This is not a chain but they own several locations. It's unassuming but worth the stop. A cozy country steak house similar to another, but oh SO much better. A huge beautiful salad bar that is well stocked with freshness. Friendly servers offer southern hospitality. The steak was cooked perfectly, delicious potato salad but the star was the fried pork chop! So crispy, hot and juicy; I had to pick it up to clean my bone with no shame. We made a call ahead reservation and we were seated quickly once we were called. Our waitress was STELLAR. We tipped her $20 for outstanding performance under pressure, LOL! Our food was perfection. Cheese fries were good, salads weree cold and crispy with no chemical taste. My filet was made exactly as ordered and the taste was out of this world. They were out of baked potatoes so I can't vouch for that. My husband ordered the Porterhouse Steak and it was the biggest steak we have ever seen in a restaurant. Nothing particularly blew me out of the water nor impressed me. It was fine, but failed to excel. I don't consider myself any sort of steak snob, but there is something tragic about a medium-rare steak that is just "all-right". Service was perfectly fine and acceptable, no bad marks there. Bartender and waitresses seemed to know the locals, and I'm happy to see it. Restaurant is kept clean and neat, decor is mostly wood and corrugated sheet metal. We ordered the two bourbon glazed steaks and sliders. All 3 came with salad bars. The salad bar was beautiful, clean and abundant with stuff. One negative, I ordered a medium steak and it came out rare. It was re cooked but you know. Odd: men's bathroom. Nice find in Frankfort. I stayed in local hotel and Cattleman's was Recommended. From the moment I pulled in the drive, I knew this was a good place based on the number of vehicles in the parking lot. I chose to sit at the bar since I was alone. Plenty of seating and was waited on quickly. I noticed upon walking in a nice looking salad bar. So I selected grilled shrimp and salad bar which was a perfect pairing. The shrimp was REALLY good. Grilled with some blackening seasoning. They were so good. The salad bar was fresh and taken care. This is not your old wimpy lettuce. This was fresh cut and prepared. The bartender told me they have personnel that preps everything daily. I could tell and one of the best I have seen in a long time. I saw several other dishes come out from steaks to chicken and it all looked good. Nice bar selection also. Give Cattleman's a try if you are in town. read more

Absolutely awful experience. I ordered the Alfredo with chicken. The chicken came out undercooked. I sent it back. They didn't remake it. They just took the chicken off the plate and grilled it some more. Not proper food handling at all if chicken is undercooked. Table next to us ordered chicken Alfredo as well and manager went to their table and asked them how everything was. Her Alfredo didn't have very much sauce on it. I chose to have just one patty because it was lunch time. The patty has a white gravy on top. The steak has a crispy crust but tender meat. You also get a side and rolls.
