I have to be honest, I had average expectations. This was one of the best meals I have had in a while. Started out with the smoked wings, which were out of this world. Stoped in for the first time today for lunch. I ordered ribs and brisket. The ribs were burnt and the brisket was tough and dry. The sides baked beans were almost edible,the dirty rice was not fresh and over cooked. I will not go back there. I advise caution in picking this restaurant. Obviously they lack smoking knowledge. The service was excellent,the server was friendly and efficient,now all they have to do is figure out how to smoke and serve good BBQ. The ambiance was average but the place was clean. I've been here a few times and every time is just as bad as the last. One waiter we had was very unfamiliar with the restaurant and the food and was not helpful at all. Also, the food here is dreadful. The brisket I received was very overcooked and dry, the texture was grainy and you could tell that it was old and reheated. I ordered it with a sausage as well and the flavor on it was very odd with a very sandy texture to it. The next time I went, I tried to go with a safer option which was a simple chicken and fries. However I was disgusted when I tried the fries and they were soggy and had a putrid vinegar taste. Also, the chicken was horrible, it was like eating a brick. I have been to PJ Smoke dozens of times especially over the pandemic, and it is the best in the area IMO. Pulled pork, brisket, ribs, smoked turkey, burnt ends. they're all good, but my favorite is the 2 meat combo - with ribs and the brisket. My wife loves to smoke turkey, All the sides are solid, and the cornbread is outstanding. Their Brussels sprouts are our favorite- a great side dish! One thing to be aware of just around the time the pandemic started the restaurant decided to charge 3-4 % when you use credit cards. Use cash and avoid the surcharge. What went well-what didn't go well? Bbq really delicious. Easily the best bbq in metrowest. Huge menu. Other options like burgers and salads as well just in case someone in your party doesn't want a heavy meal. Ribs perfectly cooked. Not fall off the bone but close. Sauce great. Sides great as well. Ordered a drink and after 15 minutes of waiting for it we had to find our waitress to cancel drink order just so we could pay and leave. I picked up an order today that included the BLT Tip salad. The wings were fine but the salad had 3 small pieces of steak tips which was disappointing considering the price of the salad, but the worst part was the rotten cucumbers. The cucumbers were soft and mushy with the skin falling off of the slimy, rotten edges. I picked them off but after looking at the remaining salad I felt it was safest not to eat it it since the greens were soggy and possibly cross contaminated by the spoiled cucumbers. I called to let the restaurant know and check the remaining salads for spoilage and they said they would let the kitchen know. read more

My workplace just had a catered lunch from PJ's, and it was delicious! They were very professional with the delivery and set up, and the food was excellent. Some stand out favorites included the cornbread, which was like eating cake, it was so good! The chopped brisket was delicious, with the perfect blend of lean and fat throughout. The pulled pork was flavorful and juicy. The baked beans had a nice kick and a nice sweet tang. The roasted potatoes and garlic rice were perfectly seasoned. Plus their bbq sauces were really good. I've been a frequent visitor to both PJ's Smoke & Grill and their sister restaurant in Bellingham. Never had a bad meal or bad service in over two dozen visits, and never hesitated in recommending it to friends and co-workers in the area. Was a huge fan, and was really happy to see that smoker-gate worked itself out last year. UNTIL last night's visit. Again, a great meal and good time, until the waiter presented our check and asked if we were interested in saving money on the bill. Of course, we said yes; he said the details are written up on a card in the bill folio. He made it sound like they had a restaurant loyalty program of sorts, so I was interested... Basically, the card inside was entitled "Cash Discount Program Notification." It was nothing of the sort, and basically explained that they deceptively tacked on a 4% Customer Service Fee to the bill (that was not explained by the wait staff or in any restaurant literature BEFORE ordering), and that if you wanted most of it back, you had to pay cash. Really? See the attached photo of the card. It's possible this charge was on some of my prior bills and I didn't catch it, but I'm guessing it's a relatively new thing. Now it's not a lot of money, but it's the principle of the thing-- and this is slimy. I loathe deceptive business practices (this truly felt like a scam; especially the way the waiter pitched it). I won't be back, and will certainly warn those I made recommendations to. Truly a shame. read more

We love the PJs in Bellingham and heard great things about the bbq PJs so gave it a try. We sat at the bar and were tended to right away. The staff was really great and our drinks and food came quickly. The place is clean and very big with lots of seating in the dining room and around the bar area. The food was delicious! We had the sausage appetizer and the dipping sauce was so yummy. I got the turkey club with a side of Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese had good flavor but mine could have used a bit more of the creamy cheese. The turkey club was also great! My boyfriend got a pulled pork sandwich that was to die for. This is a great restaurant and in the location of the former Zio Paolo's. Finally tried this place after good word of mouth. We did takeout, though we saw their quaint outdoor dining setup outside - diners seemed spaced an appropriate distance apart. We did two orders of two meats/sides and kids meals, and a cocktail to go (had to get the Painkiller which basically tasted like a Pina Colada - awesome!!!) We tried the brisket, the ribs and the pulled pork to share among 6 family members and there were some leftovers for the next day. I liked the ribs the best! We also liked the brisket but didn't get to try as much / will order again next time. The Mac and cheese was also pretty good (not Kraft box-lol!). So good! We are supporting local restaurants during this pandemic and this week we tried PJ's Smoke & Grill. We've been to the Bellingham location several times but not the Medway spot. I am looking forward to when we can go in and sit down and really enjoy our meal. The food was absolutely delicious! The smoke was perfect! The sauce was delicious! We got the Smoked Wings, Cran Apple Chicken Salad, Burnt Ends, Ribs, Mac & Cheese, Cornbread. The salad was perfect! Nothing was wilted, all fresh ingredients. The burnt ends and ribs were fantastic! Not too saucy, not too dry. Perfect! The chicken wings were HUGE! If I had to nit-pick, and trust me its pushing it, I wish the cornbread was warm. But the side of sweet butter made it just so good. I look forward to visiting again! This meal was better than some meals I had when I visited Texas. read more
