Not at all what I expected! I have been to Longhorns in other towns and every time it's been OK food or OK Service. But I have to say I am very impressed. We were set immediately. Our waitress was friendly, efficient, and on point our whole meal. She was very helpful. We both enjoyed our appetizers and our dinner. Even the Caesar salad was dressed well. The steak was seasoned and Cooked to temperature perfectly. They were so put together, even the manager stopped by our table as she should have and made sure that everything was going well for us. There aren't a ton of options to eat in Frankfort, and I was craving steak and salad. I decided to give Longhorn another try. The service was quicker tonight. It's also not busy at 5:30pm on a Monday night. I had then fire up a ribeye steak, side salad and some broccoli. And, yes, I had some of the hot delicious bread. Don't look at me that way. I know I shouldn't but it's one of the best things here to kick the meal off right. The side was good but it was more croutons than lettuce. I cracked up at the tiny bits of tomatoes. Would kill them to actually give you a slice of tomato? Things have gotten really cheap and skimpy today. I don't mean to complain but restaurants have lost sight of value. They think we as customers don't notice...but we do. My steak arrived, while it wast cooked medium, I was not in the mood to wait for another. It was good, just a little overcooked. Once again the waitress didn't immediately check on me to make sure everything was ok. But the time she did come back and ask, I was already opting to eat my meal while it is still hot. So the past 2 times I've been here I've had crap experience. About 2 months ago I was here and they was out of steaks. They didn't tell us that at the door, we waited 45 mins to be seated and then when we go to order they tell us. Great location just off the road and in the same parking lot of Holiday Inn. Service was amazing! They were great with the kiddos and made sure that their food came out first which all parents of young kids know their kids expect their food as soon as they sit down to eat. Unless I've missed it on my 6 trips to Franklin per year, it might just have the worst food scene of any capital city in the United States. It's baffling really, there are a handful of mediocre places near downtown, so when I travel for work I usually pop into the ol' Longhorn, plop my old ass down at the bar and settle in for a 9 ounce Flo's filet. This visit was no different and honestly, it's always pretty good. Usually cooked to a nice medium rare, a solid baked potato and a side salad. Couple that with a sweet ice tea and there you have it. The bartenders are always busy, yet friendly. In a town in which fine dining is limited and bad restaurants are at every turn, this is generally your best option. Hubby wanted to eat here to celebrate his birthday so we came after work. We were seated promptly and were waited on shortly afterwards. We both enjoyed Caesar salads as a starter. Hubby ordered a Flo's filet with macaroni and cheese while I had the grilled Redrock shrimp skewers with rice and steamed broccoli. The food was delicious and we both enjoyed ourselves. If you follow my reviews on Yelp, another week, another Longhorn review. As someone who spends most days on the road, I enjoy consistency (although I do try to venture out and try difference not places sometimes). I post longhorn reviews from their locations around the country because they are one of the most consistent restaurants I know- especially their steaks. But on this visit I opted for a burger (and their spicy chicken bites which I can't resist). The waitress was lovely, the service exceptional, and the food delicious. I still have a bone to pick to Longhorn and their tipping practice. They base the tip on the after tax total, which is not appropriate by any standard, but they do list this in the fine print on the receipt for the few people who notice this. It's still a terrible thing to do, and minus one star for that. Everything else was wonderful as always! read more

One word that will always describe Longhorn is "consistent"! I've never been there and the food not be absolutely delicious. I can't tell you about a variety of things on the menu because I'm totally stuck on the parmesan crusted chicken and Brussel sprouts! Both are a must- have when I visit. We had a gift card that we wanted to use for my birthday. At first, we went to the Longhorn at their Turfland location in Lexington, KY, but they had a 91 health score, so we chose to wait until that score improved. However, the wife found that the Longhorn in Frankfort, KY, had a health score of 100. So, on my birthday, we drove to the Longhorn in Frankfort for dinner. We had no issues. The wife's ribeye was cooked to her liking, and my medium-well Porterhouse was perfectly cooked; the waitress was excellent. Their host was extremely rude and told us there were no tables and she could only offer us high top. Clearly there were multiple open tables. When asked to give us a booth that was open she replied, it's not clean and other staff members are busy doing other things. Very rude young girl. This is my favorite Longhorn location in Kentucky! Streaks here are always outstanding, I prefer the New York strip! The pork chops are always really good! Staff is always friendly and will check on you reasonably throughout your dine in. Interior is always clean, well kept, and classy. We generally only eat out on special occasions, this was my birthday. We were seated at dirty table, was told it would be cleaned, it was not. Waited several minutes for waitress, ordered appetizer, cocktail and she asked if we wanted to go ahead and order meal.. we did. We waited for cocktail, salads and appetizer. We waited longer. Waitress shows up with ENTREES ONLY! No drink, salad or appetizer. Told her we didn't want the appetizer since we had our meals, she said it would be comped.. ok. Still waited for drink and salads.. finally got drink. NEVER got the salads... she finally offered to "box them up" for us, we declined. Restrained from suggesting what she could do with them. In the meantime the manager approached and apologized. My dinner and the appetizer were comped, but still spent $55 for a horrible birthday "celebration". I know this is a chain, but this location is a great Stop if you are in the area. Visiting the area on Thursday Night and most restaurants are closed, but lucky that we found LongHorn open after 9pm. Safe Parking lot with plenty of spots and right off the main road. Easy to find. Popped in after 9pm and Megan (Bartender) welcomed us at a high top in the bar. The restaurant was very clean, and super welcoming. Even the hostess greeted us and was super friendly. From the looks of the guests at the bar, many professionals, locals, and repeat visitors stopped in frequently. Bar has drafts, wine and good selection of bourbon (important in this area of the state). Our Wine and Bourbon drinks were good pours and great taste. We were focused and tired, so ordered two Filets with baked potatoes and salads. Both steaks were cooked as ordered (med-rare and med-well), were appropriately sized, and tasted great. They were also served timely. Salad were the good and service was amazing. Not sure if everyone receives great service here, but Megan in the bar area was amazing. We chatted briefly and she shared she has been there for like 19 years. So friendly, professional, and royally made our night after a long drive day. Took about 15 minutes to get seated at 5:45. I ordered my steak well done, and it came very pink throughout, so I sent it back. It took a long time for it to come back and when it did, they brought me a different steak that was even pinker than the one I sent back. By that time it was 6:55 and I told her never mind, that I didn't want to wait to have it cooked again. The manager wanted to know if I wanted to take it home and seemed irritated when I said no. My friend and I called here to ask if they had gluten free offerings because I have celiac disease. The guy answering the phone said they do and my friend asked what type of items were on the menu that were gluten free (needed to know before we took the time to actually go) and the guy told us he didn't have time to tell us anything. We asked to speak to someone who did have time and he told her that he would get a manager. After a couple minutes on hold, the original guy came back on the phone and told us the manager is just too busy and to call back in an hour. Like really? Regardless of if we are calling for gf items or not, that's a terrible way to handle a customer. I ordered The Longhorn, a $35 22 oz porterhouse. I was given I received a thin Save a Lot quality t-bone that was full of fat and might have been 16-18 oz. If you're going to $35 foot a steak you should know that customers are going to have some expectations. The steak I received would have been disappointing if you charged me $20 for it. Updating my prior review, finally made it in the door lol. I am going with 3 stars however service once passed the front door debacle is a 5 star review. (Corporate still needs to adjust properly to the current environment since no one knows how long it will last) DO RESERVATIONS!!! No sense in making folks clump together outside the door for an hour. Ok with that said the lobster clam chowder is perfection!!! The server Ashley is fantastic!!! polite fast and on point. Had the Maverick was soooo good seasoning was on point!!! I would order this again and again!!! Ashley suggested sautéed mushrooms and that was the icing on the cake!!! Will come back as long as I don't have to wait an hour outside in the heat lol. Thank you for the wonderful lunch. Tried to go here twice, but since they won't take reservations and would rather have you stand outside in the heat for 40-1hr. A good entry level steakhouse similar to a Logan's or Texas Roadhouse. Service was good had a local beer called a shotgun wedding which was like a porter. The steaks were tender and cooked properly to our order. We had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer which was good. A bit noisy and very busy. Obviously it is very popular here. read more

This restaurant is conveniently located just off I-64. Easy on and easy off the interstate. This is one of our "go to" restaurants just off the freeway. The ambiance is good. The restaurant and tables are always clean. The rest rooms are like a 3 on a scale of 5 (not filthy but trash cans overflowing). The wait staff is the best. Quick, kind, and courteous. They check on you and see to your needs, but they do not bug you to death. On my most recent visit, I ordered the ribeye with rice and a Ceasars salad. My wife ordered the filet with garden salad and bake potato. My ribeye was good and hit the spot. The rice was also tasty. The Ceasar salad was simply the best. The salad was large , it was so good I could have ordered a second one. My wife enjoyed her salad and baked potato. The filet was a little tough but tasty. The place is always packed, but the staff seem to make it all work out. When we were there we were traveling and in a hurry. The staff got us in and out in 45 minutes, which we so appreciated. They don't have all that bar-b-QUE sauce that is either, too spicy, too sweet, has too much vinegar in it, etc. The wings are dusted with selected spices; not too spicy and is really good. I do enjoy a good Ranch Dressing and Longhorn does have that. They also have a hearty dark wheat bread along with real butter. One of my favorite steakhouses ever. Always really good. We got the Outlaw Ribeye. It was flavorful, juicy, and tender. The fries were fantastic. I usually get ribs, but for some reason there was no full rack option on our menus, just half rack. Unusual. Also, online for this location, it said they had spinach dip for an appetizer, and it also said that on a picture on our table, but not on the menu, maybe it was dinner only? We've only eaten here a few times because they are expensive but the food is excellent. The steaks are juicy and cooked to perfection. Steaks come with a salad with your choice of four dressings and it's a large bowl. Salads are great. I got a loaded baked potato and it was bomb diggity. My son got asparagus that was good. They give you large portions so there is always some to take home. The steaks are even good the next day warmed up in a microwave. If you love steak and can afford it, I highly recommend this place. The staff are great. The atmosphere is great. Very clean too, wich is important to me. If my wife and I can get away from the kids we will eat here again soon. read more

This is becoming our favorite restaurant in Frankfort area. Food and service are constantly very good. The Kentucky Mule, when mixed with a premium bourbon as it should, has a hell of a kick. Worth every cent. The strawberry chicken walnut salad is my favorite and has never disappointed. My wife says it's the best steaks she's had. What a difference 24 hrs and a different city makes, last night ate at a place that should not have been reopened. Tonight we ate here at Longhorns. The food and service were excellent. Although initially there was an issue with the doneness of my meal but it was promptly and courtesy corrected.
