I want to start by saying i love all the masseuse ladies :) in this place. the place is clean, their is a wall in between u and the client next to you. you get your own little room :). this (message is for the owner) to speak to the ladies doing there job. please, please, when people go to get a massage, all we want to hear is the soft music in the back ground and focus on the massage. i don't want to hear my masseuse talking up a storm in my ear while i'm trying to relax. the only communication the masseuse such have is with the clients and not your co-worker. please do not speak, giggle , and chat about your day while people are getting a massage. people go to get a massage to relax and think, but when i have my masseuse talking in my ear but is not to me, it defeat the purpose of a relaxing massage. the fact that 20 minutes into massage i have to tell you to stop talking then this is a problem. so, please no talking while the client is getting a massage please. read more

Have been coming here regularly for a few years. I've tried other massage places in the area, but this seems to be the most consistent in terms of quality of service and price so I've been coming back. I don't have a regular person that I go to, but that hasn't mattered much in terms of experience. It's a no frills massage place, and I usually come on a weekday after work. They are generally able to take a walk-in (I've never called ahead for a reservation). The rooms are standard what you would expect from an Asian massage place, so it's more like dividers separating the rooms rather than floor to ceiling walls. This means that you will hear the chattiness and other customers if it's busy. They play instrumental music and the ladies are generally quiet so it's easy to relax. I usually get a 1 hour full body massage for $50, and the ladies are pretty strong. It usually starts off as a dry massage with the cover over your back and then after a while they use oil to massage deeper, ending with a few minutes of hot stone. They do check in with you during the massage if you are okay with the strength of the massage or if you want it softer or harder. You can always tell them if it's too hard and they will adjust. You definitely get your money's worth at this place and it's a great way to unwind after a long week of sitting at a desk. read more

I went in because I've been having such a stiff neck. I asked about their $45 therapeutic body work deal and then said I wanted an hour session, she told me it was $50. The masseuse spent most of the hour on my back. She pressed in the same spots so much i thought it was going to leave a bruise. It also hurt. She used her fingers, palms, forearm, and elbow. Her nails were a little long so I could feel them scrape along my neck and her elbows were a little dry so I felt the dry skin that was lifting when she pushed her elbow into my back. I dont know if most place typically tell you when they remove parts of the sheet you lay under but she didnt and I felt so unexpectedly exposed when she did. The massage included hot stones! I've never had them used in a massage before, it felt so nice! She also stretched me at the end and i felt some cracks. Despite the session being a little painful, I felt much more limber and free when i sat up on the table at the end. I drank quite a bit of water when I got home to flush out everything the massage released but still felt pain in my back two days after. I'm going to shop around for other massage places before I go back because this is a great deal and I felt pretty good after this session but the 2 days of pain post massage was not ideal. I had a really disappointing experience today and I'm even upset I have to write this. Mind you, I have been coming here for several years, and always get the 90 minute massage. Today for some reason something told me to put a timer on my phone for my massage. At the end of my massage, my masseuse immediately went to another customer. My phone marked that the massage was only 85 minutes. When i went to the counter to pay, they tried to charge me for 90 minutes. It was only when I brought it up (that I tracked the time and my massage was shorter than what I asked), they agreed to giving me extra time next time. Regardless of the fact that Ive been a regular here, I am disgusted by this experience because I value integrity in business conducts. Why are you charging me for 90 minutes if you are only doing 85 minutes of work? Upon me bringing it up, the counter lady(manager?) promised to do an extra 5 minute next time but this still just does not sit right with me, considering that I have been coming here for so long. And this makes me wonder if they did this to my previous sessions or to other customers without knowledge. And imagine if I didn't track the time today myself-- I'm pretty much getting scammed lol. And I really don't like that the counter person looked at ME weird as if she was annoyed by what I brought up, when they are the ones doing this dishonestly. No apologies or nothing. It was such a strange and unprofessional encounter. I regret paying for the full 90 minutes because I should've just paid for 85 minutes. So I am leaving my truthful experience. I am open to updating the review if they keep their word for giving me extra time the next time I come back. That still does not take away from the fact that what they did was dishonest. I think it disturbs me more because Im a regular here. They have recently upped the prices for the services, too, which is not a problem. But if you're going to up the rates, at least they should meet the standards of business integrity. I rarely write reviews but had such a negative experience here that I want the community to be aware. I appreciate that the therapists are working hard but I am concerned they are not properly trained, not taking feedback and might injure others like they hurt me. 1) First of all, the massage started with a heavy blanket over me - I told the therapist multiple times to please take it off since it is too hot (it was a 90-degree day out). I know what I'm talking about since I got sick with heatstroke many years ago after a massage where I got overheated due to hot weather. 2) The therapist dug in repeatedly with her elbows. She used hot stones at the end - hot stones are awesome but why not use them at the beginning to actually loosen up the muscles? 3) At the end, she started PUNCHING ME IN THE HEAD. I immediately stopped her but had already been hit twice. Hitting someone in the head is not acceptable under ANY circumstances. I have had concussions and specifically came to try and relieve some tension in my neck and head; of course now I am dealing with new headaches and the stress of going through that. I had previously asked her to stop punching my back. 4) It took multiple requests to get her to massage my face and head gently at the end, and even then it was pretty rough. 5) I wanted to give some feedback to the therapist and owner after the massage (specifically about the head- punching because I was very shaken up from the experience). I had told the owner that I intended to tip anyway - I'm sure she depends on tips - but the therapist just yelled at me so I just left as quickly as I could. I'm tending to very sore muscles and headache today and hope to never experience something like this again. read more

They clearly know what they're doing, but I wish they used the hot stones longer and more places on the body (I think they just used it on the back). Please ask for the Foot Spa special with hot stone massage on the bottom of your feet and a gel, that's so refreshing that it'll make you feel soooo good. This place is super shady. To be honest I've had decent massages here but they ripped me off 2xs! The first time I went here she overcharged my card. I thought it was a mistake on my part with the pricing and the massage was fine so I went back later. The 2nd time (today) I had a massage and paid with card. Someone tried to transfer money from my account right after! It is 95% them cause I haven't used the card anywhere else in awhile. I'll admit it: I once went to a "happy ending" massage parlor in Vegas. I had always wanted to know what it was like. You know, for science. To break it down: the women were indeed Asian, but ludicrously ugly; the massage was a joke -- essentially a 1-hour preparation for its inevitable... conclusion; the music was Asian new-age and the space looked like a Dillard's dressing room; and, the prices would have a made a cruise ship masseuse blush. As far as the "ending" goes, you'll just have to ask me in person over a pint of ale. Interestingly, Long Teng reminded me of that shady Vegas parlor in many ways... every way aforementioned, as a matter of fact, except for the massage itself. No, there's no happy ending at Long Teng, but the massage itself is a wild ride through Painville that I'll not soon forget. As a little background, since I'm not sure what you're looking for in a massage, I should tell you that I need it rough. You see, I go to the gym nearly every day and I'll be damned if I don't push myself as hard as I can. After a few months of the routine, my back is tied in knots and my deltoids feel as though they're sticking to the middle of my clavicle. It gets awkward. It gets painful. Yeah, I could man up and deal, but the boy in me likes a quick fix. This lady fixed the hell outa me. The massage was the usual oils-and-hot-towels business, but to my surprise, it also involved the woman climbing onto my back and working my knots with all four limbs. Simultaneously. My face was pressed into the sterilized nose-hole-pillow so I couldn't see what kind of arachnid-acrobatics were going on back there, but I'd swear it had become a threesome. While we may never know what happened, my back is much looser than it was before the ordeal. I'm still experiencing a bit of the post-massage trauma, but overall I'd give the massage itself an A+. As I alluded, the space itself leaves a lot to be desired, but the massage was top-notch, and for $50 for the hour, it was quite reasonable. However, if you're looking to be pampered, stroked, and get a facial, this place is not for you. This is the kind of massage you get so you don't need to see a chiropractor. After a 15 hr flight from Abu Dhabi to NYC, my back was an absolute wreck. There were knots in my back where I didn't even know I had muscles. I was in agony and needed immediate relief. I need a woman who is going to dive in and get the knots out of my back and get me back up and running, so I can get back to living life in this amazing city (yes, I realized I used "back" in that sentence several times with different meanings; it's subliminal advertising; i may have just invented it). You can choose 10 minutes for $10, 20 minutes for $19, 31 minutes for $28, 46 minutes for $40, or 61 minutes for $50. Dear sweet mother of all that is good and holy I finally found it. The no bs'ing, no frills added, get the job done, pound out my knots massage therapy. I get a lot of tension headaches and find massages do the trick. However, I'm very picky and every place I've gone has never impressed or fully got the kinks out. I discovered this small place and took a chance. It's not some beauty spa that spends the first 30 minutes of the massage rubbing oil on your back and playing trickling creek sounds on the stereo. This is deep tissue stuff that works everything: neck, upper back, lower, back, legs, arms...places you didn't even know you needed work. You can call at just about any time and get an appointment relatively fast. The price is very affordable and well worth it. I go for the 61 minute massage and it's $50 a session. You walk out after feeling like you just had the crap beat out of you in the best way possible. I am a regular and wouldn't look for anything else. It doesn't get better than this. read more

Let me just say this, if you want to go here, only asked for SHINDY. She gave THE BEST massage I ever had and also a very nice young lady. I was hooked and has been coming back couple times. However, one time, i came there and she was busy with other customer. So i had to go with this older lady. But I dont know her name. Then, it ended up with THE WORST MASSAGE EVER IN MY LIFE!!! She is VERY DANGEROUS and HURT my muscle and skin so much. Long Teng is just a few doors down from my apartment and I would go every week for a massage. When I got pregnant (I'm 17 weeks), I stopped going because I wasn't sure if they could accommodate me. I don't know why I was afraid to ask. Well, today, I was achy and cranky and desperate. I went into Long Teng and to my great fortune, they were able to accommodate me and my growing pregnancy. The masseuse had me lie on my side while she massaged my shoulders, neck and back, legs and feet. It was such a wonderful and relaxing massage. Usually, the massage is quite vigorous and they really get the knots out, but for the prenatal massage, the masseuse was gentle and firm. I will definitely go back to my massage-a-week routine now that I know they can accommodate pregnant me. This makes me unbelievably happy! read more

Amazing bang for the buck, just as good if not better than some massages I've had at fancy resort spas. If I was rating my massage alone, this would be a full five stars. The atmosphere is zero frills, just simple tables behind curtains, but very comfortable and more importantly, very clean. I get a really uncomfortable spasm between my shoulderblades and neck once in a while, and I thought instead of suffering through it or popping pills, I would give massage a shot. I briefly explained this to my masseuse (I think her name was Cindy?) who nodded and smiled and proceeded to untangle my knots in a way nobody has ever before. Maybe I've never had a true deep tissue massage, but I was amazed at how she got in there and worked out the kinks. At first I had to suppress giggling when she climbed up and literally dug her knees into the small of my back, stretching out my shoulders with her elbows. But after ten seconds of that, I could literally feel my spasm melting away. It's about 24 hours later, and my spasm is completely gone. My back is definitely tender, which I understand is normal for a deep tissue workover. I've never had a better or faster response to bodywork, and that includes chiropractors. Yes I agree with some of the other reviews that you can hear street noise and intermittent beeping (if you're from the neighborhood, I even heard the HALLELUJAH! guy) but it didn't affect the quality of my massage. If you're looking for little waterfalls and cucumber water and pan flute music, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking to get a kickass massage on a budget, I don't think you can find a better place in NYC. read more

Let me first say that if you're getting a deep tissue massage and your muscles don't ache afterward, then your massage sucked. My regular lady was out of town and I was desperate for some back work, so I decided to come here before heading home. Wendy (I do not recommend the gentlemen that work here, somehow they are just not as in tune to what needs help) massaged me into jelly in 46 minutes. She really paid attention to where in my shoulders needed the most help and really worked them over. Okay so the 3 isn't for the massage. My massage was great! I loved the pressure and the lady's strong hands. The reason I am now degrading my rating is because you know when someone is talking about you, even when you don't understand the language!!! As I'm getting dressed, I could hear the lady who just finished my massage talking about me. I don't know what she was saying but I know I didn't smell (I showed right before heading there), and I didn't fart or do anything weird. But when came to the front, everyone stopped talking and just stared me up and down. I wasn't dressed crazy or anything. The front desk woman said something and one of the other women looked at me and stared to nod and say "yeah yeah." I'm not huge or skinny, so I don't understand why I was being talked about. Best damn massage I've ever had in the city. A tiny Asian woman beat the hell out of me and I loved every minute. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff and immediately seen, without an appointment. I initially opted for the half hour massage but it started off so well, that two minutes into the massage, I increased it to an hour. Wendy, you are my new angel. May did an awesome job getting my trainer's week of torture out of my back and neck - all in an hour and for $50. I love living in a place where you can conveniently find any service you need late at night. I was having some shoulder pain Sunday night and decided to search on Yelp for a cheap massage place that was open late. I found this place and gave them a call. I showed up before 10pm and was taken in right away. This is a no frills place that has small rooms that are partitioned of by curtains. The rooms are very basic and contain only the essentials, massage bed and not much else. I was shown to the room and left to undress. My massage person was Emma and she was really great! ! I explained that my right shoulder was hurting and that I wanted her to focus on that, she definitely took her time working on the knots on my shoulders but she was also great with the rest of my body as well. I liked that she went deep into my knots but kept checking with me to make sure that the pressure was not too much. Often times I've had a masseuse who just seems afraid to apply enough pressure to really work on the muscles. Afterwards my back and shoulders felt very sore but after 2 days I'm feeling much better! The prices here are great and so are the hours. If you're in need of a massage and don't care to spend extra money on a fancy spa then this is the place to try. read more

I get a lot of knots in my back, so I get a lot of massages. Long Teng has helped me through several semesters at Columbia and beyond. Located just a few blocks away from the southern edge of campus, it was always too convenient and so worth the money to go and get a 1 hour long massage. I'm not going the lie -- the first time I went I was somewhat wary of how sketchy it looks on the outside. But I powered through and thank god I did. This is a no bullshit kind of place that will pound out as many knots as possible in 60 minutes. The rooms don't have doors (only cloth curtains), there's no aromatherapy to soothe you, and the woman at the front can usually be found watching Chinese dramas, but Long Teng is still the best bang for your buck you can get in terms of massages, especially outside of Chinatown.
