AAA+ service & execution of dish temperatures. Liam provided exceptional service/guest experience. Well worth the 4 hour drive.

This was half the apple salad! Soo good!

Amazing food! Best steak I've ever eaten and loved the apple salad! The bread was crusty and warm and the compound butter with it was to die for! An order of potato croquettes was tasty but way too much for one person to eat! The service was impeccable! Such a nice place and though it was upscale food and ambiance, we were fine in shorts and T-shirts. No dress code! Thanks again Malone's we will be returning when we go back to Lexington!

Awesome place to eat! Tons of food options. I got the cheeseburger, bacon and steak fries are the best! Dipped in bbq sauce! All you can eat bread and house made butter. Bottomless Lexingtonian salad also is great!

Malones has continued to go down hill but up hill in price. This asparagus was 9 dollars and it does not look edible. We spent a lot of money here and to receive this in return is so upsetting.

Amazing meal!! We came for a family celebration and had a lovely time. We ordered some sushi with was some of the best I've ever had. It was the spicy roll with Yellow Tail. The sushi rice was especially delicious. The Lexingtonian salad was delicious. It's just romaine with tomatoes and bacon with ranch dressing but it comes together beautifully. The butter and bread were great too. We order the twin fillets with the Bernaise which is like hollandaise. We asked for the steak to be cooked rare and it was cooked perfectly to our liking. The Mexican street corn had a great creamy sauce and there are peppers in the it that make it spicy which we loved. The Brussels sprouts were recommended by the waiter and I'm so glad we got them. They were perfectly crispy and the sauce on top was a lovely addition. The sea bass was also perfectly cooked. The little mushrooms on top were tender. It comes with a miso ginger broth that they bring out in a little metal teapot. They should bring a spoon with the meal so you can get all of the broth! If we are near a Malone's again, we will be back for a special occasion!

Sooooo, we come Lexington every year for our Anniversary from Cincinnati. We have been to Malones before but a few years ago wasn't too great. We figured we would give them some time to bounce back from covid & all. Last night had its ups and downs. We ordered the surf & turf roll that used to be fully wrapped in filet .... As u can see in the picture not so much now.... And dont think it was filet definitely & different cut of beef.... When we ordered our meals we asked that our mac & cheese NOT come out watery, the last time we came it was literal noodle with water cheese. Louis said we have changed the mac and cheese; we were so relieved!! .... Also noticed they made some changes to layout of restaurant as well. We both order our steaks medium rare ALWAYS.... Mine came medium at best his arrived perfect medium rare :( ... louis had recommended the shellfish mac and cheese which was verrrrrry dry as u can see in the pic.... My mac n chz however was fantastic great change they have made ... the 3rd star on this review is solely based on the new & improved mac & chez ..... Lexatonian salad was on point as always..... butter that comes with bread less herbs in it as usual kinda taste like cream chz ... not the butter I remember ..... As for service Louis was great ... forgot a couple things here and there but all and all great service from him!

Malone's was, as my sister would say, "a wonderful experience." For starters - their bread was fresh and probably some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The Lexingtonian salad was also a highlight. We ordered the Boneless Rib Eye (cooked medium) with a loaded baked potato. It was savory, seasoned just right, and absolutely delicious. My other sister ordered a Filet Mignon and she said it was very thick and juicy. Blevin was our server, and he was very funny. He announced the arrival of our cheesecake by saying, "Cheesecake Factory!" When I went to take a picture before my sister took a bite, he said, "the camera eats first." We can't wait to come back!

Went here for lunch to celebrate our daughter's graduation. The place is cozy, and they have a very nice bar. Our server and his assistant were great and brought us our food quick. I got the Wagyu Kobe burger with lemon Parmesan broccoli and everything was outstanding! I couldn't finish it all as it is a big burger but I took the rest home to enjoy later. Husband got the French Quarter Alfredo, daughter got the Coach Cal's Chicken and MIL got the salmon spinach salad. Everyone enjoyed it all! Definitely make a reservation if you go!

Malone's has always been my go to for years. This night on particular was one of the best experiences I've had. Our server was amazing (I wish I would've catched his name) but he explained everything very well and answered any questions we had. Went went specifically for there chef favorites this month. We got there Kentucky waygu steak with a side of lobster Mac and cheese and lexingtonian. We also got a sushi roll, one of our favorites is the crunchy munchy roll. And the Atlantic salmon with a side of broccoli.

This visit marked our third time at OBC Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint. This time we experimented with timing and booked an early reservation at 2:45 pm on a Saturday. We crossed over into the dinner menu and discovered something wonderful: the service and ambiance were even better than the busier evening hours after 6 pm. The staff was exceptionally attentive. Every dish and cocktail option was explained thoughtfully, which I appreciate, especially because I enjoy cocktails that come with a bit of theater. When drinks are presented with care, described well, and executed beautifully, the experience becomes part performance, part craft. Here, they delivered perfectly. The food, as always, was superb. We shared several chef selections including Beef Tallow Fries, Southern Grouper, Bacon in a Glass, and the Cola-Braised Short Ribs. Each dish was rich, flavorful, and confidently executed. Dessert continued the celebration with the Churro Cheesecake, and to our delight we were also gifted the Warm Buttermilk Donuts, which felt like a small act of culinary generosity. In a departure from my usual Manhattan and Old Fashioned flights, I tried a Bloody Mary and The Cure, both excellent and beautifully balanced. At this point I can confidently say OBC Kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. The consistency, creativity, and hospitality make every visit memorable. An Absolute Standout in Lexington Dining…read more We decided to give Blue Heron Steakhouse a try after noticing it shared a name with another restaurant in a neighboring county--though it quickly became clear this is a completely different (and exceptional) establishment. Encouraged by strong local reviews praising its cozy, rustic, and intimate atmosphere--along with consistently attentive, friendly service--we walked in with high expectations. Blue Heron exceeded them at every turn. From the moment you enter, the original rustic design and softly ambient lighting set the tone for a dining experience that feels warm, inviting, and effortlessly refined. There's an intimacy to the space that makes it ideal for both special celebrations and elevated everyday dining. Service was outstanding, with special recognition going to our server Carlo. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making the evening exceptional. The entire staff demonstrated professionalism and confidence, offering thoughtful recommendations and personal touches that enhanced the experience without ever feeling intrusive. The menu reflects a clear commitment to farm-to-table dining, showcasing some of the finest locally sourced ingredients available. Every dish balanced innovation with comfort, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine. We began with the baked brie, which was luxuriously creamy and indulgent in all the right ways, followed by West Coast oysters--a smart sourcing choice by the owner. They were impeccably fresh, beautifully plated, and delivered that perfect briny finish oyster lovers crave. For the main course, we selected the Porterhouse Steak for Two, which proved to be the most cost-effective option and an outstanding choice overall. Charbroiled to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and deeply flavorful, the steak was a true centerpiece of the meal. It's served with four sides and accompanied by house steak sauce upon request, with excellent optional additions such as green peppercorn sauce, béarnaise, grilled onions and mushrooms, or bordelaise. The creamed spinach deserves its own praise--it was unlike any we've had before, rich and perfectly executed. The kitchen clearly understands steak preparation at a serious, professional level. Dessert was the perfect finale. Though not typically a carrot cake enthusiast, this version was exceptional--moist, warmly spiced, and beautifully balanced. It was, quite literally, just what the doctor ordered. The cheesecake was equally impressive: silky, restrained in sweetness, and refined. A word of advice: don't forget your wallet. Blue Heron Steakhouse delivers premium quality food and top-tier service, and prices reflect that level of excellence. That said, the experience justifies every dollar. Blue Heron is the kind of restaurant you return to with confidence. Whether marking a milestone or transforming an ordinary Tuesday into something memorable, it consistently delivers. For those who appreciate exceptional steaks, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and elevated, Blue Heron Steakhouse is an absolute must-visit.

However, there are a few things I would like to mention as constructive criticism so the service can improve: 1. One of the young men serving the meat would say things like "You want more?" instead of addressing customers more politely, such as "Would you ladies like more?" I understand that in English this may not sound as noticeable, but for us as Latinas, the way he spoke came across as more disrespectful and lacking manners. It may seem like a small detail, but the way employees speak to customers also reflects the quality of service and professionalism. 2. The same employee was wearing an extremely strong amount of cologne. The smell was so overpowering that it could even be noticed while he was serving the food. Since employees work directly around food, I believe this is something that should be handled more carefully. 3. At the end of the night, we brought a cake for the birthday celebration. Another employee approached us holding a plate and said, "I came for a piece of cake." The way it was said came across as a bit disrespectful or overly confident. I think it would have been more appropriate to politely ask if he could have a slice instead of assuming it. I say all of this respectfully because I believe these are small details that could greatly improve the customer experience.

Columbia Steakhouse proved to be exactly what we were looking for, and then some. Located in the heart of Lexington, Columbia Steakhouse exudes an understated elegance that's perfect for business travelers. The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance: upscale enough to feel special, but relaxed enough that you're not overly formal. The lighting is warm and sophisticated, and the noise level allows for easy conversation--a detail that business diners always appreciate. Our server immediately understood our time constraints and moved things along seamlessly without making us feel rushed. This kind of professional service is rare and deeply appreciated when you're on a tight schedule. I ordered the 14-ounce ribeye, cooked medium-rare, and it was a masterclass in steakhouse execution. The exterior had a beautiful char that provided a subtle smoky flavor, while the interior was perfectly pink and remarkably tender. The marbling throughout ensured every bite was rich and flavorful. What impressed me most was the quality of the beef itself--you could tell this was prime cut meat, properly aged and prepared by someone who knows their craft. The steak came with their signature steak butter, a compound butter with herbs that melted luxuriously over the hot meat, adding another layer of richness without overwhelming the beef's natural flavor. My sides were equally impressive: a loaded baked potato with all the fixings, cooked until the skin was crispy and the interior fluffy, and their grilled asparagus, which had a perfect char and snap to it. My wife chose the filet mignon paired with a lobster tail, and from her first bite, I knew she'd made the right choice. The filet was butter-tender--the kind of cut that practically melts on your tongue. Cooked to a perfect medium, it had that delicate, almost velvety texture that only a properly prepared filet can achieve. The peppercorn sauce she added complemented the beef beautifully without overpowering its subtle flavor. The lobster tail was equally outstanding. Perfectly cooked (no easy feat, as lobster can go from perfect to rubbery in seconds), it was sweet, succulent, and generously portioned. It arrived already butterflied and brushed with drawn butter, making it easy to enjoy. She paired her entrée with the garlic mashed potatoes, which were creamy and indulgent, and the Caesar salad, which featured crisp romaine, house-made dressing, and fresh parmesan. Columbia Steakhouse understands that business travelers value efficiency. From appetizer to dessert, our meal was perfectly paced--we never felt rushed, but we also never experienced those frustrating gaps where you're waiting unnecessarily. Despite being on a schedule, we took advantage of their bourbon selection (we were in Kentucky, after all), and the staff provided excellent recommendations. The bread service deserves special mention--warm, crusty rolls with whipped butter arrived promptly and were outstanding. Small touches like this set great steakhouses apart from good ones. While we were focused on our entrées given our time constraints, we couldn't resist sharing their chocolate lava cake for dessert. It arrived warm with a molten center, accompanied by vanilla ice cream--a perfect sweet ending to an exceptional meal. The Bottom Line Columbia Steakhouse demonstrated why it's a Lexington institution. The quality of both our meals was outstanding, the service was professional and attentive, and the restaurant accommodated our business travel timeline without compromising the experience. The prices reflect the premium quality--this is not a budget option--but for a special business dinner or important client meeting, the investment is absolutely worth it. Whether you're a local or just passing through on business, Columbia Steakhouse delivers on every front. We left satisfied, impressed, and already planning a return visit the next time work brings us to the Bluegrass State. Highly recommended for business travelers, special occasions, or anyone who appreciates expertly prepared steak in a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.

Everything that hit the table was delicious, and there wasn't a single thing we would've changed. From the atmosphere to the service to the food, we loved everything about Columbia Steakhouse. If you're in downtown Lexington and want a phenomenal meal and an even better experience, this place is an absolute must. We'll definitely be back.

You have got to try their fish! Its buttery goodness is cooked perfectly and their baked potatoes don't fall short on flavor! Their chicken sandwich is crispy and tasty. We will continue dining here!

I did ask for a menu, but there appeared to be four or five different menus, which was confusing and not clearly explained at the door. Once our host arrived, we were seated. For anyone wondering about the atmosphere--it's casual and relaxed. Our server, Kelly (if I'm remembering her name correctly), was wonderful. She was attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the meal. She brought out our Smoked Chestnut Old Fashioned, along with the appetizers: spinach artichoke dip and carpaccio. Everything was delicious, and the cocktail was smooth, aromatic, and nicely balanced with a smoky finish. The bread service was also a nice touch. For my entrée, I ordered the 5 oz steak with crab and elote. The steak itself was cooked perfectly--right on temperature, tender, and flavorful. The elote was served separately in a white bowl, as shown in the photo, and was enjoyable on its own. What I didn't understand was the "crab" component, which turned out to be a deep-fried sushi roll. That pairing alongside a steak felt unexpected, and the overall plate composition and presentation didn't quite come together for me. That said, this may simply be a difference in perspective. I personally place a strong emphasis on plate presentation and cohesion, and Malone's may focus more on comfort and execution than visual refinement. Overall: Excellent service, a great cocktail, and a perfectly cooked steak. While the rest of the plate wasn't what I expected, the experience was still enjoyable.
