    Ribeye and Sweet Potato

They have a ton of these restaurants all over the country and I have yet been let down. Well once, many moons ago and it had more to do with the seafood rather than the main character. But other than that, this is a place I can consistently get good meat at. The steak has always been prepared to my liking and they have never let me down on their medium rares, that's all I ask for. I've had several of their appetizers, one in particular which I believe they don't serve anymore but it was their fried shrimp with asian sauce. If you get this, please bring it back, for a limited time. This establishment is located in Manhattan Kansas, decent amount of parking, even if you have to do a minute of walking, you'll find some parking eventually. The decor is medium dark, wooden, like a manly den. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and once we got the ball rolling, attentive. This place can get pretty busy so just be aware of the parking or waiting on a table.

Staff was welcoming. Ordered the 24 Oz Longhorn Porterhouse with broccoli. Temperature was perfect and steak was flavorful. If you're looking for a great steak, this is the place to go! Also ordered the 6oz ribeye, which was correctly prepared and delicious.

Outlaw Ribeye of course. 18 oz cut is bone-in, well-marbled, fire-grilled, juicy and f*cking delicious.

We come here a lot. It's menus is conducive to the gluten free needs of the hubby. He had a prime rib, which is says was "fuuuuuucckking awesome" I just had a salad with steak... But the point of this review is the waitress. She is the greatest! Jenessa (Jennifer and Vanessa in one) It's our second year anniversary and she brought us out a complementary chocolate cake!!!! Then remember the hubby couldn't have any and went back to have an awesome ice cream Sunday made for him!!! Really this made our night!!

A lot of the steaks are pretty pricey, but their chuck roast is very good value (3 ish pounds ranges from 25-45 dollars depending on fat content). You can definitely taste the difference in the meat quality.

I had no idea there is a local wagyu shop in town! Last night Eric R. and I attended a HYPE event…read morehere for a wagyu tasting. Our host Tyler shared the history of wagyu beef in Japan, how it made its way to the U.S., and what is different between the two countries in production. Booth Creek's ranch is located just 20 miles away, so the cattle are raised locally. Marbling content is verified for each cow by a lab in Japan! There are three levels of marbling (silver10-15%, gold 16-25%, platinum 25%+). This is not a quality indicator but is along the lines of USDA's select, choice, prime (though the fat content in wagyu is much higher). The store has frozen cases divided by these levels, as well as a frozen bargain bin (20% off) and fresh cases in the middle of the store. The tasting began with beef charcuterie boards: jerky, jalapeno cheese snack sticks, and summer sausage with some cheeses. Then we were served wagyu meatballs cooked in Cox's BBQ sauce and honey from Booth Creek. The second course was a picanha roast, smoked and sliced like a prime rib. It was really close to the prime rib flavor and texture, but at a much better price point. Lastly, Tyler brought out KC strip steaks (platinum level, seasoned with salt and pepper only) that were sous vide at 127 degrees, and seared them on a flat top in beef tallow. After he let them rest for five minutes, he sliced them and we got to try them. They were incredibly juicy and tender, seasoned well. It makes me consider the sous vide method at home though I do not have the tools right now. They offered some bundles and discounts as they kept the shop open late for us. We ended up buying gold label fajita meat and filet mignon steaks plus a bargain bin silver label filet tips. I cannot believe I have access to locally raised quality wagyu beef here in Manhattan! Beef is definitely what I had for dinner last night!

Honestly, one of the best managers I've come across in a long time. I let him know that I was from California and wanted to order extra rolls but the website wasn't letting me. He helped me get the rolls that I have been craving for over a year haha. Then I went to the pick up window and I had a young lady help me out with my order. She was also super nice and friendly. The food that I ordered came out the way I ordered it and the food is amazing. I didn't eat at the restaurant so I'm not sure about the ambiance but it looked clean from what I have seen. 10 out of 10 recommend. Thank you to the staff for the amazing service and the food! The staff I've interacted with for curbside have been polite and apologetic when things run late. Unfortunately, the curbside to-go experience has been consistently frustrating. On multiple occasions, I've gotten the text notification that my order was ready, arrived within 5-10 minutes, checked in, and still waited 20-30 minutes in my parking spot for the food to be brought out. By the time I get home, everything is barely warm, which really takes away from what should be a good meal. It seems like the restaurant isn't set up well to handle curbside efficiently during busier times--whether it's staffing, coordination, or just prioritizing dine-in over to-go. Until the pickup process gets more reliable, I can't recommend ordering takeout here and choose another spot to-go in the future.

I've been fortunate enough to live in major cities in the US, which of course means I've been…read moreblessed with a variety of different cuisines from all over the world. Jamaica, naturally, is no exception, so I don't usually get truly wowed by one of my favorite dishes, Jerk Chicken, when I order it at a new restaurant. Until today. If there was a definition for hole in the wall restaurants, it would be The Little Grill. Blink and you'll drive right by it. But once you come inside, you're greeted by the owner with a smile and a warm welcome. My server (I believe he said Bert, but I could be wrong) was so very kind, and did a great job recommending items from the menu. Which leads me to the Rum Punch. And a punch it certainly has, in the best way possible. So many times you drink a Rum Punch in the US it's overly sweet and watered down that you lose the flavor of the rum. Not here. Seriously, I'm from Denver where even in a bigger city it's hard to find a rum punch prepared the right way, but I'm sitting here in the middle of Kansas having one of the best Rum Punches I've tasted. Not in Kansas City, but just outside of Manhattan (the little apple, not the big one!) The drink was nice and fruity without being too sweet, and a nice kick from the rum. 10/10. Then we have the grilled chicken leg and pork chop combo (you can order it with jerk sauce or bbq sauce... but you have to get the jerk sauce) that was out of this world. Great taste of the bbq flavor and the sauce is incredible. Add a dash of their house made hot sauce (I'm not 100% sure but pretty sure they use scotch bonnet peppers in one of their sauces which is the only way to make hot sauce) and you've got an amazing Jamaican meal. Again, in the middle of land-locked Kansas. I was pretty stuffed after dinner (14.50 for all that food is an insanely good deal) so I ordered a second Rum Punch (what can I say, it was that good) and a slice of their daily house made dessert which today was a double chocolate rum cake slice or a carrot cake slice. I'm sure both are delicious but naturally I opted for the rum cake and have no doubt it'll be the perfect end to the day. I can say without certainty that I'm the only out of towner here. Everyone I see who walks inside knows the owner very well, and it's clear that the owner and her partner have amazing ties to the Manhattan community. But whether you're a local Kansan or passing through town for the university or on business, please make The Little Grill a stop. This is truly an unexpected gem in the heart of cattle country that seriously can't be missed.

The staff was friendly, the place was clean, they had live music playing. I definitely recommend driving out and trying this place. Also big shout out to our server, Eli, he's an incredible server and is half the reason we had such a great experience! We will definitely be back!
