About Me: I've always been pinned as injury-prone and was diagnosed with chronic ankle sprains by a Podiatrist. I've run a half marathon with an ankle brace and developed a runner's knee. Name a muscle strained or sprained, I have had them all. The L Ankle has been my major issue and with 12 hours on my feet with little to no rest/sitting in the hospital. I checked off all the symptoms of heel pain (Plantar Fascitis). I've tried insoles, compression socks, and more cushioned shoes but they were only a temporary fix. YouTube PTs and IG PT exercises only get you so far as they aren't customized for you. I was recommended here by a respected IG PT, who is a colleague of Gary. The location of his business was out of my range and gave me a contact for an Orange County location in Fullerton. Thus I followed LPI and the final straw was a promotion of 3 visits free of charge IF the client results were not pleased with improved pain of 50% or better. It was a gamble as it is a cash-based establishment, meaning the full amount out of pocket vs. other PTs accepting insurance (which would cost me only $20 copay). I've had PT to rehab a severe ankle injury from worker's comp. and it was a great first experience with PT, but I was left desiring more of an athletic/sport-based approach. Cost: $$ 5-10% off in packages of 3 or more visits. It is a steep rate, but Gary's insight and approach put me at ease. He allows package visits to be split into payments rather than full payment. Per Visit: -There is a phone consultation before the first appointment. It is very thorough and Gary wants to know ALL of your medical ailments to best provide the care for you. -During the visits, he performs assessments on both sides of the body to check for alignment and mobility percentages for a before and after comparison check from the prescribed exercises. - It is to be noted that there will be no TENS, manual therapy, or ice at LPI as they are geared towards movement during an injury to increase blood flow. You will be given exercises and a modified version if you are unable to perform. - It is geared and customizable for you! I came in with a few strains leading up to a session, and while my main goal was to lessen/have no pain in my R heel. Gary added exercises that can alleviate pain and improve mobility in the strained areas. -Gary shares a Google doc of all the exercises and updates them after each session with cues and descriptive notes. Conclusion: - I have completed 9 sessions and I can complete my daily activities, work, and fitness with less caution of another injury occurring. The pain in my R Heel is considerably less and my L ankle has been sprain-free since the start of the program in late July 2023. - Even with the cost as it is, this location is a must and an investment in your health! - His passion and genuine care for my well-being give me the strength to overcome my weaknesses. We set goals and checked them off, one of them being to implement plyometrics to strengthen and increase agility. - The learning curve was tough, and trusting the process adds value to his scope of practice. Never once had I felt rushed to leave at the end of the session. Gary answers all my questions and exhibits phenomenal service not only as a provider but as a friend. read more

I have had tendinosis in my knee for about a year with no success anywhere getting it to improve. I started seeing Gary in January. He developed an exercise program and worked on my knee from a holistic level and the improvement has been great! I have been able to get back on the pickleball court and the knee discomfort is almost completely gone. In my opinion he has a high level of competency and integrity. I would highly recommend him. Gary is the best PT I've worked with. I worked with a few PT's in the past, but Gary's approach to getting me back to where I was, and plan for getting me stronger was better than any I've experienced. During my first appointment with him, I was greeted with a friendly smile, and started chatting. I'm usually not a fan of small talk, but it was really easy talking to him, cause the way he talked to me exuded a deep care for both my injury and who I was, which was a rare feeling. He then asked me several questions about my back injury, and asked me to perform different movements to pinpoint the source of the pain...turns out the injury was rib sprain. He then had me do a few exercises, explaining how different movements and habits could've caused the injury, and how the exercises he had me perform would help me recover. A couple appointments and weeks later, I'm pretty much fully recovered, and come away with a better understanding of my body, and how to improve it. Meeting with Gary was the best choice I could've made for my recovery, so if you're looking for a kind and knowledgeable PT, he's your guy. read more

While running the OC Marathon in May 2024, I had a sudden hip injury come out of nowhere. I'd never been to physical therapy before, but I knew I needed to go if I wanted to get back to running. The amount of positive reviews for Dr. Gary persuaded me to give him a try. Now, after working with him from May to December, I can definitely say that all of those reviews were right. Dr. Gary is great! He really listens to you and works with you to reach your goals, while being realistic. Dr. Gary made sure that I was able to make a safe return to running, without pushing my body before it was ready. Dr. Gary helped me out tremendously. I went because I had weird nerve sensations throughout my leg, from the consultation he gave me confidence that it's not likely anything more severe and something we can work on. The sessions were focused on building a routine at home to ensure the issue gets fixed and stays that way. Gradually after loosening up, we began muscle building to reinforce the work that was done. Dr. Gary is very intentional with gradual, proper progress as opposed to rushing into everything at once. Which also helps w/ developing a routine you keep because you're not burnt out by the amount you have to do. Ultimately my issues were taken care of and I liked it so much that I'm proactively taking care of anything else I've dealt with in the past to make sure they don't come up again and keep my body as young and mobile as possible. I worked with Gary after spraining my foot badly during dance practice. He was extremely proactive in assessing what was causing my pain to help me get back on my feet. I've been having lower back pain for the past several years. Decided to reach out to Gary at LPI about it and we were able to get a session in very quickly after I called. He asked me several questions about my pain and the history behind it so that he can get a better understanding of not just where the pain is but why there is pain. Dr. Gary has been a game changer for my achilles tendinitis. I was experiencing tightness and pain in my achilles after playing basketball for the first time in a long time. I thought it might have been temporary, but the pain persisted and so I reached out to Dr. Gary. During our first meeting, Dr. Gary diagnosed the problem and quickly started to recommend rehab exercises. I was amazed at the insight that he gave. He pointed out problem areas in the mechanics that led to this injury, and worked to holistically fix them so that the mechanics of my movements would lead to healing, better athletic performance, and a reduced risk of injury in the future. I felt the pain and discomfort diminish after just our first meeting! As I have continued to meet with him and keep up with the rehab movements, I have been able to recover quickly, even being able to play basketball regularly again. Dr. Gary is friendly, insightful, and really puts in the extra work to make sure that your rehab regimen is leading to results, so that you can be at your best again. I stumbled upon Longevity after seeing them on IG and figured I'd give it a try since they had a promo too. This was my first PT experience so I was pretty nervous and wasn't sure what to expect. I've been pretty frustrated with a hamstring injury while trying to train towards a half marathon that I went in to get checked out. Gary was a huge help in confirming what kind of injury I had and what kind of movements resulted in that type of pain. He was super kind and explained what he was looking for and the purpose of some of the exercises he had me do. I have been working with Gary for a few months after sustaining multiple over-use injuries from years of powerlifting. Our entire interaction has been virtual, including his initial diagnosis of my issues, explanation of exercises and review of my performance. Being able to do this over live videos speaks both to his medical knowledge and bedside manner. He is always open to listening and takes his time during the entire process. I have dealt with overwhelming knee tendinopathy and adductor pain that he has helped me rehab. Adding him in my corner as I prepare for competitions has been a no-brainer. His understanding of weightlifting and exercises gives him the right mindset when assisting me through my injuries. No one rehab exercise or movement will allow me to squat, bench or deadlift over 500 pounds, but doing so pain-free and with better movement quality is what matters. This is something not all traditional physical therapists understand. The exercises he assigns are not generic movements that I can follow online, but exercises that seamlessly supplement and enhance my original training program. I work directly with Gary every visit instead of being supervised by a physical therapy assistant. The name says it all, "longevity" and "performance". I have had a long battle with back pain. I have been a runner my whole life. Now I have knee, back and bunion pain, I feel the pain is connected somehow. I had gone to chiropractor, acupuncturist, and physical therapies to treat each individual pain. I have worked in the medical device industry focused on bracing, because of the isolate diagnosis, even with connection within the industry I haven't understood how my unique physiology contributed to my pains. My quality of life is reduced from self diagnose and treat, then go to a professional to treat and wait for the pain to subside and it is not a solution for me. After years of weakness, fatigue, and a numbing sensation in my left arm, shoulder, and back, I finally decided to work with a PT. I was able to book a session with Gary and I'm so glad that I did. First, Gary is just an awesome guy. He's extremely friendly, communicative, and you can tell that he actually cares about his patients. After going through some discovery questions about my injury, he performed several tests and had me do exercises to help diagnose what the issue may be. For so long, I thought I just had huge knots and maybe a sprain that didn't heal properly but as it turns out, it was completely different! I have a nerve that's compressed between my scalene and first rib, which I didn't even know existed. Gary was great at explaining the issue, as well as the purpose of the exercises he had me do. After the session, he sent me a program with exercises to work on at home. Long story short, I've felt more relief and improvement in the one hour I spent with Gary than the years chiropractor visits and massages to get rid of the "knot." How do I know this? We tested it out with compound movements, including bench presses, that have been the most impacted by this issue! After all these years, I was trying to treat the wrong thing and Gary was the only person to pinpoint the actual problem. My only regret is that I didn't book an appointment sooner. As a high school soccer athlete, I am constantly competing, practicing, and training. A couple months ago, I hurt my back while performing a slide tackle in a game that forced me to sit out for the rest of that game. The next day after my injury, I was able to contact Gary immediately and schedule an evaluation with him. Not knowing what the exact issue with my back, I was able to talk with Gary and he was able to point out exactly what the source of pain was. I've struggled with multiple long-standing injuries that make focusing on any single issue challenging. I've seen a lot of PTs over the past few years, and Gary's ground-up approach in considering different injuries and how they affect each other together has greatly improved my pain levels and exercise ability more than anyone else I have worked with. Gary is thorough with diagnosis and takes a lot of care to identify the underlying root causes of symptoms beyond surface-level factors, and has picked exercises to target these underlying causes with great specificity. For example, a quick Google search can identify simple ankle mobility exercises post-ankle-boot, but Gary has helped find exercises that target my specific mobility deficiencies. Everything feels extremely tailored to my experience and progress. He also has high attention to detail in ensuring that exercises are done correctly. Gary takes an evidence-based approach with measuring how effective our rehab plan is against my ability to perform benchmark exercises, so we can see the effect that treatment has within an individual session and course correct quickly if something isn't working. I can also see how those benchmarks improve over time, giving me confidence that our treatment plan is working. I ask a lot of questions during our sessions, and Gary always gives me detailed answers. I feel like I have a strong idea of why we're doing what we're doing at any given time. Working with Gary also doesn't feel like it ends when our sessions end. He answers texts and emails quickly and will never hesitate to review a video of me performing our exercises at home. This constant feedback loop gives me confidence in my ability to follow through on our rehab programs. After I dislocated my elbow in a wrestling match, he helped me get range of motion and strength back ASAP. He helped me with my dislocated shoulder, which was an especially difficult issue as I slightly injured both of my shoulders and was a bit of a wreck when I first came to see him.
