wanted the one piece of fish.. and if it came with fries i didn't want the fries.. and if i couldn't sub the extra order of fish .. why was i not told this .. instead of all the drama .. read more
