Casual dining chain restaurants have not been my thing for a long time, but while visiting my dad over Father's day weekend, when he and his neighbors wanted to go get dinner at Longhorn, my hands were tied. We were seated quickly (mainly because we got there at 4:45, lol), and the waitress quickly came by with to take drink orders. The menu was exactly as expected and probably the same as every other location, along with the tacky western decor. I ordered the LongHorn steak tips with mac and cheese and a loaded baked potato. The food was brought out quickly (again, probably because we were there so early). The steak was ok, but drowning in a very sodium rich sauce. The baked potato was as expected, but the mac and cheese was shockingly delicious...rich and creamy...but probably best served in moderation. All together, it was a decent meal, the waitress was attentive and kept our drinks refilled, but again, casual dining chains are just not my go to, they seem to lack flavor, I definitely prefer more unique dishes and local flavor. I understand some like the consistency of chains and being able to get the same meal, and quality from location, and that's fine...just not my thing.

Stopped by LongHorn Steakhouse for a bite and some drinks. Gotta say, the food didn't exactly knock my boots off, but it did the job. I still found myself going back for more. The real winner of the night though? The drinks. Cold, refreshing and hit the spot perfectly. I even had a ginger ale that tasted so good, I had to wonder if they snuck in the fancy kind, definitely not your basic soda fountain situation . Overall, solid spot to unwind, grab a decent meal and enjoy some great drinks. I'd swing back, especially for the drinks. Ambiance was pretty nice.

This is my second visit in 10 yrs. Kelly B was our server What I like here is that all of the waitstaff work together and bring food out to tables when it's ready even when it's not their own table Team work shows - We started with a Texas Onion - served with chipotle dipping sauce (blooming onion to others) If you haven't had a blooming onion, in a long time, you may want to try it out My guest had a Berry Sangria and I ordered a Goose Island IPA x2 My guest ordered the LH Burger with fries - they said it was fine. I had the steak tips with broccoli . My tips were ok, not fantastic. Popular place I wish I could say more.

Not sure why all the negative reviews. Denise (bartender) was great, friendly and cute. The Every Day Value drink selection was cool and affordable. It worked for me. It was a liquid visit this time. But all the bar patrons loved the sirloin and starter salads !! Be back soon ...... .

Service is less than spectacular. First, seating us next to the bathroom really good for the digestion. After the toilet table we were really impressed by the booth next to the kitchen door and so we will see if the food makes up for the ambiance. And then, much to my surprise we were put in a quieter area with more bread and salad than we could ever eat. Omg. What happened? These waitresses are like some strange ninja slash aliens. They pounced like a wolf pack, and did a very amazing job. What started as a big giant question mark ended up being a quite amazing dinner. Come here and try this. Omg. I really think this should be 5 stars. Great rescue by the staff since my wife was smiling all night long.

Usually I have a really good experience at Longhorn steakhouse. Unfortunately when we went to this one in particular, we were not pleased it was not busy whatsoever yet it took us a while to get menus etc. then get back and get orders. Actually I think it's because they might've been short staffed the bartender was also waiting tables and taking takeout orders. It might help flow better if she was only being a bartender. She did have a nice disposition and she was somewhat friendly but I think I would pick a different time than 3:30 in the afternoon to go out and have a late lunch early dinner then we ordered bacon on my husband's medium cheeseburger. We did not get it. It was also very dry. I was something else special on my food. I didn't get it. I ended up having to get a discount on the bill because things are to be taken off because the kitchen made a mistake. Then it seem like most the time is it just kind of ignored even though we were like right there in the bar area I probably will be a while before going back again to see if they hire more staff. Just not up to their usual standard of dining.

I had the grilled octopus which was delicious and tender with a Mediterranean flair. I took a side of garlic broccoli which could have been cooked just a little bit more but was delicious. My wife had the fish and chips which I stole. A little bit of the chips were the best I've had. The fish was delicious. Of course we had to have a traditional old fashioned smoked which was quite a treat. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. Funny and welcoming.. but what really killed it was the ambiance and Old Stone building with beautifully appointed decorations. It was a place that I would love to spend more time in. If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend it.

Love the build out in the old mill building…read more It's interesting that they distill their own liquors, but it's not the main attraction as they are all variations of things you easily find a ton of, either at most liquor stores or even from other area distilleries like Bully Boy. We've had fantastic food there in the past. Also some great drinks. There are a few reasons for the three though. One is that food can be hit or miss and I think prices are far too high for both the area and what you get. Example shown in my pic was a $35 "Steak Frites" entree, which was you can see is basically steak tips with tater tots and some random veggies and sauce put together in what was not the most appetizing manner. Unless the tots were handmade with exotic ingredients, this is not how a Steak Frites should be done, and even then Tots are a pretty low end alternative. Cocktails also on the high side, though the presentation of the smoked ones was really nice, even if the taste didn't warrant the price. Inside the place gets very noisy and the seating is too compacted, probably because they use a large part of the original building for the distillery operation. Also we went on a weekday, and their entire lot was filled, forcing us to find a grass strip to drive onto and park on. I think the reason was they had a private party on the second floor - I think perhaps they allowed too many guests there which took up most of their parking. Last thing about the menu .. we like that it changes, but this week there were not one but several dishes featuring Gochujang - an unusual flavor for sure, which I do like, but when I see something like that peppered across a menu it speaks to cost cutting in terms of trying to stretch one key ingredient. Just not that thrilled with where the menu is at the moment. The outside seating area is great and eliminates the interior noise problems. And I'll add we had a fantastic server! We will definitely come back, but if the prices remain as high and the food and drinks continue to be a mixed bag, that may not remain the case. And please don't overbook private parties unless you can take over the industrial business next door and expand the parking significantly.

The sweet, smoky flavor, mustardy goodness isn't something I've found done as well anywhere else. And the fish itself was cooked perfectly. They paired the fish with the heartiness of the harvest grain side dish you see pictured. It was a huge serving, and I ate the whole thing because it was amaaaazing. My waitress was lovely and efficient, and I also didn't feel rushed. What made it a four star experience rather than 5 stars for me was the ambiance. The music was horrible--like 1980's big hair band type music. It was such a bizarre contrast to the rest of the upscale ambiance, which looked & felt more like a steakhouse. To my chagrin, it wasn't just one "off" song either...the awful selections kept coming throughout the meal. The music gave it more of a dive bar vibe, and it was so completely offputting that I left sooner than I otherwise would have. It honestly gives me pause when I think about coming again. And that's a real shame because I'd like to bring others here to share the amazing eats. I may try it again on another day. But if the music is the same, I'll be walking right back out the door.

The house made chips were a nice addition as I'm not a huge French fry fan. My wife had the fig and prosciutto flatbread and she liked it. Lots of knock knacks on the walls, many related to beer and trains. Deep menu of comfort food made from scratch. Good draft beer list. -- Depot Burger: Their more ambitious of two regular menu burgers (they also have some as specials) was a visual treat in a pillowy Portuguese muffin. This provided a full size patty cooked to medium rare with juices trickling from the gentle, loosely packed beef. Full-coverage Vermont cheddar added silky richness, red onion jam added contrast, and tomato and arugula added vegetation. The star, at least visually, was the bacon: crisp, yet soft and bendable, with glorious color. Flavor was even better, with a deliciously strong cure. The whole package worked beautifully. One of the better burgers I've had this year for sure. -- Fries (a $2 add-on to the burger): A big stack, hand-cut (they also have hand-cut sweet potato fries), cooked just to the point of crispness while leaving a little droop and fluff. Nicely seasoned. -- Beer: I was thrilled to see a Hill Farmstead Double Nelson on the tap list. Smooth, strong, and delicious. -- Buffalo Wings: Looked and felt a little different, so I asked. Baked, then fried, yielding some charred crust on the outside and some tenderness within. Good wings, but with great sauces: the homemade Buffalo sauce had some serious kick, some complexity (little bits of unknown herbs), and some vinegar too. Homemade blue cheese thick and zesty. On Mondays, $1 each in batches of 6 or more, and with a guest flavor on top of their interesting fleet (ginger is next). -- Quahog: A well-rounded stuffed pile with bits of chorizo crispily mixed in, served with lemon wedge. It needed it for moisture, but a formidable offering that still satisfied. -- Caesar Salad: A large one with two well-layered hunks of Romaine, with a zippy (maybe mustard-infused) dressing and a dense coverage of crispy pancetta. Numerous homemade, dice-sized, well-seasoned croutons. No additional Parm and no anchovy pieces I could detect on their, but that dressing didn't let me down. A different kind of Caesar, but a very enjoyable one. -- Steak Tips: Had as an add-on to the salad, this provided a taste without committing to a full order. These don't make my steak tips pantheon (Champions, Tuckaway Tavern, New Bridge Cafe), but decent. Cooked a bit past the medium rare but still somewhat juicy. Nice flavor too, but subtle. I wouldn't get these again; too many better things on the menu. Service at the bar was cordial and attentive on both visits. Friendly staff all around. Not everything was perfect, but so much of it was (and no duds) that it's impossible not to drop a 5 based on the overall quality of every aspect.
