I had had a pain in my calf for a few years that I accepted as a result of nerve damage I sustained from a car accident. I went to Natasha for a different problem in that calf. While working on the new problem, I asked if she could try to help the other. After two sessions, I haven't had that pain! She also helped with a chronic issue I have had in my toe AND gave me great advice regarding a lotion to relieve pain and positioning for my toes. I originally started going to Trevania because of tightness in my shoulders that was causing discomfort and making it hard sleep. Over the course of a few sessions, Trevania helped loosen the area significantly through a series of customized deep tissue massages. She also went out of her way to research and suggest other things I could try to address the root cause, including trying a different pillow, cupping sessions with another therapist, and even once gave me a list of several local bathhouses for distressing from work. Waned to buy a gift certificate as a birthday gift. Called ahead of time, was informed that they will be closing early. I stated the time at which I would arrive. The person I spoke to (who said she was the only one there today) said that she would be there. Travelled an hour from Brooklyn, arrived on time, only to find the place closed. What a waste of my time. I will be leaving my money elsewhere today and will never go back or recommend to anyone. If the person I spoke to is not the business owner, I would seriously consider whether her employment at this business is benefitting the place. I got an excellent massage from Karen this morning. I had booked a sports massage but explained that I also had some tension in my body due to work, and I feel like she did a great job understanding my body and giving my calves (from running) and back (from work) the attention they really needed. The space has no frills, but the space is comfortable. At some point during the massage, I could hear a door slam in the office next door, but otherwise I felt undisturbed. I've struggled with a "bad" shoulder for years, but after I started to lift weights, I needed to do something, as the pain and problem started to migrate down my shoulder blade and upper back.. By coincidence, I found remedy massage - and booked an appointment with Ajah.. His hands are magical!! The first 2 months I had weekly treatments, and after that, I was there every 2 or 3 weeks.. The difference was clear already after 2 treatments - and now it seems that the extra muscles I've build by lifting and the treatments have "straightened" my back.. I must agree with Nerma's review. I'd try this salon again post pregnancy, but my prenatal massage was one I was praying would be over almost as soon as it began. Honestly, my masseuse was younger and a very cute girl. BUT! She was texting on her cell when I arrived which was totally fine; it might have been a scheduling thing. But then I went to the bathroom in 5 seconds flat, and she was back on it. Then the cell kept vibrating messages through out my massage. As for the massage itself, hard pressure is not what I was looking for. It's really got to be a relaxing experience where you get pampered rather than leave feeling really sore. There was one spot in my back where I swear she was digging into my kidneys. I had to ask her to stop so many times. My body even started cringing from pain. We just didn't connect. She wasn't picking up what I was putting down. It was a painful time and I really left disappointed. After saying "maybe not so hard and so long" on multiple spots, I just gave up and hoped for the best. Then for the extra time I booked, she had me lay at an obtuse angle against some sorta wedge so that the entire baby was pushing on my cervix. I've done pregnancy massages before and was kinda shocked that she thought that this would be comfortable for someone in their 3rd trimester. It seemed so novice. I had to explain why I was uncomfortable the whole time and I never got any feedback like she understood. All this being said, this was just one massage artist. I cannot attest to all of them. I think the idea of the salon is right, priced well, the location is ideal, and the room was clean. And I read other reviews that gave this place great marks. So just perhaps avoid if you are pregnant unless you want to see for yourself. Or if you are pregnant, I would ask the owner to help you choose your massage therapist. read more

I had an "emergency" massage at Remedy today with Stefanie after I spent the last week with horrible neck and shoulder pain due to stress. I was able to book yesterday easily via their website for a spot today. So while this is not a last minute option and it's unlikely that anyone will answer the phone when you call, it is easy to book online in advance and on somewhat short notice. The location is quiet and calming. It is not a spa, so there are no frills. But the room is immaculately clean and the white noise and light instrumental music is soothing. Stefanie was amazing. She is small but mighty! She helped me so much with my pain and gave me tips on how to further alleviate the pain. When I wanted to talk, she was happy to chat and the conversation was great. When I quieted down, she also took that as her cue and there was silence, which was so appreciated. I give her service five stars and I will never get a massage at spa again knowing how powerful and healing it is to go to a massage therapist. read more

I finally decided to treat myself to a prenatal massage. After much searching, and almost going to a place in Brooklyn, I found Remedy Massage; cheaper than any place I found in Manhattan. I arrived a couple of minutes late because the train was stalled. The lady who answered the phone was sweet and understanding. I still made good time and Marcie greeted me at the door. She was petite with a sweet demeaner and soothing voice. She explained everything and made me feel very comfortable. The massage table and cuchions were comfortable, the sheets were cool, and the atmosphere in the room was relaxing and soothing, with peaceful, meditation music. The massage was soft and gentle. If I had been feeling discomfort I would have asked for more pressure and I'm sure Marcie would have been very accommodating. Every part of the massage was wonderful but my favorite was the scalp massage. People forget that the scalp needs loving too and it's all too often neglected. Massaging the head instantly relaxes the entire body. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will make time for frequent visits in the future. read more

Amazing prenatal massage. I had a massage here every week during my last month of pregnancy and it was truly fantastic each time! They have a nice set up where you can lay on your stomach - no hole in the table- but more of a comfortable pillow set up.
