Came in for lunch after a visit to Home Depot next door. We had the $14.99 special - I had a nice thick hamburger cooked medium rare, with cheese, tomato and onion ring pieces under the bun, plus sweet potato fries, and later a piece of cheesecake. My dear wife had a petite sirloin steak with a baked potato and salad. Really quite good for the price, not too busy before dinner, and service was good, plus plenty of parking. I have fond memories of Outback from my childhood and either my taste buds and expectations have evolved or this restaurant has gone down hill. Either way, you're in for a subpar meal. What we like: the Australian themed restaurant and menu, the service whether dine in or take out which they bring to your car, and the coconut shrimp. Everything else including the steak is just average or worse. For a steakhouse, I'd really expect better seasoning and cuts of meat than we tend to get. There are better chain steakhouses in the area to enjoy. read more

A couple months ago, my husband and I ate dinner here at the bar. We had to ask for everything that normally the server or bartender give you without asking: menus, silverware, bread. I ordered a cranberry juice with my meal, and asked for a splash of ginger ale in it, and the bartender had the gall to charge me $8 for a "mocktail." I went here for lunch today for my birthday lunch. I was seated right when I walked up by a polite host. Then the waitress came over and took our drink and appetizer and food order. So many things wrong on a recent visit, including not 1 but two entrees featuring steak (Kingsland Steak/Shrimp, Porterhouse) both had off-tasting steak. Food quality was poor enough, but the prices in this chain have been growing worse, and this goes back long before COVID. If you are going to charge $40 for a steak, that steak better be great. The addition of the annoying electronic menu/kiosks was unexpected and unwanted - those things are not only disgusting to touch, but I don't need yet another screen blasting ads at the table. On top of this, our waitress was both non-attentive at times (spent a good 10 minutes loudly conversion with the table directly next to use while not paying us any attention while we were waiting to place our entree orders), and argumentative at others when we complained about the food quality. Overall, think it's time to just stop going altogether (I've been going to this chain for 15-20 years I think) because it never gets better, and given how highly priced it is, no reason not to give my business to Longhorn or better yet a locally owned non-chain place. Outback needs a complete rehaul IMO. read more

The food is pretty much what you would expect from an Outback Steak house. We have visited over the last few years and have not had a bad experience. Everything is above average, the food, the service and the atmosphere. On busy nights it can get a bit on the loud side, but not overwhelming. read more

The level of service that my family received by the staff at Outback in Bellingham was really good, beginning with the door greeter, on a fairly busy Friday evening, but the waiter, Chen, was an unexpected all-star personality that we loved! We were a party of four that was seated right away. The traditional dark pumpernickel loaf arrived warm and fresh with butter moments before Chen came over and introduced himself as our waiter. He took the time to point out and explain all of the specials along with taking our drink order and even accommodated a special request by my daughter, without hesitation, which made her happy from the very beginning of our experience. For apps we got the Blooming Onion which was on point along with margaritas! For steaks we got the surf and turf and the Victoria filet. Both were cooked as requested and just full of flavor. The fries were "well done" to perfection as requested. The evening was perfectly capped off with fresh coffee and four spoons for the superb thunder from down under (think brownie sundae). Yum! While the service and very empty restaurant on Easter was good, the meal was subpar. Two of us ordered a medium prime and I had a med rare. Our guests serving was a med rare for certain and a lot of gristle. Mine was very hard to cut. I definitely won't be back for PR. The salad lacked enough honey mustard. A great night at the Outback! At 11am, I called for a reservation for 30 people at 5:30, and then proceeded to add 5 more by the time we arrived. The Outback did not even blink and warmly welcomed us. Service was great overall, and we greatly appreciated or server, Brianna's, accommodation to split the check based on our team numbers (seems complicated but it really simplifies payment). She told us they were short runners but we never noticed because food and drinks came out so quickly. Food at the Outback was solid, as usual, and everyone left stuffed. I haven't been to an outback for several years so we decided to try it again. We went to the location in Bellingham, MA. We all ordered the specials with thev6 oz sirloin. I upgraded mine with thr wedge salad. My salad had a big wedge of lettuce but only 3 cherry tomatoes, and virtually no dressing. All three steaks (2 medium, 1 medium rare) Were so tough We has trouble cutting them even with the steak knives. Got takeout tonight. Soup and salad for my wife and a baked potato for myself. The baked potato was so dry it must have been cooked another day other than today. Inedible. Asked for no sour cream but came with it. I didn't see it in the small cut the ads ins came in. My wife's salad was warm and her soup was barely warm at all. Stopped in to get a beer and the bartender looked at me and turned around without saying a word. 5 minutes later the bar back came to me, handed menus and said that the bartender would be right with me. 10 minutes later I left without ever being addressed by the bartender. It's been years since we dined at Outback as the restaurant footprint seems to get smaller and smaller with recent closings. The Bellingham location was nice to see. Party of six had dinner on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered an appetizer sampler with blooming onion petals, cheese fries and macaroni balls. All were very good, especially the petals. Dinner consisted of salad topped with grilled sirloin, Outback burger, bone in ribeye and ribeye. Both ribeye steaks were perfectly cooked and had a delicious grilled flavor. Dinner sized salad was huge, and burger was tasty. Side of mashed potatoes was creamy and delicious Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, but had to be reminded a couple of times for water and eating utensils. read more

I've been to this Bellingham Outback location 2 times in the last few months and both times the service was subpar at best. The first time the service was so slow it was painful. We were a party of 8 and understand that's on the larger side, but the waiter we had was just no where to be found every time we needed something. The second time the waitress was a little better but still not around when we needed something, not overly attentive as far as refills on drinks go or checking back on the food (which was an issue at one point) Overall the food at Outback is good, but I'd rank them third on my goto list of chain steak houses behind Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn. It is pricey, but so are the other 2 options I mentioned. It's because or that, that for me any of these choices are a real treat and I want the food and service to be stellar! My food at both recent visits was ok. I had the blooming chicken entree once and the prime rib sandwich another time. I'd recommend either of these meals, but would have enjoyed them more with a shorter wait and a more attentive wait staff. Not much more to say really. I'd say take into consideration what you are near and which of the big 3 you've had the best meals at then stick with that one when you can! Thanks!! read more

We all know that family-owned, mom & pop places are the best, but sometimes a chain or franchise can provide a good dining experience. Such was my experience at the Bellingham Outback. We were greeted and seated promptly, given a spacious, comfy booth. Our waitperson, Casey, was attentive and fun.the wine and beer selections were decent and we started our meal with a small, warm loaf of complimentary pumpernickel bread with whipped butter. Very nice. Not being a steak eater, I opted for the Alice Springs Chicken, a signature dish. Fir sides, I had the Caesar salad and baked potato. The salad was amazing and so generous that I couldn't finish it before the main course arrived. The large baked potato was obviously oven baked - not microwaved - and delicious. The chicken breast was tender, smothered in cheese and bacon strips. The days was served on the side and was really good. My only complaint is that the bacon was not crispy and had a fair amount of inedible fat. I managed to eat around it. The flavors melded together nicely. My date ordered the prime rib, cooked medium. He was very pleased and it was a generous cut. The accompanying French fries were crispy and hot. He had green beans for his other side. Again, it was a generous portion and they were cooked perfectly - with a little crunch to them. We both did our meals justice, nearly finishing, but not quite. We decided on decaf coffee and shared a piece of strawberry cheese cake. The decaf was very good, piping hot. I could barely get through half of the cheesecake and we were both glad not to have ordered separate desserts. Overall, a great dining experience. Once again, I was enjoying myself so that photos were not taken. You'll have to trust me that the presentations were very nice, the portions generous, the food hot and the service fabulous. read more

We ordered drinks and Shrooms and Coconut Shrimp for an app. 20 minutes later we got the food but had to remind the waiter to check on drinks. We asked for water 3 times before we got it. The main course of BBQ Ribs came. Calling them overdone was mild. Overcooked, dried out and chew. By the time the waiter came by again we had eaten what we could. I told the waiter about the ribs and said he offered to get another order. We said no and asked for the bill. All of this took 2 1/2 hours. My advise - avoid Outback. I won't be back. read more

She had a good attitude which is important and worth an extra star on this review. But there were so many issues with our order that I have to share: 1. One of our apps was brought out after our main dish and the dipping cheeses were cold and they are definitely supposed to be hot. 2. She forgot our drinks on a couple occasions 3. No salt or pepper and had to wait a while to get after requesting while waiting to eat our food 4. My husband and I love this place and since we've moved, we haven't seen our buddies there in a few months. Tanya the cook manager who also was front manager is wicked awesome. She will literally come out of the kitchen to serve us our food when she knows we're there. JV, I can not say enough about him. Both our dogs were sick at the same time, he was so sympathetic and sat down next to me like a friend and told me it would be ok. I literally apologized for crying in front of him one day bc he always asks about our current dogs and the two that passed. He was so understanding. It didn't even feel like you were at a restaurant- but that you were literally at a friends house eating because that's how most of their servers that we know and management treat us - like friends. If outback takes something off the memo that you initially liked, they offer to try to mimic what you liked. read more
