I called these plumbers because my pilot light on my hot water heater would not stay lit. They came…read moreout the next day and told me it was probably the thermocouple and it would need to be replaced. No testing of the part was done as I watched them before their diagnosis. They did not have the part on their truck and told me another tech of theirs's was bringing the replacement part out to my house. The techs waiting for the part to arrive. In the meantime they stood in my driveway and smoked cigarettes and talked for an hour and a half before the part arrived. It came, they installed it and charged me a $165.00 service call and $25.00 for the part. Total was $190.00. That evening we noticed we had no hot water again. I checked the pilot light and once again it was out. I called the next morning and let Jen know I had no pilot light or hot water. They wanted to charge me for another service call to come out and this time replace the gas control valve on my hot water heater. They did tell me they would only charge me half of a service call since they had been out the day before and did not fix the problem. I inquired about possibly having my hot water heater replaced because by the time I paid them for another part and another service call, I was approaching the cost for a new hot water heater. Jen told me she would look up the price of the control valve and put together a price for a new hot water heater if that was needed and call me back. I waited for two days for Jen to call back. I had no hot water in the interim. Because Jen failed to call back like she said she would, I had to hire another plumber, pay an additional service charge to have the problem fixed. They seemed to be nice enough people but they did not fix the problem and wanted more money to come out.

Then I had the opportunity to work with "Take the Plunge Plumbing". Situation: My daughters exterior Rinnai Tankless Water Heater exploded. I use American Home Shield (AHS) home warranty. They assigned Take the Plunge Plumbing. Action: The water was off in the house and this call was expedited. The company was on time, kept me in the loop and always professional. I give that credit to the Owner and Tequila their associate. Follow-Through: AHS wanted a second opinion most likely because the entire unit needed to be replaced. Another company came one week later which left me without water for a week. Take the Plunge Plumbing still came back and attempted to get the manufacture to replace the unit on warranty. Conclusion: AHS gave the entire job to the second company. Completely unfair to Take the Plunge Plumbing. I offered to pay them for their extra time, and they refused. That was quite kind of them. The way they dealt with me throughout this very frustrating process was outstanding. The only other review for this company is a person who did not like the way a truck was driving. My review is dealing directly with this company. I will use them in the future, they are credible, and family owned. Eat well, drink well and always stay healthy.

Its totally worth it to become a member because things can go wrong at the worst time and you know who to call. Im happy. Today I have hot water. The staff has always been courteous, knowledge and they get the job done. There are all kind of other benefits that come with the membership so you should call and set it up. Its horrible to run around at the last minute trying to figure out who will fix your problem. Guess what, they do it all. We have had the same problem with our plumbing for over a year now. We have had countless people come out from Xcalibur to look at the problem and we have paid them almost $3,000 in total and nothing has been fixed. The first encounter was in December of 2024. I even paid for the VIP service because I was told that the VIP would help us get quicker appointments. We paid every quote we were given, and we did everything Xcalibur recommended. We even got our septic tank cleaned out unnecessarily because they recommended it. I first became frustrated with Xcalibur in January of 2025, because we had so many people come out and everyone assured us that the problem was fixed when they left. At that time, we were quoted $2,335 to fix the problem that we had been assured was already fixed. I wanted to use another company because I felt like we were getting the run around, but Xcalibur assured me that this would fix our problem. I was told that the company stands by their work and that they offer a warranty on their services. I reluctantly agreed to the work because they were so nice and I trusted them at their word. We were told everyone who had come out before from their company did not know what they were doing, but this plumber was the "fixer" and would make everything right. When I asked for a copy of the warranty, I was emailed a copy of the invoice only. Over a year later, and the problem is still not fixed. We had someone come out last week from Xcalibur, because the problem resurfaced yet again. Not only is there not a warranty on the work done by Xcalibur, but we paid almost $400 for a camera to be run (for a second time by Xcalibur). We were then provided a verbal quote for well over $10,000.00. I was again told that everyone who had come out before had no idea what they were doing but THIS would be the fix. The suggested quote included going through concrete and ripping our floors up. The flooring work was not included in the quote. At this point I have lost all trust in Xcalibur as they have repeatedly lied, and they do not stand by their work. They clearly do not even think their past plumbers did a good job. They clearly only care about money as they continually come out and quote more and more each time. The $400 we paid last week (on top of the money we have paid to them previously) did absolutely nothing, because only a few days later the problem was back. I called another company and they came out quickly and they were so incredibly professional. Everything Xcalibur failed to do in over a year has been fixed in only a few hours and around $750.
