They forgot my Sharkey Temple, had to ask a few times to finally get it, and they forgot my sweet potato that was supposed to go with my steak combo :) Steaks were pretty good, but a bit tough to cut through. I really liked their coconut shrimp tho, surprisingly, but not the sauce that came with it. Blooming onion was pretty good too, just kind of greasy and smaller than expected (although that thing got demolished quickly in our group LOL). Good value. Victoria filet won't blow your mind, but for the price it's a great option for a night out for steak that won't completely break the bank. The seasoning on the sear really is good, and cut was tender. My son gambled and went for the sirloin and realized he really is a filet man through and through. After a long day, I stopped by Outback Steakhouse for their Happy Hour -- and it did not disappoint! The specials are very reasonably priced, especially for this area. Today, I tried the Boomarita -- a fun and flavorful flight of four margaritas: classic house, blackberry, mango, and watermelon. Each one had a unique twist, and it was the perfect way to wind down. The bar area was busy and full of energy, but the service remained attentive and friendly. A great spot to grab a drink, relax, and enjoy a casual evening. I have been to this location a few times and always had a great experience. Our favorite waiter is Chase, he is so friendly and welcoming. We usually start off our order with the new Fried Mozzarella Boomerang. They are so delicious! The seasoning on the coating is so good. They fry it perfectly where the coating is crispy and the cheese is perfectly melty on the inside. Got the Filet Topped with Garlic Butter and it it also delicious. Ordered the steak medium well and it came out as requested. The steak was tender and the garlic butter topping is flavorful and makes the steak so tasty. For my sides I usually order the seasoned rice and a caesar salad. No complaints with the salad. It is tossed well and comes with a generous amount of parmesan cheese which I appreciate. Seasoned rice is good as well, they are generous with their serving amount and I was unable to finish it all. We love coming here for dinner! read more

I've only tried outback one other time and this time wasn't much different than the last, i was craving steak so we hit up outback after a long day, we were seated right away.I decided to get a Gingerbread Fizz, it was not good personally i think a Regular Coke would have been better. The Aussie fries were very salty but i did appreciate how the server brought us lots of Ranch! The steak was good, The Burger was not-it was also very salty. Although the Mac n Cheese made up for it. Pre-cooked? My medium-rare ribeye steak was dry, tough to cut with little flavor while boasting a medium red center! Pre-cooked, set aside then flash 'finished' is the only explanation. Ugg - it was inedible - I ate less than 25% before tossing. I used to be a fan of Herndon Outback as recently as 2024 but the quality of the food and service has continued to slide over the year. 3/15/2025 We went to enjoy the $14.99 Aussie 3 course meal. It was delicious. Sam and other staff were on point with the timing of their service. The restaurant was still empty because it was early so the atmosphere was very relaxing. I have attached pictures of the food, very beautifully presented except hubby's food. I LOVE their potato soup it was so warming on this chilly day(I forgot to take picture of this masterpiece). Shrimp was delicious with right amount of spices. The dipping sauce was a little too spicy for me. The meal was reasonably priced and we asked if we could use our AARP discount and they allowed it. Yay. After a previous experience at another Outback we had vowed not to eat at Outback again but this has renewed my trust at Outback. I went with my family to celebrate my birthday, my wife made the reservation, upon arrival we were received very well, once at the table the service was very bad, they made us feel unwelcome they forgot the drinks, we made complaints and they brought us everything together food salads drinks and margaritas at the same time, the idea was to have a birthday celebration and I didn't have it, it was just about having dinner and leaving because it didn't turn out as we expected, my wife felt guilty and bad because she chose the place, since the reservation was made in advance to have a special dinner, I think they didn't have much patience with us and my daughter. The new Outback in a new building across from the old one is nice and airy. Great decor and very welcoming. Outback is a hit and miss place. Usually food is mediocre at best but here it is good. Service is great and they don't bother you. I sat with my friends yesterday for 3 hours catching up and never had a problem. Ok it wast busy but Nick our server was great. The blooming onion is great but quite expensive for a breaded onion. Loaded baked potato was really good with real bacon and not just freeze dried bacon bits. Very tasty. 3 and 1/2 stars. We came to this location for Mother's Day. It had been a while since I had been to one but Outback has always been my favorite. I will say food was consistent and pretty good. I do feel like some of the portions were really small such as my daughter's baked potato soup. My biggest disappointment was that the waiter and the food runner could have been more friendly. We felt our waiter was really abrasive, pushy, didn't check on us and just overall lacked friendliness. I also feel like this location that the tables was odd and they very close together. I felt like I was walking through a maze to get to the restroom. Not sure if I would return to this location or not. With busy schedules and inflation we don't go out as much anymore as a family and we do we want a great experience. read more

In the mood for a hunk of meat, we headed over to the Outback. There, we found the food and the good service that fit the bill. We started, of course, with the bloomin' onion which was golden crispy and not at all greasy. We learned to make sure to order any appetizers before the rest of your meal if you want the computer tablets the servers use to put that request in first or else everything just comes out at once. For entrees, we had the prime rib and the bone in strip steak. It's great that they have the little color chart on the menu so you can determine just how you want your steak cooked. Both cuts were good, if not a little salty. But, they do say they serve their meat well seasoned. For sides, some of us had Caesar salads which were good along with Aussie fries or a loaded (butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon {I think I got it all}) plus a mac n cheese. Not a light meal, but a hearty one that left us, unbelievably, too full for dessert (and I was really looking forward to tackling that chocolate tower cake!) Bonus, the dog got a couple of bones that she could chew on (and bury in the yard) once we got home. The service was very friendly and attentive and there is plenty of parking in the lot. read more

We appreciated the assistance (bilingual Claudia) and the food was fast and delicious: The House Salad with Honey Mustard vinaigrette was fresh and enough portion, the bread was a little dry but with good flavor and texture, with a nice butter (could benefit of a cute tip in a piping bag to to fill up the little cup, next time). The super famous Bloomin' Onion was a little oily at the base (thank you, paper napkins) but tasty and enough for four people. Asparagus were cooked almost perfect with a beautiful color, as well as the broccoli on the side. The French Onion Soup was a good portion, nicely covered with a beautiful golden cheese au grating and the classic bread underneath. It was a little salty for me but the temperature was perfect for this cold day... and my favorite part is to scrape the melted cheese around the bowl () at the end. - We loved the Grilled Shrimps on the Barbie, awesome delicious season with the Remoulade Sauce as well as the Gold Coast Coconut Shrimps with the Creole Marmalade , perfectly done, never overcooked and amazingly crispy. The Cheesecakes were good, probably too sweet for me (but everything is tooooo sweet for me) and I liked the cheesecake that was offered with the Raspberry Melba sauce (aside, not on top, for me to control part of the sugar intake) .... WOW....I forgot about this place a bit until I went here for a late-ish dinner the other night due to a hankerin' for PRIME RIB. YUM. Being soooo conscious of how downright ridiculously expensive it is to eat out anymore, I've really been trying to find those value-play restaurants that not only serve good food but also have decent portion sizes in a nice setting and with good service. A quadruple play restaurant is so rare in the NoVA area. It truly is not worth eating out anymore. But Outback DOES actually fit the bill all the way around. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Outback has been a landmark in Herndon for probably close to 25 years - maybe more. It moved to its current standalone location on Elden and is impressively large, clean and inviting inside. Loads of seating and these days, no wait for a table but they do have CALL AHEAD SEATING which I always recommend no matter what. They are also one of a handful of places that stays open late which I love. The bar area is huge and the bar itself is a great place to sidle up for drinks and a meal. The drink menu offers value priced beers and $7 (!!) cocktails including a spicy margarita that is worth trying. Complimentary bread loaf (they will gladly bring you refills!) - ask for the honey butter to accompany it. But don't fill up and do save room for the real star of the meal: the steaks. I don't get anything other than their juicy prime rib. The 12 oz smallest size is plenty big for me. Get it "Outback Style" with it seasoned and lightly finished on the grill. It's mouth watering good served with both au jus and creamy a horseradish sauce on the side. Their baked potatoes are baked to perfection and loaded with toppings. The potato skin is sea-salt seasoned - a potato skin treat! I LOVE THEIR CEASAR SALAD as one of my sides. It's HUGE, crispy crunchy romaine with creamy garlicky caesar dressing topped with buttery croutons. One of my dining pals ordered the 16 oz NY Strip topped with a dollop of garlic butter (extra $$ but worth it). My other companion was in a seafood mood and had the Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie entree with rice and steamed broccoli. Both reported their meals as THUMBS UP DELICIOUS. Service was impeccable. All the servers are experienced, know their stuff and aim to please. Smiles all around and willing to accommodate and go the extra mile ALWAYS. "No" or "Can't" is not in their vocabulary. Neither are eye rolls like you get at those trendier (read: pricier) places with service by less experienced servers who act like YOU'VE inconvenienced THEM by your asks. We took leftovers home that were devoured as light meals or a snack the next day. No complaints about portion sizes here - especially for the price. VALUE VALUE VALUE. Right here. Outback isn't a "let's celebrate a special occasion" type of steakhouse. Come here for downright good, quality food made with fresh ingredients cooked to order. Though it's a classic steakhouse, menu is extensive with other entrees besides steaks including entree salads, chicken, fish/seafood and burgers. Lots to choose from for everyone. All to say, not a place to be looked over just because you're not in the mood for a steak dinner. Everything is good here. (But did I mention the juicy prime rib served daily?!!!) My husband and I had dinner at this location last night. They were quick to come to our table and serve us. Our waitress was fun and friendly! She was attentive to our needs. The side salads we ordered were fresh and plentiful! Most locations have gotten quite skimpy with their salads, but this one gave us a full dish! The waitress did make a mistake when entering our order causing it to be delivered with mushrooms when we ordered it without. They quickly took it back, apologized, she owned her mistake and they made it right. We waited a bit, they obviously made a fresh one rather than picking the mushrooms off and bringing it right back out. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious! This is my second time coming here, and we will definitely be back! I will never down a place for making a mistake if they make it right, especially when they do so with a smile. We have visited many Outbacks, but this is one of my favorite locations! The only thing I can really say that is somewhat of a negative is that the hostess they have doesn't speak loudly enough. She is so quiet that we couldn't hear her at all. She isn't rude, but she does need to learn to speak up a bit. If she has an issue that prevents that, well, we all need to give her grace. But generally, you should have a bubbly person who greets you when you arrive. But she did watch to see us coming and had the door open for us. All in all, this is a great stop for dinner! Our anniversary was just over 2 weeks ago, and yes, when it comes to this review, I procrastinated. And there was no good reason for doing so:). In normal times, to celebrate our anniversary, we would go into DC (sometimes just a day trip, other times a staycation) for a good dinner. However, these aren't normal times. We had to find another way to celebrate. Outback came to mind because many of our anniversary meals have been steak dinners. We ordered 2 Victoria's fillets (6 oz.) medium rare. In these times of takeout, the selection of sides was limited. We got the vegetable of the day which was broccoli and a baked potato and asked for sour cream, butter, cheese and bacon for it. Also, we got their loaf of bread. Ordering online was easy. They do their own deliveries and gave us a time when the food would arrive. We went downstairs and waited. At one point, a young woman came into the building. If we didn't know better, we would have thought that she walked there as we didn't see her car. We have no idea as to where she parked. It was clearly her first time delivering here as she didn't know what to do. We asked if it was our food, and it was. The steaks were still warm and the potatoes were actually still very hot. The broccoli was warm and seasoned with salt and pepper. The only complaint we had was some steak juices leaked inside the bag but nothing was ruined by it. The steaks were properly prepared. The bread was warm if a bit squished. The toppings for the potato were all crammed into 2 tiny containers but we didn't mind. At least the butter was in a separate container. In the end, we didn't have high expectations when it came to delivering a steak dinner but everything was fine, all things considered. That said, it's not the same as dining in but in these times, one can't complain about that. read more

The chicken was overdone and couldn't have weighed more than 4oz. Three had water and one had a soft drink. $85.50 is absurd for the garbage and service we received.
