I kind of missed the vibe of the old place though. When we arrived they tried to seat us at a little dark table on a back wall in the back. Nope, can't have it. They had plenty of tables in the bar area set but said they didn't have service in that area. We waited for a better table which only took few minutes. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful. At his suggestion we both ordered one of the Molcajete bowls. It's a lava rock bowls that comes out scorching hot and stays that way. One Molcajete Mexicano which had beef, pork, and shrimp with peppers and onions. The other was the Carne Borracha. It's beef with onions and peppers in a red sauce. They come with corn or flour tortillas. Beans and rice are the sides. We started with the table side guacamole and it was delicious. In a short time the bowls came out. It's quite a presentation. Bubbling and packed with food. Both dishes were excellent. The margaritas were good as well. They make their own juice mixes, all fresh ingredients. None of that bottled stuff. It a great place for a Mexican dinner. I took a star off for the seating issue. Otherwise it a 5 star for us.

Ordered the guacamole table side appetizer and asked for medium spicy. It was so good. Next we ordered the ribeye steak fajitas served medium rare with onions bell peppers and delicious steak. Definitely worth the extra charge for steak. Flour tortillas and side of sour cream guacamole and choice of beans. Server was over the top friendly and very good. Highly recommend this restaurant if in the area.

Walking from the waiting area to the seating down that tunnel is pitch black. Both me and the wife were bumping into the walls. Maybe a little more light? Had to turn on cell phone light. Once you get into the restaurant it's better and your eyes start to adjust. The music was great and perfect for the scene, but too loud and needed to be turned down. When you're with family and friends and want to chat and keep saying "what?" the entire time, too loud. We aren't there to listen to music. The drinks were incredible. The Brown Butter Old Fashioned....crazy good. One of best Old Fashioned I've had and that's my go to. Apps. were really good. Expand your menu just a little. Street tacos! If you can do tostadas then you can do street tacos, not that big of an adjustment. The apps are a little pricey, but good. Biggest complaint and it made me torn between 4 or 5 stars was something so small but annoying just the same. The wife and I ended up paying almost $150 bucks between drinks and food. Charging us $3.50 to use a credit card? Thats just crap! Your food and drinks are expensive, don't nickel and dime people. High end places don't do it...

The ceviche was hands down the best I've ever had: fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. What truly set this place apart, though, was the people. Second time was a week later so we could take my niece for her birthday. I love trying new places and checking out their specialty cocktails. They have very unique cocktails with very unique names. Each cocktail has a fun story or description to it as well. They were all very tasty. My favorite, so far, is the Trust Fund Tiki. That is a dangerously good drink. Many of the drinks also come in very fun or classy looking glasses. So far, I have had, along with the drink I have already mentioned, the Cheeky Cheeky, the Porn Star, Irish Goodbye, and the Flirt in the Fruit Isle. They are all delicious and unique in their own ways. The bartenders are a blast too. We had great conversations with them and joked around. The second time we went we got food. I got the fried oysters, my husband got the chicken wings, my niece got the salad and her boyfriend got a chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh and they were cool and brought out my oysters right as they were ready so I had them nice and fresh. The decor... what can I say? Swanky, cool, fun, lots of conversation pieces. We will definitely be back.
