The salad was cut too thin to not be able to be easily picked up with a fork, lacked flavor, and the grilled chicken seemed to be reheated and rubbery. The prosciutto and fig flatbread was decent but nothing to rave about. The hostess was bubbly and sweet, however the waiter seemed unimpressed himself. Found ourselves in Franklin in need of dinner and a beer and the shed checked the boxes. It's located in a plaza with other restaurants and a supermarket so it was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a couple of chipper teenage hostesses and we were even able to pick our table. Our server seemed a little off at first but he warmed up after a little banter; perhaps he was just feeling us out. Beer menu was great but did not necessarily contain anything rare. I had a foam ipa and a stout from dorchester brewing to follow. I had the smash burger. It seemed like a true smash as it was crispy on the outside and had the right amount of grease. The house made chips were a nice addition as I'm not a huge French fry fan. My wife had the fig and prosciutto flatbread and she liked it. Have been in here before and love coming back. The food and service are always excellent - and they have a rotating cocktail list that i feel is regularly changing to suit the season. The jambalaya was really good, as was the saltimbocca chicken. Would love to try one of the desserts sometime, but the serving sizes are large so i haven't had room for dessert yet! read more

This place used to be decent and it's terrible now. We had two apps and both were just not good. The special egg rolls were dry as dirt and the fog pizza was just a glop of cheese. Then to top it off the bartender at the bar tried passing Goff these two beers from the same tap as normal (see picture). Great service, great atmosphere, great food. Liz F took care of us, was kind and courteous, gave us a rec or two. Chicken wings and bbq turkey tips were the clear winners! Loved a fresh wing, crispy saucy as it should be. The turkey was not dry! Love that as sometimes people serve them dry and tough, sirloin was good as well, but the sauce there was so heavy on the alcohol I felt like you could take it as a shot. We ate dinner at the shed tonight. We ordered the short rib nachos, which were amazing as always. My husband ordered a Manhattan with knob Creek bourbon as he does at many restaurants. When the bill came, they charged us $45 because he ordered knob Creek bourbon. The bartender did not tell us that this was a special brand. It wasn't until we receive the bill that we saw that the charge was $45. It felt very sneaky. The nachos are a must and the grilled buffalo chicken flatbread is to die for, but what really made this place special for us was the kindness of the staff. The Shed in Franklin is an excellent spot and a standout in an area where it is not always easy to find truly good places to eat in the suburbs. It is a smaller space, but the bar is surprisingly large, and the staff is friendly, attentive, and very helpful. The drink selection is strong, with plenty on tap, and the food is both creative and flavorful. The street corn dip with chips is a great starter, and the salmon chili is especially well done. Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes, so you get solid value. The only downside is that you may have to wait for a seat since they do not take reservations and the place fills up quickly--but that is usually a sign they are doing something right. read more

For those of you who have been following me, you know that I'm always looking for that burger so read the reviews. The double stack Smashburger was the thing to get. we got the muscles, which were done very well as expected, but what the thing that made it great was the garlic bread for dipping into the muscle sauce. You would never think that a simple garlic bread could change the experience, but definitely worth a try. Moving onto the burger nice presentation stacked very well on a brioche bun. I have to say that I did not get the.mmmmmm factor that I thought I would. But it was a solid burger perhaps the bear tainted my taste buds when I had the bite or it tasted a little more acidic from the pickles and the special sauce. You know how sometimes you chase flavors? I mean you have something once and it sticks with you. My uncle used to make teriyaki wings for family parties. I never got his recipe but when I tasted Sheds wings- it brought me back to standing over a tray of my uncle's wings at a family gathering. Thank you for that Shed! But I will say- don't be so lite handed with the sauce. I like a lot of sauce. No A1. I was ready to order steak tips but no A1 sealed that deal for me. I pivoted and we went with sharing wings, fries and buffalo dip. I can share, the menu at first sounded good but as I read ingredients I was then thrown into a situation of I like everything but one ingredient in a few things. Then I felt more limited. The buffalo dip- why are cooked onions in there? This was not in the description so it wasn't a pleasant surprise. I found it difficult to scoop the dip because the onion was then an issue flopping off and being messy. I have never had onions in a buffalo dip and in my opinion they can stay out. Overall we had a nice waitress. Clean, sleek atmosphere. Do they have an overflow problem? Yes. We were crowded by people waiting for tables around our table. This was weird to me. So much promise based on website and menu but actual restaurant and food did not deliver. We made it a point to go here after seeing the Sunday brunch menu online. The food was amazing! We love the focaccia. With such a robust bar but being a sober person, I really appreciated a whole separate mocktail menu. The Shed is a cute place with a nice bar and some covered outdoor seating. The drink options are unique and fun, including non-alcoholic ones, which our kids appreciate. Sadly, the food is just okay. We've been a few times, as Franklin has next-to-no options, and we've felt the same way each time. The menu reads well, but the food is either bland or has weird flavor. Most recently, our blackened fish tacos had little spice, and the lobster roll ($35) had a really strange taste I couldn't identify. It was supposed to be dressed in a lemon aioli, but the flavor was sour and just pretty bad, to the point where I couldn't eat most of it. Homemade chips are good though! read more

I now have visited twice in the last seven days, and both times it was a five star experience. It's hard to go wrong on the cocktail side... Two in particular for you to consider would be the Triple B... a Bourbon masterpiece, and then my wife tried the invisible chocolate martini! It is as delicious as it is mysterious... The bartenders are coaxing a lot of flavor out of three colorless spirits... Even though you can't see it, it makes up for it in deliciousness. We also had the brisket nachos-- do yourself a favor and get those because they complement just about any beer or cocktail you could want. And... very very few establishments here in the Boston area feature Trillium on draft, because it's one of the elusive hard to get beers we have, but sure enough they have it. The atmosphere is laid-back yet cozy. It's easily one of the finest spots in the area for top-notch craft beers. We indulged in the Mediterranean flatbread alongside some IPAs. I had been looking forward to trying this place since they opened and finally made it. The cocktails I had were excellent, I tried the twisted pear which had great flavors. The nutty old fashioned was amazing, the best old fashioned I've been served at a restaurant. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. My mom ordered a salad with swordfish which was cold. She had to send it back. They put the same piece of fish back on the grill (she had taken a bite) and it came back rubbery. The time it took for them to put it back on the grill was plenty of time to cook a fresh piece of fish. She had to send it back again. I ordered the Buddha bowl with chicken and it was...odd. The butternut squash in the bowl was ice cold (I assume on purpose), not sure why they would serve squash cold. In addition the pickled ginger and onions were unnaturally colored and therefore not appealing. I ate it because I was starving and didn't feel like ordering again. My dad got a smash burger which he was not thrilled with. Our waitress was lovely and they did remove the dish from the bill and comped my mom's new order. First, I made the mistake of trusting The Shed's Yelp listing which said they opened at 4:00 pm. Ordinarily, I wouldn't trust Yelp, but The Shed's own webpage has NO info about hours. Second, almost 10 minutes after ordering an appetizer, our server reported that the kitchen had ruined the first try. Over 5 minutes later, the appetizer arrived undercooked. Third, my mahi mahi was WAY overcooked, and a dining partner said her sirloin tips were almost raw. Glad I found this spot a bit ago. Its always a nice time, great for food and drinks. Cute on the inside and plenty of parking on the outside. It looked like there was outside seating as well. Our experience was actually quite awful. Beverage service was quite prompt but not so with our dinners. When we arrived around 5:45 on a Wednesday evening the place was not very crowded at all. We placed our orders almost immediately and waited nearly an hour for the food to arrive. These were not complex orders, simply chicken pot pie and a quesadilla. Other diners, arriving after us, had already been served and appeared to be finishing up. When our luke warm meals finally arrived, we were very unimpressed. The quesadilla was almost okay, certainly nothing to write home about. The chicken pot pie was truly the worst one I've ever had, having had many over decades of this having been one of my favorites. Imagine putting your fork in and the entire meal coming out as one large glob! Very distressing. Oh, and BTW, would be nice if the minuscule wine portions were amped up a bit. Found a great new spot in Franklin today. The Shed has a great vibe. The interior has a cool wood plank walls behind the bar and used as accents, with walnut table tops continuing that theme. The drinks menu came on a wooden board that was laser engraved with the bourbon menu on one side and a paper beer menu on the other. It was super inviting and comfortable. They have an excellent craft beer menu. We tried the Mighty Squirrel Cloud Candy, Maine Lunch and Aeronaut Citra Galaxy Session. They were all delicious. They also have an expansive bourbon selection. Bourbon isn't my drink but I included a photo for all who are interested. Gina was our server and she made us feel right at home! She made good recommendations and was very attentive. The place was packed but we never felt like we had to wait. We started with flatbread - Caramelized onions, baby arugula, prosciutto, lemon balsamic drizzle, oil and garlic, parmesan cheese. The prosciutto's crispy salty taste was perfect with the sweet onions and arugula. My husband had the Cherry Mole Pulled Pork Tacos. Cherry mole pulled pork, flour or corn tortillas, red onion herb relish, served with homemade chips. I had the Ginger Tomato Salad with salmon. Cherry tomatoes, mixed greens, candied hazelnuts, gorgonzola, red onions, house made croutons, ginger balsamic vinaigrette. It was great!
