I did the 75 minute back, head and foot massage. I paid in advance and she spent the entire massage trying to sell me upgrades and make me pay for "massage oil" and "cupping". the back massage was nice, but the head massage was just her scratching my head with her nails as hard as she could for the full 15 minutes, no massage at all and it was actually painful. Then the foot massage was 2 seconds of massage and the rest of the time just her slapping my calves and feet, it did not feel good and was not relaxing. All that to say, because I avoid confrontation-- when it came time to tip I still planned to at least leave a $10 tip, even thought the experience was not relaxing--and when I gave her the tip she stopped and told me I couldn't leave anything under $15 and tried to tell me I couldn't leave without leaving that much. I had to repeatedly say that I was only going to leave $10 and they were expressing their displeasure with me as I walked out. Overall not a great experience. Update: I'm writing this the next day and just want to add on that the head scratching was so rough that she left cuts on my scalp from her nails. There was dried blood in my hair when I brushed it out and went to shower. If I could get a full refund at this point, I would. I would never recommend going here. read more

Genuinely shocked at the experience I just had. I booked a 9pm massage because this place is open late and I was coming from an extremely rough 12 hour hospital shift. The appointment was confirmed via text but when I showed up they acted like they had no idea I was coming and were completely put out. They dropped me off in the massage stall (because there aren't true rooms) and then left me waiting naked on the table for 20 minutes. I actually was about to change and leave when the masseuse finally came in and rushed me down. Not even 10 minutes into the massage she left for another five minutes, and midway through the massage paused multiple times to try to upsell me on things. Best part came at the end when she refused my 20 percent tip, and insisted on $30 because it was late. I was so exhausted and out of it and not even willing to fight at that point after such an uncomfortable experience and when I got home realized she'd tipped herself $40 on an $85 bill. Genuinely unbelievable and I'm honestly tempted to dispute the credit card charge. Please please please beware! This place is an absolute joke. I came to J&H Body Spa for a massage and left in more pain than I arrived with. It felt like they had no idea what they were doin.. just random, painful pressure like they were trying to bruise me on purpose. To make it worse, the whole place smelled like shiT literally. Not relaxing, not clean, just disgusting. And to top it all off, they forced me to leave a $20 tip. Yes, forced!!!! even after that awful experience. I came a few times. And I'm giving them 3 stars because of the following : the first time I went, there was an open crockpot with food in it in the bathroom. So that was a turn off. The next time I went, the 2 masseuses were chatting away while I was having a massage. And then the other lady started heating up her food in the microwave. The place is very small, so the place smelled of food. It is a shame because they do give a great massage and the price is right. I came here on spec as I had pulled a muscle in my spine, moving large cartons onto a truck for onward transmission to storage, earlier in the day. First of all, they only charged me $35 for a full half hour, and the lady REALLY knew what she was doing! Even though the base of my spine was hurting so badly going in, and I was limping, I left there almost ready to turn cartwheels! Within a day or so, I had completely recovered - to such a degree that there was no pain whatsoever, and I had trouble remembering the exact area where the problem had originated. What REALLY made me emotional was the fact that, later that night, i realized that I had lost my pendant! It was a gift from my (now deceased) mother, who was an Attendant at my Ordination as a Minister in 2007. She had flown in from the UK especially to be there and to give it to me. Not really expecting anything, I rushed back to J & H Body Work, quite late, to see if I had left it there. Without a word, the lady who had done my massage handed it straight back to me. I was BEYOND grateful! And she wouldn't even accept any extra money from me for her honesty. This place is AMAZING. The people are talented, and honest, and I am indebted to them. I will be back. It had been over a year since I have had any body work, because of the pandemic. I have been extra achy lately and was at the point today where I decided, I needed to get a massage. I called ahead and was told to come right in. Sally was my massuse. I LOVED her. She understands anatomy and the muscles, and can sense with her hands where the problems are, and then make them disappear. A true miracle worker. During the massage, I also got cupping done. The whole experience was fabulous. It cost me $80 for a hour and 15 minute massage and cupping. The massage was so soothing physically and mentally. I left feeling like a new human. This is the perfect self-care treat to yourself. I will definitely return here and I will definitely request Sally again. read more

Got an appointment the following morning. Don't come here if you seek actual relaxation??? I wish I had the spoken up and requested a woman. The man (assuming he was the manager / owner since he was answering the phones mainly) was going so HARD on my body. Like wtf??? Mf didnt even ask if the pressure was okay or anything? It was hurting so bad like you know when your shoulders start going up because you start feeling anxious/stressed? Thats how I started to feel. I had to ask him to lighten up the pressure. I made everyone laugh because I said he was going too strong but aint shit was funny lol because why are you actually hurting me? Iunt like how they do business, they have a mandatory $10 tip but this guy literally answered every phone call to schedule appointments / taking away time from my service. When I arrived at the place, I told the person at the greeting area we had an 8pm appointment. This place is brutal for many reasons..you've been warned. Very small, cramped space and unprofessional staff. My masseuse was talking to the front attendant multiple times during the session. And she uses her elbows so strongly that it causes so much pain even though I objected a few times. Then during the massage at times the force used was a bit much and the place was soooo cold my hands and feet were freezing. It is located in a block surrounded by massage places. This place is small but they provide large strength and know how to to work the knots anywhere. I couldn't believe a 30 min massage gave me the same benefits as an 1 hr massage I normally get. 30 min massage was $28 and I added cupping for $20 it was a good combo roughly 45 mins and gave $18 tip. Attempted to go here last Sunday because I found a Groupon for a couples massage, which I booked for 2pm. When my partner and I arrived, we were told that they were "very busy" (despite me not seeing or hearing another soul in this rundown hole-in-the-wall) and one of the workers asked us to come back roughly 30 to 45 mins later. After killing time at Starbucks, we returned only to be told ONCE AGAIN that they were still "very busy" and we should come back at 3:30. Are you kidding me? What was the point of making the reservation then? Complete amateur hour idiots. On the way out I happened to notice a rat scurry by inside this landfill masquerading as a massage parlor, and in hindsight, makes me glad I never set foot more than a few feet into the front door. Avoid at all costs, unless you want both your time and money wasted. An utter train wreck run by imbeciles. It's a shame that Yelp doesn't allow you to give middle fingers instead of stars; if they did, this dump would get 5/5. read more

I was walking in the neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon and looked on the internet for a place near by that offered foot rubs. I walked a lot the day before and my feet were aching. I stopped into J&H Body Work with no appointment. The lady who greeted me was very nice and the ambiance was relaxing. I got a foot rub for 30 minutes and it was amazing!!! It was one of the top 3 massages I've ever had. Even though I live down the block from a national massage chain location, I will now go to J&H every time I want a massage.
