The overall experience was very nice but at the end, while we were wrapping up our dinner, seemingly a manager of sorts, Lisa (we overheard), had her phone on speaker while she talked to someone quite loudly on the phone. I came in on a Sunday early evening. I sat at the bar area and it was fairly empty. Service was slow at first but picked up towards the end. It was a long day for the bartender when I talked with her. I ordered a 6oz Texas Sirloin medium rare, mashed potatoes and broccoli. Now compared to other steakhouses this place in my opinion is a healthier option, they use a lot less salt and butter. This is what many of the reviews complained about. The steaks aren't covered in salt. However, at the same time I thought the steak cut was good and not rough or anything as some have pointed out. They may have gotten an unlucky batch. And same with the potatoes and broccoli. They aren't smothered in salt and butter Overall I enjoy the food and service here. This was my second time here. Steak was a 1/10. That should be all you need to see. It was cooked to the right temperature, but the flavor was ass. The best thing I had at this restaurant was the beer. I won't be back. They are competitively priced alongside Longhorn, but the food is no where near compatible. Burger was 6/10. Fish and chips 6/10. French fries were 6/10. Food was. Just right! Chicken tips, peppers and onions, broccoli and salad fit my diet perfectly. My husband's hot rolls out of oven , steak and baked potato were very good he said. From the time we hit the door, we were greeted immediately seated and the hostess was very pleasant. Our waitress Maggie was superb on top of everything including refilling drinks. The ambience was pleasant and comfortable similar to commercial chain steakhouses. The restaurant is kept very clean to include the restrooms. Food was great, When we finally got served. Couples and several tables came in 10 min after us, got their food and was almost done when we finally got ours. Waitress told manager how long we had been waiting, so Manager brought our food out. Not very apologetic, not even an offer of a discount. Don't listen to the bad reviews. This place is great!! We actually ended up ordering delivery two days in a row because the food is so good and affordable! First day we got the cheese fries, loaded sweet potatoes, and a blackened shrimp Caesar salad. Tonight we got the pic two NY strip and shrimp, shrimp platter and fried okra! I'm moving away from Morehead City in a day or two but wanted to give Sagebrush Steakhouse my "last meal" as the last couple times I came it's been pretty good for the price and the service is usually exceptional. That was not the case today though.. I made the mistake of getting the potato skins which is usually one of my favorite appetizers. Look at the photo and you will see that not only do the potato skins have a laughable amount of potato left on them, but the sides were so burnt that they were literally inedible. I could eat about half of the two that I did eat. The other photo is of the Buffalo tenders which honestly weren't too bad despite not looking the greatest. I have very bad social anxiety and I usually don't like to voice negative opinions to servers, especially like the one today who was somewhat rude and seemed very uninterested in being there, let alone checking in on me. I literally didn't even have a drink before my food got to the table, even though I had some hot buttery rolls sitting there wanting to be eaten the whole time. My drinks finally came and I did not see my waitress up until time for the check. Along with the check I asked if I could get a couple rolls to go. She said sure no problem. I pay for the meal, get the check back, then she comes and says I'm just waiting for the box of rolls to come out in a second! I say okay that's fine. 10 minutes more go by, I haven't even seen my waitress in the meantime. I ask another waitress who was very nice if she could check on it for me. She comes back a couple minutes later to say that I would have to wait around 10 minutes more for the rolls to come out of the oven if I wanted some. Yet, after my waitress had told me mine would be out in a second, I saw at least 4 or 5 orders of rolls go to tables afterward? At this point I needed to leave so i just left instead. Pretty disappointed I picked this spot as my last place to go out and eat before I left. Maybe if you come as a group you'll get treated a little better, but I felt coming as a single diner I was treated a lot more poorly. read more

Dined in on a Monday evening. Stood at the door for a minute till host came around. Only about 5 tables in restaurant around 6:30. My family of 4 was sat on top of a party of 6. It was very awkward due to the restaurant being quite and us within elbow knocking of the other table hearing all conversations. I even said to the host a empty restaurant and we are on top of this table. She ignored me and walked away. Anyways ordered a Margarita it was the worst ive ever had! The dinner meal was even worse. I ordered some food through DoorDash and only half of it arrived. I contacted the restaurant letting them know I'd been compensated through door dash and reordered the remainder of my missing meal. Went there tonight (8/21/2021) & ordered the chips with queso for an appetizer. When it was brought to the table, the chips were stale & the queso was scortched. Tammy, the waitress took it back & stated the kitchen was fixing some new. That's fine & well, but why would you serve that to customers that way to begin with? After that, I had to find Tammy to get more tea as she only came to the table twice in the 2 hours we were there.
