Yes, you will pay a bit more but it's worth it for us. Dr. Ryczek is also very responsive to texts and emails which is helpful. We can send photos or videos to help diagnose issues that don't require a visit. She is patient and takes her time. I don't know what we'd do without her.

She never called for my dog to be picked up, left her somewhere (she would only say that she was safe when I asked where she was) and after leaving many messages and making some very real threats she finally had her remains picked up - this was after two weeks - and us not knowing what happened. She should never be trusted with such an important role - ending a pet's life is hard enough - but not know what happened to her was hell. Thanks to the wonderful people at Inserv, where my girl was cremated, they brought dignity back to her passing.

After reviewing my dog's information, including her anxiety medication and use of a muzzle during vet visits, a staff member called me on June 4 and reassured me multiple times that Dakin could accommodate her. I specifically asked whether they had space for her and whether her anxiety would be an issue, and I was told they would work with her and that euthanasia would not be necessary based on her file. They even made a special exception to schedule the surrender on Saturday, June 6. After my best friend drove my dog and I two hours to the facility, the staff member Lauren is who we met & She immediately focused on my dog's muzzle and informed me that if I surrendered her, she WOULD be euthanized because a "dog requiring a muzzle and medication for vet visits would not do well in this kind of environment." She stated that whoever had previously approved the surrender should have informed me of this sooner. When I asked if we could be present if euthanasia occurred, I was told no and was also told her body would not be released to me for cremation. She also mentioned that they call muzzles "party hats" so it seems to me that they do utilize muzzles at their facility. Throughout the interaction, my dog remained calm, approached Lauren willingly, and showed friendly interest despite being anxious. Lauren refused to interact with my dog. Feeling misled after receiving repeated assurances that Dakin could help her, I chose not to surrender my dog and told Lauren to go F herself & that they could all go F themselves. I believe Dakin has behavioral standards even though I was given multiple reassurances over several days, had my best friend drive my dog and I two hours based on those assurances, and then received completely different information upon arrival. After getting home I read more reviews of this place and they have MULTIPLE stating that they're KILLING and turning away animals because they don't fit their adoption standards.

The vet had us sign something saying we refused treatment since she, again very coldly, said that the cat was likely to die at home. After a few days of baby food, Miralax, and care at home, the cat is completely back to normal and doing great. Had the vet actually had a kinder, more caring demeanor, we may have made the mistake of listening to her advice. Thankfully it was clear from our interaction that she has no business being in this profession and we ignored her and left. Advise you to seek care literally anywhere else.

The bid prior to surgery was shocking, $1200-1500!!! ( Keep in mind, this was for one baby tooth). I went against my better judgement and decided to go forward and have the one tooth removed (BIG mistake). When dropping her off, we repeatedly asked to be called if something changed. They called us and told us she was fine. The baby tooth had come out on its own! They had cleaned her teeth ( Really,?!?!, a 15 month old dog needs a cleaning?!?!?!?) When we picked her up, we were given a bill for over $750.00 and told, they had to put her under anesthesia ($ 250 of the the total bill) because she wouldn't let them look in her mouth........ In addition, we told them we did NOT ask for a dental cleaning. ($175.) This represented $425.00 of the $750 bill!! Despite trying to work things out with them, our conversation went on deaf ears and we paid decided to the bill and leave. Buyers beware! I will NEVER go back there again! If they had called as we asked, we would have told them to do NOTHING and picked her up. They were, unwilling to compromise and very over priced! Go somewhere else!

Goose is not the calmest dog to work with, but they never made us feel uncomfortable about this reality. Cost was similar to what I have paid at VESH, Tufts and Pieper Memorial for emergency or specialty vet care over the years. I appreciated Dr M's feedback on how we can best help Goose to adjust to her aging body as comfortably as possible. The only thing I would change is that I would love to see an exotic vet become available, in case we need emergency services for our rabbits (driving to Tufts or Pieper is always stressful as it is so far away when needing urgent care). Upon check-in, they were able to see Artichoke within two minutes of us getting there. They did his vitals in back and then moved my boyfriend and I from the waiting area/lobby to a separate room where the vet could speak with us. The vet was kind when speaking with us, and even when discussing the potential worst outcomes of what needed to happen, she spoke calmly which definitely helped us both with our nerves. The clinic offered a few different options of how they could remove the item and what payments would look like. They also offer payment plans for those who may need one. In total, we arrived around 10:40P and were out by midnight. Pretty quick turn around and honestly, the price wasn't that bad either. Our cat was a little stubborn so they had to double dose him with the steroid to induce his vomiting, but even with that and the walk-in emergency vet fee, it was all under $300. While I hope that we will never need to come back here, they will always be my first call should we need it!

Then she was paid $50 upfront to store her body until spring when I could bury her. I went to get her body and it had thawed and started rotting right through the blanket and bag, and the stench was horrible. This vet cares nothing about you, your pet, or it's life, and is a money grubbing, cruel, and evil person. The good reviews are her nutcase daughters and girl friends. Reading posts about her "treating my dog with respect" tells you it's obviously a fake review. The truth is in the bad reviews, not in phony positive ones.
