One of my favorite cozy not quite neighborhood but sorta kinda neighborhood vibes place. Dive bar kinda feel without being an actual dive bar, and definitely not pretentious. Prices for drinks are insanely affordable, think cactus and pengillys, with kind and attentive bartenders. Tonight there was no cocktail server and it was absolutely packed, but we still got our drinks within maybe 3 or 4 minutes. Vibes are relaxed but not boring! Music is great - think old school, and perfect background for conversations and hanging out. No games or pool tables or things like that, but I don't feel like we're missing out on anything. And tons of small and bigger tables for whatever party size you're with. read more

I actually really like this little place. It had an awesome old pub feel and the bartender was so nice! They had big walls of plastic up in front of the bar for COVID safety and everyone had to have masks unless they were sitting at a table. It is my birthday so I came in for a margarita and they charged me $4. That's crazy I really enjoyed the margarita and conversation from the bartender. It is downstairs in the basement, below Bombay Grill and Guru donuts. This is my 423rd Yelp review. Now, I've heard this is the place to go to get a great buzzworthy drink and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I got an Old Fashioned, which is usually 1/3-1/2 full and $8-12+, but not here! It's was cheaper than that and was full! Yes, that's right, an Old Fashioned filled to the brim! Who does that? 10th Street Station is whom! No wonder why I rolled down the hill/grass of the Century Link building, on the way to my car (I didn't drive-- you don't either :)~, with me telling George, "Live a little! Life is but a dream" (video proof)! The bartender was super friendly! The clientele had a good vibe. The bathroom is in a hallway and a very short walk, just be sure to grab a key off of the wall (see my photos). Cute little dive spot with cheap drinks and a great atmosphere! Staff is pretty cut and dry, but they do a good job and get your drinks quick! My friends and I always night cap here. It's especially cozy when the weather is cooler. They also seem to be pretty inclusive / queer friendly. read more

If you can get over the hump of going down into the dungeon you'll realize it's a cool spot. Not too rowdy, drinks are fare, people are cool, lots of decor, really not much to complain about. read more

This is a nice hidden little bar around the corner from the parking lot there by bombay grill. There are stairs going down so take caution if you are trying to get shit faced in heels, you may be visiting them emergency room later. This is a place I would start my night at or end my night at. It's a great atmosphere to start off a good night before going dancing or a great place to settle down after hitting the more overcrowding bars downtown. You can get a drink and talk without having to compete with any loud music. There is a ton of different beers to try and all the beers on tap looked delicious. I was at my limit upon arriving here but I do remember trying the berry cider beer on draft and it was really good. I'm not a beer pro like most hipsters are these days but I did see a large variety of beers on tap. Space is small but there's a mix of tables high and low or you can sit at the bar and there's a popcorn machine if you really need to sober up. The bartender is awesome! This place...the 10th Street Station...it is dive-bar personification at it's best. I know. From the second I walked in, my eyes tried to lubricate themselves with tears when the ciggie smoke-filled room tried robbing them of their moisture. I remembered that the bar top was sticky from stale beer that was probably wiped down from a dirty wet rag & sat there to dry under sleeved elbows. This place, the 10th Street Station...this place is pretty fly. They carried some local IPA's on tap. My Jack 'n Coke(s) was/were solid. More like Jack & a splash. 1/26/16 So I pop into this dive (I search em out from time to time), bartender ask 'what'll you have" I ask for an IPA. "There are none", he states, no biggie, I'll try another, so he says, "What do you like"? Fair enough.........I tell him I like IPA's (he had to ask). So he rolls his eyes and in a rude tone says " we don't have an IPA". I leave. This was a 20 second exchange. Don't be a Dxxk- suggest another ale-ish brew for a patron. Nice little find. It is in my opinion a very normal bar. I had a Manhattan. It was pretty good, nothing to complain about but that was about it. My wife had a Martini also pretty good. I guess if your just going in for a normal drink nothing fancy, pretty good place to go to. I don't think you will get anything out of this world just standard. I went on a Sunday afternoon, very quiet when we walked in we were the only ones there. Later it picked up. I probably wont go back. I come here for three things: the stiff mixed drinks (it's $4 for a well mixed drink but I've never wanted more than three in a sitting), the fact that it's one of the only bars in Boise where you can go to talk without yelling, and the popcorn. How can popcorn from a bag even taste that good? Sort of a dive bar with stiff drinks for cheaps. Freshly made popcorn for free to snack upon while you chitchat away. Decent bathrooms outside. Now you need a key to use those. Keys are next to the door before you leave the bar. Fast and kind service. Lovely place to meet your girlfriends and chat the night away. Not great on looks, unless 80's posters is your thing. Been ages since it's been updated or remodeled but... for me, it's just a great place to hang out with my ladies before dancing. Not so loud that you can't hear yourself. I recently visited my friends in Idaho and this was one of many stops while i was there. The place: This bar is an underground bar nestled in a quite area. The bar is a smaller bar but isn't crowded like most small bars. The tables are small and spaced to give a nice relaxed feeling and there is def. a sports theme as the walls have sports items on them, as well as license plates. There were no loud drunks or anything while we were there and the environment felt like we were there to talk and unwind instead of party and get restless. The drinks: As with any bar, this is what makes or breaks it. The inside can be awesome but if the drinks suck, so does the bar. Now this happened to be the very first bar I'd ever been to (I don't drink much) and i was a little scared. I wanted to start off with tasty drinks. Ones that don't slap you in the face with alcohol. ones that taste good but still have alcohol in them (yes that may be called "girly drinks"). I ended up getting a drink with amaretto and cherry to start. The verdict? Whoever the bar tender was, he knows how to mix drinks, cause i loved it. In fact I slurped it right down. I'm now a fan of this amaretto. I ended up getting 3 or 4 drinks all together and they all tasted wonderful. Not one was bad. To make things better, my friend ordered the same drink he made at home just the night before. It was amaretto with cream and something else (I think he called it toasted marshmallow or toasted almond something), and I tried it but it had tasted too strong for me. Not horrible, but my body wouldn't let me drink it all. Yet when my friend got one at this bar and I tried it, it was perfect. I could have stolen his and drank it all. To seal my visit, my fiends and I visited other bars and we tried some of the same drinks at the other bars that we had had at this one. Most of them weren't even close to being good as this bar. Some were wayyyy too strong and some took sour to the extreme, making their drinks undrinkable. Most other bars seemed to not be able to mix drinks like 10th Street Station. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating was the smoke. I don't smoke, so being forced to be in a smoky room isn't ideal, but that's bars for ya I guess. Bottom line- This was my first ever bar and I would def. come back. In fact it's the best bar we went to in Boise (taste wise). read more

On Friday, September 13th, I visited 10th street station around 1:30pm. I waited 15 minutes for the two bartenders to notice that I wanted a drink. They primarily spent their time talking to other people at the bar rather than attending to me. Now, I am a regular at 10th street station and so I was taken aback from the lack of responsiveness and care. I am not entirely sure about this, but I believe they were drunk. Not only is that irresponsible, but it is also rather inconsiderate to other customers. Imagine if they got swarmed by a bunch of patrons. I can only imagine the chaos that would ensue. Regardless of their behavior, the rest of the staff was accommodating and non-intoxicated. Thank you for your time. read more

I loved this dive bar. We only had one beer but the bartender was nice and funny. The bar was decorated well and the chairs were comfy.

This is a great little old man bar, for when you just want to grab a drink with some friends. I love it because the music it's loud, you can smoke inside (great in the winter time) and the drinks aren't cheap so the place is not packed with hipsters. read more

After I left Boise, I forever heard people talking about having drinks / meeting up at '10th street'. I figured it must be a cool place or something, what with everyone always going on about it. So I met another Boise ex-pat friend of mine and her boyfriend a couple years ago when we were in town for the holidays. Looking around the place revealed that it is nothing more than a sports bar, with football helmets and other garish sports memoribilia providing many eyesores to hold your attention or drive you to distraction. If you are not a fan of second hand smoke, I wouldn't even bother cause it is difficult to breathe with the smoke ratio being higher than the oxygen one. Best bar in town for meeting friends, hands down. If you want to really spend time with buddies for a good conversation that you can actually hear, this is the place. Intimate, casual, comfortable. The staff is amazing and they have a great selection of beers and whiskey. The music is picked by the staff and is always good. To whom it may concern, I was at Tenth Street station on Tuesday night to watch the debate and the bartender humiliated me in front of the entire bar. Let me explain; I am transgendered, I have been on hormones for over three years and live as a woman but have yet, for personal and legal reasons, to change my name. I am in the process of doing so right now but I have complications. I do however go by Raven Scott, even though the name on my credit card and driver's license says S**** ****. When I came in the bartender looked at my id and took my credit card. Throughout the night he refilled my beverage several times and added them onto my tab, clearly he knew who he was serving. At the end of the night, in a loud display he held my credit card just out of reach and said something to the effect of, "So your name is S**** *****, right, it's S****." Essentially he was calling me out. He was loud, made a big display and taunted me until finally I held my id and he gave me back my card. THIS IS ABOUT THE MOST HUMILIATING THING ANYONE CAN DO TO SOMEONE WHO IS TRANSGENDERED! I would also like to add that he was clearly drunk. I went home and cried myself to sleep that night, woke up in the middle of the night, cried myself to sleep again, and when I got to work, I'm a respected professional by the way, cried as I recounted what happened to my co workers who could clearly see that I was distressed. With the passing of the recent smoking ban in the city of Boise and the new ownership of long time bartender, Dan, Tenth Street Station has taken on a new life. Revitalized to adapt to both its former loyal smoking customers and the new non-smoking palate they have upgraded many of the liquor and beer choices--focusing on more availability of local microbreweries and craft beers (and the replacement of pint glasses over the former 10oz glasses) for their 9 tap handles, more bottled and canned beer selections and an expansion in higher end bourbons and scotches has created quite the new buzz for this long running institution know has the home of the heavy pour. Even with these new adjustments they have maintained its quiet and comfortable atmosphere with its quirky mix of kitschy and sports memorabilia décor. It still caters to the drinking crowd and not the partying crowd, so it is a place to relax and converse with your friends over a few cocktails. read more
