Chicken tacos my wife took one bite and said they tasted horrible and not fresh
Jason S.

Last night was pretty excited to try this place out due to the 4 star rating on Yelp! Walking in all things seemed to be good lots of TVs with the games on and a few open tables. The tables are 1st come 1st serve which is fine seeing we found one right away. The ambience of the place is open with lots of seating at tables, high tables and at the bar. This is a classic looking sports, brew house bar/vibe. After being seated we were greeted by our very friendly waitress Christy and is the only reason for the extra star. She was super friendly and outgoing and immediately felt great about being here. Plus they have a great on tap and can selection of beers, seltzers and cider including some wine offerings as well. So things are still looking up and now that the adults all have some beverages all things are still looking good. Plus want to mention another high point before I get to my food experience. There was another waitress working with a flat brimmed hat, Oregon beavers t shirt and twin pony tails. She was awesome and helped us get the Boise Star Bowl game for us...her personality was great! So now your reading and question why the 2 star and it comes right down to the food. Looking at other reviews it starts adding up to why. What also has changed is the super limited menu now which is nothing like some of the pictures on line. For appetizers we had both dry rub and buffalo chicken wings along with their pub fries. The chicken wings were so gummy and in some cases not cooked well and had a microwave taste to them. Our family is huge chicken wing fans and these were not good and all 6 of us felt the same. It's a rare occasion with our family to have any chicken wings left and after a few bites no one wanted anything to do with these. For dinner my wife had the chicken tacos and took one bite and said these are disgusting and they must be using the same gummy microwave chicken meat. Plus the guacamole that was served with hers was actually brown on top. My daughter and son in law both had the carnitas tacos and both said it tasted like it came out of a microwave. Now this is not just a fluke and tells me they might not have a real kitchen in the back and this is all prepared foods out of pancaking that is just heated up. Then the pizza...I had the meat combo and added mushrooms and while flavorful it was under cooked and it I was going to give it a pizza review it would've been a 4.0 out of 10. Plus to add insult to injury after not really liking the food overall with tip $200 down the drain. Christy got a great tip from me because this wasn't her fault and maybe the owners should taste the food that comes out and if you do and you think this is great please get out there and experience what great taste likes. It's a shame because this whole are newly being here is starving for great locally owned spots for locals to chill and hang in. I would come back for a beer and watch a game but most likely not for the food....

a slice of pizza with avocado and cheese

I can't believe I've been living 2 miles from this place for the last 2 and a half years and this was my first time visiting! Twisted Timber checked all my boxes for an A+ evening. If I could more than 5 stars, I would. For drinks my husband tried a Lush IPA (7% ABU, 80 IBU, Fremont Brewing) and I downed 2 glasses of Bourbon Barrel Peach Cider (6.9% ABV, Tieton Cider Works). It was the perfect balance of tart from the apples and sweetness from peaches. Super crisp and refreshing. I could have drank more if I wasn't DD. For food, we split a Buffalo Pizza with Cauliflower Crust (10", Buffalo sauce, chicken, olive, spinach, and avocado, $16.00) and baked sweet potato fries ($5.95). Okay, if I'm being completely honest here I have to say I have my suspicions about the cauliflower crust because it was just too damn good! I've had cauliflower crust that was absolutely horrendous but you know what you're getting yourself into. The avocados were a nice touch and these were fresh! No browning or bruises on any pieces. It honestly was a really pretty piece of food. The sweet potato paired excellently. They were cooked to crispy perfection and served with delicious fry sauce. I'll come back just for some cider and fries! We both walked out more than satisfied and agreed this is somewhere we may very well began to frequent on the regular. I definitely recommend Twister Timber to everyone!

Food was great and the service was very friendly. Loved the food here! All the TVs work and the dining area is very clean!

Nice pub. The bar is a little too small for eating and drinking but the high tables are good. Look on the back of the paper drink menu for additional food options. We missed that at first and our server said a lot of people do. We both ended up changing our order once we saw those options. - Italian sandwich is solid if a bit uninteresting. Hoagie bread could be better. - Margarita pizza is very good. - Snowboarder Porter is excellent. Good service. Easy parking but maybe the gym next door takes up a lot of spaces?

This is our local hang out. We love grabbing a beer, lunch or dinner. The staff has always been so friendly and the food is always consistent. Our favorite is their pizza and the nachos. They also always have great beer on tap.

A couple of my friends showed up first, got a great table outside and ordered a couple apps to get the party started. I showed up after goodies and drinks were ordered. We started off with some chips and salsa and pountine. The chips and salsa looked good but the pountine was definitely calling my name! I love me some potatoes and these potatoes looked like they were going to be right up my alley! I dished up a good portion before my friends got some. They were kind to let me plate first cause of my new kidney. I didn't want to be too greedy so the portion I got was a few bites. Those few bites got me hooked so it was a must to get another order started. While my order of pountine was being worked on, I tried the pretzel with cheese and the hummus plate. The pretzel was perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was the perfect addition to the soft pretzel. I took a good amount of the hummus and Greek salad. The pita that came with it was a great vessel for the hummus. It was crispy with a slight chew to it. The hummus was clean tasting and rich. The Greek salad was so fresh. All the components of the salad tasted like they were just picked from the garden. You literally can't get anymore farm to table than that! It was so fresh! The second order of pountine came out. Everything about this appetizer was delicious! I love soggy, softer fries and these fries were the business! The gravy and cheese were the highlight of the dish for me. You can never go wrong with potatoes, cheese and gravy! There was a good amount of meat on the pountine. It was so tender! You can tell it was cooked with a lot of love and time! I took the rest home and I plan on hiding my box in the back of my fridge so my daughter can't get to it! We ended our happy hour with the beignets. Each one of these goodies were covered in powered sugar. The caramel sauce that was paired with it was devine! In all honesty, as full as I was, I could have polished off an order myself! They were the perfect dessert to end this fabulous meal. Bittercreek has been on my to go list for a hot minute. I'm so happy we got to come here and celebrate my birthday. The food was marvelous. Our server did a fantastic job taking care of us! Our waters were always filled. Our cocktails were never dry. And our plates were always filled cause food was always ordered on time for us. Homie was on point tonight! The venue can't be any more stunning. The weather was lovely. We were meant to be here today! In so happy we started my birthday week off at Bittercreek!

If the weather is cooperating, sit outside. The beer selection is impressive, with a great range of lagers and ales. We had our eye on one particular light, crisp option, but they were out for the night. Our server pointed us toward something comparable... I believe it was called Teddy Bearnd...it worked. Now, the food. My friend went for one of their signature burgers, which was seasoned simply so the beef really gets to shine. The only hiccup was that they were out of tomatoes, which is a non-negotiable topping for her, so keep that in mind if tomatoes are a must. I went a different route and ordered the beef focaccia. Uniquely layered ribeye and really good. We also shared a Greek salad that was simple but fresh and satisfying. And the french fries with their homemade ketchup? Don't skip em. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. No complaints.

He was very informative about where to go and places to check out in Boise. I ordered one of the local beers and their flagship meal, the Santa Maria Tri Tip Sandwich. As you can see by looking at the photos, the tri-tip was cooked to perfection. It had tomatoes, poblano, and chimichurri sauce on it to add to the flavors of the tri-tip. The bread consistency was great, not too soggy, and with a great crispy texture. I wish they had spread the tri-tip out more to make sure every bite was being celebrated. I also ordered the mac and cheese as the side per the instructions of the bartender, James. Let me say that was one of the best mac and cheeses that I have ever had. Truly amazing creamy texture and full of rich flavor. Everything melted in your mouth. Definitely worth it. I eventually ended up talking to a fellow bar sitter, and he ended up being the co-owner of the place, TJ. He also filled me in on the places to go and, most definitely, the places to travel to, to experience great beer. He was refreshing to talk to since most people don't have the passion for beer that we both represent. I would highly recommend this place for the staff that is there the solid pub style restaurant that they have created. Super easy and relaxed kinda of place.

I don't know that I have ever given a brewery a 5 Star review...this makes sense!…read more I have been doing my little Fish & Chips search through Boise and I will have to say, this place is Hands Down the best yet that I have found! Now I have been here a few times and I like the place. The service is good, especially in the bar. The place is very open and has great light and fresh air which I always love. Add to that some great food and creative cocktails and you have a winner! They have a great Old Fashion that is a creation of one of the bartenders and I think is just a fantastic drink! Balanced flavor, a little sweet but not too sweet...with a nice bourbon finish to it! Now back to the Fish & Chips...I have had them twice now, with the same cocktail to chase them down. These are what Fish & Chips are meant to be. The batter is light with a great crunch, not heavily breaded but a light flavorful batter! Fries are good, home-made tartar sauce which always hits...and all the items you want with them...lemon, vinegar and for me mustard! I will be back, over and over again. for a drink, some good service and the best Fish & Chips when I am having that craving! KT

I visited 10 Barrel Brewing recently with my fiancé, and while there were some high points…read moreregarding the flavors and service, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. To start, I tried the Pickletini. As a fan of pickle-forward drinks, I found it "not bad"--a solid choice if you enjoy that briny profile. My fiancé opted for the All Ways Down Double IPA flight. At 9% ABV, it was a heavy hitter, but he really enjoyed the intense hop aroma and flavor provided by the Cryo Hops. For my main, I ordered the TNT Sando (Tri-Tip with bacon jam and garlic aioli) on Gaston's grilled focaccia. I requested it without pickles, and it was excellent. I paired it with the Black Bean and Veggie soup, which was a standout--perfectly delicious with a nice "zing" to it. Unfortunately, the meal hit a significant snag with my fiancé's Fish & Chips. The beer and cornmeal tempura batter was extremely thick (nearly 3/4 of an inch in some spots) and the fish was overcooked. Additionally, the blue cheese dressing on his side salad was very runny and tasted off. It was disappointing enough that we had to send it back. We replaced it with The Spicy Italian pizza. This was a total 180--it arrived looking beautiful, and the combination of the meats, pepperoncinis, and hot honey was absolutely delicious. Our server, Casey P., was generally good and attentive, though we did have to wait to start our meal because we weren't initially provided with napkins or silverware. A minor note on the atmosphere: the table we were seated at had "gay" carved into the wood, which felt a bit out of place for the professional vibe of the rest of the establishment. Overall, the TNT Sando, the pizza, and the beers are worth coming back for, but the kitchen consistency on the fried items definitely needs some work.
