Came in here with a team of 30 people. They had the tables set with waters, and a few minutes after we sat down, all of our food was ready and coming out. Everyone working was super nice and the food tasted great. Jamia & Marc were our primary servers and the manager Mitsy was a great. They have a ton of these restaurants all over the country and I have yet been let down. Well once, many moons ago and it had more to do with the seafood rather than the main character. But other than that, this is a place I can consistently get good meat at. The steak has always been prepared to my liking and they have never let me down on their medium rares, that's all I ask for. I've had several of their appetizers, one in particular which I believe they don't serve anymore but it was their fried shrimp with asian sauce. If you get this, please bring it back, for a limited time. This establishment is located in Manhattan Kansas, decent amount of parking, even if you have to do a minute of walking, you'll find some parking eventually. The decor is medium dark, wooden, like a manly den. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and once we got the ball rolling, attentive. But if you purposely and daily serve up high calorie, high saturated fat, fried and cured meat...and get people to pay you...well then Darwin is once again correct. If you need a place to host a table of friends with great food, awesome service and ambiance that does not drown out conversations, Longhorn is perfection! I hosted a group of 10 last night and conversation, being able to hear each other speak, was extremely important! We had the big round table at the far end of the dining room and on Sunday evening it was not crowded, we did not feel rushed and the servers were awesome! And oh my goodness, the steaks were amazing! I was slightly disappointed when my Flo's Filet was not as thick cut as the menu picture but the flavor was out of this world and sooo tender it almost melted in my mouth! I'm just used to a thicker cut! But this one did not disappoint!!! Yummo! My group had great conversation, servers came around unobtrusively filling drinks and were almost invisibly attentive! It was perfection! I've always had one pet peeve about steaks being served before we finish our salads, because the table gets so crowded with dishes and the steak & side dish gets cold while I finish the salad! But as our server brought out the salads, I mentioned that we'd prefer to have the table cleared of salads before they bring out the entrée steaks and they very sweetly obliged! These two ladies have been well trained and obviously know the fine art of table service! It was the best dining experience I've had in a very long time!!! Today wasn't a great day for service sadly. We came in with very hungry kids... not sure of our waitress wasn't happy about that or what.... From wrong drink than ordered, no straws & not being able to request any for awhile (it wasn't busy), to no drink refills, nor were we asked if we wanted anything else or dessert and then the ticket was sopping wet and we couldn't even read to see what we had been billed. Incidentally, we never saw anything expect the ticket to sign... but without a pen to even sign it. We overheard another table having to request straws as well and interestingly enough the table next was asked by their waitress (not the same as ours) how their food was and if they needed any several times and also if they would like dessert or any waters to go... ours just didn't seem to care. ‍ The best part of the night was the bread and that WAS asked if we would like a refill - we did. We come here a lot. It's menus is conducive to the gluten free needs of the hubby. He had a prime rib, which is says was "fuuuuuucckking awesome" I just had a salad with steak... CONS: Asked for blackberry tea, was asked if I meant blackberry sangria, was then handed a raspberry tea instead. Asked if we would like a loaf of bread and some butter, was given a brick and what I thought was white cement. There was enough crumbs from the loaf of brick that you could put the pieces back together and make a new loaf. Was not once told yeehaw for such a country themed establishment, even though they have a giant cow head on the wall. Salt shaker confused me, ended up pouring a pound of salt on my broccoli. PROS: They have heavy knives to cut your bricks with, would recommend bringing your pick axe with Efficiency IV though. It will be a VERY LONG TIME BEFORE I GO BACK! The hostess needs to learn manners and customer service skills!!! I was told that it would be a 15 minute wait. Normally I can understand but the restaurant had maybe 10 people and it was 2:30pm. She stated that there's not enough wait staff!!! It was just me! So I called this establishment yesterday to see if the health score on Yelp was correct. Let me just start off by saying if you don't know what a health score is, you shouldn't be in business. The first young lady that answered the phone was so confused you would've thought I was asking for the Krabby party formula. Then she went and got the manager. We haven't been to a Longhorn in years and received a gift card for Christmas. We were pleased. The only negative was my husbands filet was over cooked. He ordered medium & it was closer to med well. By the time he realized he figured it wasn't worth sending back to wait longer to have another cooked. I ordered the Napa Grilled Chicken w/a plain sweet potato, both were absolutely delicious. Keep in mind, I'm rating this place compared to other chain restaurants. If I was comparing it to Harry's or JP's Union Station, that would be on a different scale, right? I don't know if the low-rated reviews are really about this particular Longhorn's Steakhouse, because I was here today with a group of five for lunch, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The greeter and waiter were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We ordered the Texas Tonion and their new Surf & Surf for starters. The Surf & Surf is shrimp in a creamy sauce with pita chips, and was delicious. The Tonion was crispy and had a good flavor, especially with the dipping sauce it was served with, but I took 1/2 star off the score for being a little too oily. Minor thing, and maybe just me. I ordered the flat iron steak with their mashed potatoes, and it was AWESOME. The steak was super tender and juicy, seasoned perfectly (nice blend of flavorings, and not too salty - really brought out the flavor of the beef), and cooked perfectly at the medium rare I requested. I asked for steak sauce, but ended up not using any because after tasting the steak, I decided it didn't need anything more. The mashed potatoes were also perfect, smooth and creamy with a garlicky kick. All the other food served at our table looked and smelled delicious, and everyone ate with enthusiasm. For a chain restaurant, Longhorn's is a cut above. 4.5 stars. I'll definitely be back. read more

After several visits I'm NOT impressed in the least. This establishment could care less about take out orders and always shafts you on the portion size when it comes to take out. No matter what you ask for on the phone it inevitably never makes it to the bag when you pick it up. And then when you ask for it you can tack on an additional 10 minutes to your wait. Food... Wasn't and isn't all that great. It's good enough, but not for the cost. My wife does love their lobster tail though. With the addition of the "Texas Roadhouse" to Manhattan I'm thinking Longhorn's days are numbered unless they pull it together. Came out on the plate soaked through with nasty butter (that I want even told would be on it). So heavy on seasoning that you literally could not taste meat at all. Had the 20oz Porterhouse and was the worst steak I've had in years.
