Field Greens, Butter Leaf Lettuce, Heirloom Tomatoes with Parmesan Vinaigrette

We come here for almost every occasion to celebrate and the food and service is always consistently superb.

    Tuna Tartare

We opted for Capital Grille in Fairfax as I have never been there and wanted to try the place. We have no regrets! They started restaurant week yesterday, and consequently, the place was fairly busy when we arrived at 7:30. The "restaurant week" menu we thought was a very good deal for $65. It offered you a choice of two different salads, a cup of soup for a starter, several entrées, including an 8 ounce filet mignon, salmon, and a chicken dish. It came with two sides, a delicious creamed, spinach, and some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Desserts were either a small cheesecake, or a decadent chocolate cake. They offered a $12 upgrade to a 10 ounce filet mignon sliced with wild mushrooms and a fig essence. I opted for this while my family went with a standard 8 ounce filet mignon. Although it was delicious, I was envious of the simple filet as mine was a little too sweet for my taste. The bread and rolls were delicious too. A small splurge was an order of Tuna Tartare--$24. It was wonderful. The attention to detail, the friendly staff, beautiful ambience with soft music, and once the crowd thinned out, it was a wonderful environment. The wines were fairly priced and until August 30, Duckhorn vineyards is celebrating their 50 year anniversary and offered a flight of six different wines for a $38 add-on to your meal. We opted for one of those flight flights and the pores were very generous and we all got to sample some delicious Duckhorn wine. We got a special treat by being invited to take a look at the meat locker, and that was very impressive!! The head chef explained the various cuts in the dry aging room. They have some beautiful beef in that room!!! So in closing, I certainly look forward to trying some of the other suggestions, but will highly recommend capital Grille to anyone looking for a superb experience!

Went in for lunch on a whim. It was busy but not surprising for a Friday. The server Sean was probably the most attentive server I'd ever had. I got a bowl of French onions soup which was delicious. Second only to Morton's in my opinion. They had a special of 8 ounce sliced filet with mushrooms onions and fig essence for 44 which I chose for my entree. The filet itself was fantastic and the mushrooms and onions were a good compliment to the beef. It also came with a side of which I chose the mashed potato's. The potatoes were good but a little too runny. Still a very minor issue. Consistently the best fine dining restaurant I know and I've never been disappointed in a meal as a whole. The service alone is worth the price. Will definitely be back.

A good spot to celebrate special occasions :) our waiter was super attentive and accomodating. When my parents said they were celebrating an anniversary, they surprised them with complimentary desserts, champagne, and roses! Steaks were on point, and paired well with the roasted wild mushrooms! Parmesan truffle fries were a bit mid, not very crispy. Tbh the sides are supposed to be shareable but portions are honestly small. I did really like the Seared Scallops, seasoned very well, and balanced flavors!

Food was delicious, one of the best stakes I've ever had. The truffle fries were delicious. The calamari was a tasty appetizer, along with having a delicious desert.

I have been living in this neighborhood for almost 4 years and recently was my first time visiting. It will not be my last. My neighbor and I decided to stop in for lunch after doing some shopping. From the moment we walked in, you could tell this was going to be a very memorable experience. The ambiance is casual yet luxurious and the service was A-1. Our servers Laura and Jackie were attentive and kind. The food was delicious and had depth. The Parmesan truffle fries and French onion soup were my favorite. The cheesecake was to LIVE for. I had a wonderful experience and I am very grateful for the experience.

I never take pictures of my food. So... why, you may wonder, did I take pictures of my food? It's because I KNOW there will come a day that I'm so hungry, and I'll pull up this bone-in ribeye cooked to a succulent medium rare just to see if I can feel something again. This is the second year I've reserved one of the private rooms at Cap Grille for a family event - last year we had 11, this year we had 9. Both times the service was as amazing as this steak. If you're looking for a really easy-breezy private dining experience with easy access (I mean, it's Fairfax, talk about close by), and tech that makes the reservation process just a few clicks = you're gonna love this place. Already drooling over my next stop here.

Always here for special occasions! Wife's bday!!! We got the Tuna Tartare to start! Wonderful!!! Wife got the filet with fig essence. You have to try this!! I got the NY strip. Smashed taters for both. Everything was tremendous!!! Our terrific waitperson, Thiago, was on it big time. No waiting!! Drinks, appys... all served elegantly. And what a terrific vibe. Loads of dark wood but ceiling light was just bright enough to make it cozy. The flat bread/crisp to start was very tasty. A must go for occasions. My wife was treated to a HAPPY BIRTHDAY plate with a small cheesecake and small espresso cake. Both were a joy to eat. Sarah the manager has got this place down to perfection. Highly recommend!!!

Got the Ribeye sandwich. It was solid. Prob overpriced but what isn't these days thanks to our Supreme Leader. Only thing it could use is maybe a French dip type Au Jus sauce. The best thing by far was the service we got from Brittany at the bar. She instantly greeted us as we sat down and was super nice, friendly and helpful throughout the ordering process. Prob the best service I've had this year. This place needs to give that girl a raise. I will be back specifically for her service.

Might be the most delicious steak I've ever had in my entire life. The mashed potatoes were to die for as well. Their cheesecake was the perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. Their staff were the utmost professional servers and waiters I've had the pleasure of dining with in quite some time.

Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers

This is one of those places where the service shines. Our server, Sean/Shawn, was the best! He was friendly, attentive, and conversational. It's a pretty big space that it good for larger groups and it seemed like most people were there celebrating something. Honestly, the food is good but nothing spectacular in my opinion. The calamari was nice and crispy, and the peppers were a good touch because they added the heat and acidicity to break up the fried flavor. The parmesan truffle fries were a crowd pleaser. The truffle flavor wasn't overpowering and they came out hot. For my entree, I ordered the roasted chicken breast with a mushroom parmesan risotto. This was delicious and came with two pieces of chicken, which was a pleasant surprise. The risotto was a good complement, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the serving was large enough for another meal. While the food was good, I just don't know if it all justifies the price but I didn't order the steak so maybe that would change my mind.

I think the chef got a little overzealous when seasoning that batch. Haha. The asparagus came out and it looked really good. The taste was a match! It was our first time and we weren't sure how things worked so let me help you out if you are reading this. A small plate is indeed a small plate of whatever you order. You can share to you cannot. But if you go the small plate route , you'll want to order between 3 and 4 items per person. The large plates are meals. The atmosphere was as expected. This would make a good date night. You could dress up or you could dress down. Either way, you'll be right at home. Our waitress Gabby did a great job and she was super helpful. My wife is allergic to rice so Gabby made sure to check with the chef about cross contamination and what was good for her on the menu and what not. Super appreciative of that. My wife tried two different sans spirits drinks. The espresso tonic. I tried it also. Big no! It has tonic espresso and grapefruit juice. Those did not vibe. We sent it back. She then tried the Purple Rain and loved it. All in all, it's a good spot and I'm glad we tried it. I think next time we will go exclusively with the large plates. The small plate route was kind of expensive for what we got and we didn't get a lot of food. We both actually left hungry. We are not drinkers but we accompanied two of our friends who are and they enjoyed the wine selection.

A wonderful place for a special event with excellent food and service…read more We recently held our daughter's baby shower at Taste of Old Country in Manassas and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. The restaurant is very nice inside and also sells a variety of olive oils and other specialty items. We actually used some of their olive oil packages as prizes for the games during the shower, which worked out perfectly. Elias and Zachery were wonderful from before the event began while we were setting up, throughout the entire shower, and even afterward while we were cleaning up. They obviously knew how to handle an event like this and seemed to know exactly what needed to happen as our guests began arriving and the shower progressed. We had two long tables set up for our group, one seating 14 and the other 12 people. I thought the tables and place settings looked wonderful, and they allowed us to add our own table runners, pumpkin-themed centerpieces, and decorations along both sides of the room. When it was time to eat, the food was set out buffet-style along the bar near the back. The menu was Mediterranean based and included spanakopita, cheese pies (not pizzas), artisan sandwiches, meatballs, stuffed grape leaves, and other items. Everything was absolutely delicious, and there was certainly no shortage of food. We had enough for everyone at the shower, enough left for dinner for eight of us afterward, and still had leftovers for two families to take home. The staff did a great job throughout the event without making us feel rushed, and the entire experience was comfortable and relaxing. Considering the beautiful venue, excellent service, quality and amount of food, and how smoothly everything went, I thought the price was an excellent value. Overall, Taste of Old Country helped make our daughter's baby shower a wonderful event and one we will remember for a long time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a place in the Manassas area for a shower, family gathering, or other special event. Definitely a five-star experience. Enjoy!
