my fiance and i pulled in to eat dinner about 8:00pm on a thursday. We backed in and were in the process of ending a conversation. As we sat there we watched a Longhorn employee walk out the front door to smoke. He had an apron on and looked like he was a cook, His apron was dirty, his shirt was visibly dirty and he had a cigarette in hand. His entire appearance was so disgusting and unappetizing we pulled out and got mcdonald's instead. If employees plan to plan to smoke and not wash their clothes while on the job the least they could do is go to the back where customers can't see them walking into the establishment. This was absolutely Disgusting!!!! My favorite Steakhouse, I love to eat there. I have NEVER been disappointed, have eaten there many, many times. Their food is exceptionally good. Any steak or chicken is good, but my most favorite to go with either of those is French Onion Soup and their Strawberry Salad (with pecans and raspberry vinaigrette. Got to town late and was so glad they were open. I ordered lightly breaded chicken tenders with macaroni and cheese and honey roasted Brussels sprouts. Oh my gosh it was delicious! My Brussel sprouts were light and crunchy and so flavorful. The chicken tenders were nice and moist and the Mac and cheese was quite flavorful. The place is nice enough, I come in and sit at the bar. I order the same thing everytime. 6oz sirloin, medium rare with mashed potatoes and which ever greens they have. Mostly it's broccoli. I've been here several times, but the last two or three times the steak has been cold. I get having to let the meat rest, but management, get it under a hot plate. We arrived at 10:00 pm on a Friday night with the restaurant closing at 11:00. The hostess was very unpleasant then seated us and threw the silverware on the table and knocked one roll of it in the floor and just walked away without picking it up or replacing it. We also ordered an item "to go" and even reminded the waiter of it but never got it even though he promised it was sitting in the kitchen staying warm. Safe. Easy. Simple. Relatively Affordable. To me that's the perfect way to describe a visit to pretty much any LongHorn location. Early afternoon on a cool overcast weekday equaled almost no one in their large parking lot and decent service due to our server only waiting on us the entire time we were there. Fried Pickles Steakhouse Burger (lunch combo w/potato soup) Sirlion Parmesan Crusted Chicken Grilled Chicken and Strawberry Salad The upsides to everything were that again because of how slow everything was our wait times were minimal. Water glasses were refilled near instantly, the food was very fast to hit the table and the steak was cooked perfectly as ordered. The downsides were that the first booth we were seated at was dirty which is beyond stupid when the hostess had 95% of the place to choose from yet chooses a booth with food all over the one bench seat. The vinaigrette for the salad is way too sweet especially when paring it with as much fruit that already comes on the salad and the potato soup had to have been microwaved hard because nothing should come out that hot that it was steaming ten minutes later even while constantly getting stirred. I guess I should write two separate reviews because one is about food, the other about responsibility on my part and theirs. We went to eat here for my son's 14th birthday, because we had come here many times in the past and he loved it. During dinner, I put my sunglasses to the side, as most of us do. The next hour to put on my sunglasses and realized I didn't have them and I remembered the last place I did, at the table at longhorn. The waitress took a picture for us, and in the photo you can see my sunglasses on the table up against the back wall. I went back up to the restaurant really expecting to just grab my sunglasses and be on my merry way, instead I was met with skepticism and no sunglasses. I asked the manager who cleans the tables and they told me that the hostess cleans the tables but the girls that were working the night before were not there today. I said well if your tables are really cleaned like they should be especially considering Covid protocols etc, then the girls should have come across my sunglasses and either pocketed them OR they didn't clean the table very well and I'm that case the next customers who sat there took them. The manager agreed got my phone number and told me that she would give me a call. Two weeks later, still no call no sunglasses. I'm left with disappointment. read more

This was a very special event for my daughter KaylI. She had just finished her graduation ceremony and we wanted to celebrate her achievement. And, this was her choice about where we were going to eat. After talking to the hostess, about seat arrangements, i asked to speak to the manager, Rick Pederson. I felt like my family and invited friends were treated like dirt. We asked for a table for 16, even in advanced. We waited approximately 30 minutes, which is not what I would usually do. They had just had a table open up that would have accommodated our group. But instead of cleaning the table and seating us, we were given a table that seated 8 and 2 booths that sat 4 each..... that were not even close enough to have a conversation and knowing me, a pastor, that was unacceptable. I would have waited or even helped them clean the table that would have accommodated our group. The manager came over and we were told.... this is what we've got, take it or leave it. WHAT??? It appeared that we were the only group there. I know there's a staff shortage ,but, just say that and I'm OK with that. Thank God, Olive Garden was next door, who ran around putting tables together and accommodated us very nicely and we had a great time. I must say, Olive Garden's staff were wonderful. I plan to put this every where I can to let Longhorn corporate office know what kind of manager Rick Pederson and how bad the service is at this restaurant.. This staff and especially Rick Pederson will hurt their business for sure. They didn't care about our measly little ~$350.00 + $70.00 in tips. Never the less, we had a great time together at Olive Garden, just upset at Longsteak Steakhouse who I'll (we locals) will never go back. Think twice...... I have no plans to!! Had lunch today at longhorn in Morehead city. Once leaving I notice I had left my wallet behind. I had only been gone 5 mins tops, and called them. Manager on duty stated he had received a brown wallet. Young lady at the hostess booth when I got back said she had found & turned into her Manager (one on Duty at 2pm/11/3. When she came back with it I was going to give her a 20 tips for turning in. When I opened my wallet it was short $100.00, only 45 was left in the wallet. We frequent this steakhouse with my grandmother several times a year, she loves their pork chops. We usually stop in for lunch on Saturday or Sunday around 11:30-12:30 and are promptly seated. The restaurant is more times than not.... dirty. Every time we have been there have been dirty tables that sit there for 30 minutes or the entire time we are there. The booth seats and tables are not cleaned from the previous party. The menus are often times sticky from food being dropped on them. The service is hit or miss, usually its worse when they are slow, I assume its easier for staff to hang out when they only have a table or two? The food, oh the same offerings as every other steakhouse out there, but no matter what I order... its bland. The ranch was very watery on our salad, the steak had no flavor but plenty of gristle throughout, the potatoes were not cooked and sparingly stuffed. Was expecting great service and awesome steak. Did not get both. Upon entering the establishment I was not greeted by the hostess. She literally stared and kept her mouth shut until I asked for seating. There must have been about eight total customers in the place. So it was not busy. Two things I got from such a greeting. When hostesses are not excited to see customers walk through their doors it's either because the food sucks and they feel bad for your life or because they don't care about having a job as a hostess. Once she started prepping the table I asked her for a booth. She never asked if I wanted a table or booth. In fact she made sure I knew she had to get our seating ready by announcing to me, "I will have to prepare the table for you." This should have been a tale tell sign of what's to come. Once we were switched over to a booth, I noticed a stench in the area. Not sure if someone had just barfed or hadn't showered and they left their scent on the seating area. Soon we were greeted by a very enthusiastic waitress. She got our drink orders after we realized they are not listed on the menu given to us. Thank goodness she knew from the top of her head the drinks her establishment served. We waited about 10 minutes or more to receive our drinks. By this time most of the ice had melted and the cup was sweating. We then ordered our appetizers and received them much sooner than when our drinks had come. The chili fries were loaded a bit too much with cumin. The fries seemed to be okay. The spicy chicken tasted great except it is enough for just one person. The bowl it came in was smaller than the palm of my hand. We placed our orders and I said a little prayer that the food will at least be made with quality in mind of the cook. What a disappointment. I ordered the 18 oz Rib eye. It tasted as though the grill needed some cleaning. It was dry (medium well), and just no love as you would expect from a steak house. The mashed potatoes tasted a bit old. Like it came from a bucket that was expired yesterday. The worst part of our meal was the broccoli served with my daughters sirloin steak meal. First her steak was sliced into big pieces. It looked like flank steak instead of sirloin and it was a bit bloody on one end. Her broccoli looked as though it was grilled with black spots all around the ends. Upon further inspection of the broccoli pieces unnoticed white mold in them. I asked the server if that looked good to him and if it was grilled and he said they steam the broccoli and if I had a problem he can always just get another side out. No apologies. He took my daughters plate and soon returned with her meal minus the broccoli. I honestly thought he would make a new plate of steak being that the mold off the broccoli was on the same plate as her steak. As we were eating the very enthusiastic waitress came by several times asking if we needed anything. By the second time she stopped at our table and asked if the food was alright, I told her about the moldy broccoli. She seemed enthusiastically surprised, saying out loud, oh my goodness no I did not know it had mold on it oh my goodness I'm so sorry. All I knew was they took out the broccoli. Tell me what kind of manager you must have. This place is probably run by the same mentality as Musashi's in Havelock. If Longhorn claims to serve American food, please put some American pride in your food and service. We deserve quality food for the price you label your food with. Disgusting and frustrating to have chosen to eat here. Don't come here. It won't be long until I find a place that has pride in their food. This is far from anything deserving of your time and money. The place is dusty. The decorations are dusty and they are right above the tables. The hats the boots and the vent in the ceiling full of dust. Manager needs to get their shit together.
