This was not a simple disagreement about steak temperature. It was a management failure. My husband and two sons ordered medium rare steaks. I ordered a medium NY strip. When my steak arrived, Manager Hannah instructed me to cut into it at the table "to ensure it was cooked properly." I complied. The center was bright red with a purplish tone and undercooked for medium. Instead of resolving the issue, she immediately argued that it was correct. They took the steak back and returned the same piece of meat that had already been cut open at the table, now overcooked. Once a steak is cut, the juices are released. Reheating that same halved steak guarantees a dry, compromised result. Because it was still incorrect, I had to cut the already halved steak again to check it. At that point it was in quarters, dry and stripped of flavor. No steakhouse should expect a guest to eat that. I requested a brand new steak and pointed to the internal color I wanted to avoid further confusion. Hannah told me that color was medium well. I told her the label was irrelevant. I wanted pink, not raw and not overcooked. The third steak arrived completely overcooked again, tough, dry, and with no pink. When I stated it was still incorrect, she argued that I had ordered medium well and that this was my mistake. That is not accurate. I ordered medium. Her conduct escalated the situation. She was defensive from the beginning, argumentative instead of solution focused, rolled her eyes, mumbled under her breath while walking away, and stated, "If I cook another one, you're just going to complain again." I had been fasting all day and had not eaten. I waited through three failed attempts while my family ate. There was no apology and no effort to de escalate the situation. At the end, removing the steak from the bill was presented as though it were a favor. It was not. When a guest receives nothing edible after three attempts, not charging for it is the minimum expectation. Cooking errors can happen. A manager arguing with a guest and displaying visible disrespect should not. read more

This is a great longhorn location! We both got Lemon Garlic Chicken which was delicious but slightly too rich of a marinade. The free bread that came was huge and warm and oh so delicious! Our white peach and berry sangrias were also huge and worth the price for their robust flavor. The baked potato and salad were also delicious. Next time, I plan to get the steak... All the food came out quite slowly and the staff took a bit to come check in on our table for our initial order. When the food did come out it was actually pretty good. It really puts a damper on the whole experience, especially when others have their food, do we wait for their food or eat ours.. 2 managers apologized but our order was not compensated at all. We came here for a weekday dinner. Service was okay; we had a large party which can be difficult to manage, so I won't fault them for that, but we could have been checked on more often and more thoroughly. We started the meal with complimentary bread service. The bread was soft and still warm from the oven, and it came with a nice whipped butter. We started with appetizers - white cheddar stuffed mushrooms and the Parmesan-crusted spinach dip (comes with flatbread chips - these were a little thick and chewy, not very crispy). The mushrooms were certainly cheesy, but sparse on the crusty top. It was served in a long tray with approximately six pieces - it's great for sharing. My main issue at Longhorn Steakhouse was the cookery (or lack thereof) of the steak. I ordered Flo's Filet (6 oz.) which comes with a salad and another side (you can also swap out the salad for an additional side). Signature sides are available for an upcharge. While the filet mignon was beautifully tender, the requested temperature was medium rare; it came out rare. It was still edible, but definitely not medium rare. Another person at our table ordered the same - medium rare filet mignon - but it was blue rare - we had to send it back to throw back on the grill. After the requested refire, it came back to the appropriate temp. I suppose it's better to undercook than overcook (it's a more cost effective fix), but I would hope for more mastery in cooking steak at a titular steakhouse. I also found most of the dishes to be a tad salty, especially the steak, but the sides were tasty. We also had a mix-up with the salads. While salads were brought out quickly, the salads got shuffled around at the table when they were delivered by the waitstaff. When one of the salads seemed to be missing, the waitress acknowledged the mix-up but a replacement salad was never brought out. We later remedied this by requesting a replacement side, but making a new salad should've been a quick fix. We were celebrating a birthday and the waitress kindly brought out a sundae with a birthday candle. It's always nice when the restaurant acknowledges one's special day. At the end of the day, it's a Longhorn. It's a steakhouse, it's a chain, it has the kitschy decor, and the main reason you come here is for steak. Always wanted to try Longhorn Steakhouse and decided to drop by after an event at the Dulles Expo Center. For a Friday dinner, the place was busy and recommend to make a reservation. We ordered the Longhorn and it was flavorful and seasoned just right. Beyond the steaks, the sides were delicious and the fresh bread was a great addition. The service was prompt and friendly. We went to Longhorn because we got a gift card and no way I was going to Olive Garden! Call ahead seating worked well, but not necessary because we were seated promptly on a Saturday night. Place was busy but the staff were working well, including hostess, waiters, and bussers. Wife got the ribeye and I went for the half LB. burger. Both dishes were solid choices. I had lunch here on Thursday with friends and both the food and service were excellent. I had the cheeseburger medium rare with the house salad. The burger was cooked perfectly and the salad was really good with cheese, cucumber and tomatoes. The ranch dressing was good enough to take home with the leftover salad :) Our waitress was SENYA and she was lovely and very accommodating. We had the strawberry shortcake and it was REALLY good, light and not too sweet. Can't wait to go back and try other things and get the shortcake again. My wife and I just returned from this LongHorn Steakhouse location--not our first visit--and once again, it didn't disappoint. In my opinion, LongHorn offers the best balance of price and quality of any chain steakhouse out there. Our waitress, Barbara H., was excellent--friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to enjoy her job, which is refreshing in today's restaurant industry. In fact, the entire staff appeared engaged and happy to be there. There was a small hiccup with my wife's sweet potato; it arrived topped with cinnamon sugar, even though she had requested only butter. Barbara immediately took it back to the kitchen, and the kitchen manager personally came out to apologize and ensure everything was corrected. He even checked on the doneness of my wife's steak, which turned out to be slightly undercooked. Within four minutes, he returned with it perfectly prepared . The steaks here are consistently well-seasoned and cooked to perfection, and any issues are handled promptly and courteously. We've never had a bad experience at this location, and we look forward to returning whenever our travels take us near Chantilly. read more

Tables are filthy- We went there for dinner tonight. The hostess seated us at a dirty table. When I pointed it out, she brushed the table with a napkin. I informed her that there was more crumbs on the rest of the table. She said she would have someone clean the table. Five minutes later nothing happened. I went over to have someone clean the table. She made sure that our salads didn't come out on top of our appetizers, that our entrees didn't come out on top of our salads, and that everything was as we had expected. My delicious Longhorn 22-oz steak came out perfect. It was an ideal medium-rare temperature cooked exactly as I had ordered it with great flavor and a very enjoyable meal. We came to this restaurant somewhat late on a Saturday evening, and it was not as crowded. The noise level allowed my friend and me to talk easily, and it was much nicer. I have been eating at Longhorn about once a month for years. When my family was looking for a lunch place near the airport, I suggested Longhorn. The service was terrible. The waitress was surly. She took orders from us all (4) and the manager delivered three, seemingly oblivious to the missing steak salad (mine). After much ado with no one explaining what happened, my salad arrived with about half the amount of steak I had received in this salad in the past. My husbands salmon in his salad was also undersized with bones. The manager, who we had to summon twice, said he would take my dish off and offered a free dessert, once. Oh this is about as good as it gets. I love this location. The main reason, is how the steak is cooked to order every time! That alone is huge, and I think for the price, the quality is exceptional. Yesterday I went here again. I could be incorrect, but was surprised there was only one side with the 8 oz sirloin. It was two every other time. Yet that sweet potato with butter and cinnamon was wicked! They also have delicious bread to start out with. Yesterday I wasn't able to enjoy the full margarita, but that's a big recommendation, and also must say please be responsible. There wasn't a wait at all, so we were able to get seated immediately. The Food: I went with a classic medium rare Ribeye with a side of sweet potato. The steak was cooked to my liking and the quality of meat itself was very nice. It was cooked just right to my liking and the flavor was nice as well. The sweet potato was delicious, as they sprinkled some butter and cinnamon on it. The Service: The service was great! The staff were friendly and attentive. No water was left unfilled.
