Time for a cake (tart?) review at Longo's. This longos can get really busy and while there's almost always parking, it can get hectic there so be careful. On this occasion, we got their fruit tart as a "birthday cake" for family. The service was good and we were in and out pretty quickly. The tart is topped with fresh and sweet blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. The fruit adds a nice tastiness against the sweet custard. The tart crust itself has a great flavor and texture as well. It's a pretty decent size for a great tart at under 30$. Definitely recommend it as a dessert. read more

The parking lot is a mess always congested but once you park there is so many stores you can quickly pick up stuff one after another. This store has friendly staff and great selection. Summer time they have a small garden centre on the right side of the store outside selling flowers, veggies and herbs. Good prices if you catch a sale. They also sell manure, soil at great prices but they often run out of stock read more

I have been a loyal customer since Longo's opened this store and it had a large great range of high quality (on a par with Pusateri's) fresh produce up until it was bought by Empire Food in 2021. Since then, the quality has significantly declined (I now have to rummage through mostly 2nd rate fresh fruit and vegetables to find unblemished goods), along with a poorer of products available. Also now there is a lack of smaller sized packaged products. For example, orange juice is now only stocked in 1.5L bottles, similarly cottage cheese is no longer stocked in 250ml containers. Many fresh vegetables are only found in pre packaged bags, and l recently discovered the bakery has discontinued stocking Duflett's and La Rocca cakes. Noticeable cutbacks of staff have resulted in longer, slower lines at checkout. Please understand this store is in a very prosperous neighbourhood where customers can afford, and will pay, for top quality. I am very disappointed. I have been ordering turkey from Longos as long as they opened in our area at York Mills and Leslie and I have always gotten complementary cranberry sauce and gravy with my turkey. This year I noticed that they hasn't been any in my package and when I asked about it and explained to them that I have always gotten these two items with my turkey, they very rudely told me that there have never been the case. I am extremely disappointed with the way that they handled the situation and told me that next time I should order the whole package to get these items with. I have never expected this type of service with them and this will be the last time that I will order my turkey from them. read more

I often go here to get groceries and this place got some freshest produce and fruits than Metro and its competitors, in my honest opinion. Lots of organic products. It is definitely a cut above the rest with great variety and selection. Good to see this place is offering beers. When LCBO (next door) closes at 9 pm, go here to get your booze. This supermarket is well lit and spacious aisles which makes it a great shopping experience. Not to mention they've got Starbucks, Sushi station, Pizza and food station. Staff here are very friendly and professional. Big thumbs up! Parking is a disaster on the weekend. Frustrating! Avoid weekends if you have to. My husband and I came here after work to meet up with someone. While we were waiting my husband picked up 2 pizza slices. One had roasted chicken, grape tomatoes, spinach and mozzarella cheese. This was good but needed some extra spices or salt to boost the flavor. The second pizza had roasted sweet onions, fire roasted tomatoes and fresh mozzarella on top. This had a little more flavor than the first one but all in all still pretty good. I didn't know Longo's had a ready made food area like that in this location. They have a pretty good selection with different kids of flavors. I'll be back to try other foods there soon read more

Longo's York Mills Gardens, is close to me, so I use it, but I Always prefer the Leaside store, for a few reasons: 1) York Mills does not have the smaller shopping carts, which are really needed, due to the lack of space there (it's only half the size of Leaside). It is cramped (even without customers in the mix), so imagine how awkward these big carts are to get around and manoeuvre when it's busy. 2) The staff behind the 'hot table' foods Are aloof (as are some of the bakery staff) and are obviously not happy speaking to customers. This Saturday, I made a special trip to get one of their "raised without..." roast chickens, but I rememberd that the last one we bought, my daughter asked why it tasted hot and peppery. They skin and the legs were burned. I blamed it on too much added spices, which burn fast in those hot ovens). So, yesterday, when I saw that each and every one of these chickens were burned, asked the staff behind the counter why? (Staff were reluctant to even acknowledge me). I was told "it's because it's the 'raised without" variety, then was told to take my complaint to the service desk . Equally, the Service desk had this apprehensive response to my request to speak to a manager, with the usual 'can you tell me why?" When a young woman showed up, at the other end of the counter, this same person who called, felt it necessary to fill her in on what it was all about. Hello, I thought, I am over here and can see you. She came over, heard the concern from me, about the burnt chicken. She said, "you are the only who has complained about this." She went on to say that their staff "do not season the chicken, it comes that way, already seasoned." Then, I asked if one of the Longo's brothers were around....she said, "maybe at Leaside!" No, sorry, no thank you for bringing this to our attention. I told her to keep the chicken at the service desk counter at York Mills, And that they could have the nice box of the Italian Amaretti pistachio, soft cookies on the counter too, which I really like - I just did not want to give this store my custom, after That disappointing response to my complaint. I actually did go over to Leaside, a 15 min. drive and....guess what? They had the same chickens, and None of them were roasted to death! For those of us who know the meaning of 'customer service' it is easy to tell that these so-called managers (who cannot make executive decisions), more importantly have either never been trained in the art of attending to customer's needs or dealing with the public. P.S.: Leaside is a big step-up from York Mills! They have the smaller shopping carts, which are perfect for shorter people, or those who are doing a small shop. It s the best location. This is my Longo's, bitches! This Longo's is on my way home from work. I was going to have to start eating dust bunnies if I didn't get some groceries tonight. I love how this Longo's has a civilized parking lot (has one way signs to keep the traffic flowing in front of the store), and civilized customers. Never have I had to give someone the stink eye or call them a friendly name under my breath. That is right people - no pushy cart people wanting to run you down. Plus, the staff here - hello - they rock! I have had the cart chaser staff come and take my cart from me after I loaded up my car. Plus every cashier I have had the pleasure of chatting with is super friendly. Now...back to the reason why I go here - to stock up y'all!! Tonight...oh tonight...a night that will live in my mind forever....Longo's had...get this....20 muther-flocking different kinds of apples! Yes, 20. I stood in the apple aisle and rubbed my eyes. Had Christmas come early for Shari?! Oh yes it had!! Decisions, decisions, decisions. As much as I wanted to knock a few to the ground and roll around in my own apple land (yes there would be oompa loompas there to sing and dance), I held my composure and decided on purchasing some honey crisp apples. What made me decide? Honestly, they all looked good, but the princess in me liked them the best because they were the shiniest. I know - how a true foodie should shop. Longo's has the best selection of fruits and vegs for a regular grocery store. If you want better produce - go to St. Lawrence Market or Whole Foods. If you need to buy shit-tickets, milk and fruit - this is your place. Another thing that I love about Longo's is their trays you can order. A couple of month's ago I ordered a huge fruit tray for a bridal shower. It was such a hit at the party. When I picked it up from Longo's...oh yes....there was an offer to help me carry it to my car! I was surprised and thrilled by the offer, but I was good to carry the fruit solo. I think this will be a review that I update regularly...I do love this store! Oh - I almost forgot!!!! Because I have a Longo's points card, I got a free reusable grocery bag today! Wow! If you want to purchase good reusable grocery bags, Longo's has insulated ones that you can zip up. I audit grocery stores as my side job and I have to say that this Longo's definitely sticks out whilst doing my audits. They have lots of clerks working and constantly shelving and lining up products and they are really helpful and leave their aisle when the have to assist customers find stuff. I am especially impressed with the variety of health foods they have at this Longo's. Their fruits and vegetable section is amazing, they have the organic versions of practically everything, they have everything, even the rare stuff like fiddle sticks, orkas, white asparagus and yellow tomatoes. I went just a few days ago (beginning of summer) and none of the other grocery stores have this stuff out right now. It all looks fresh too. I also saw a huge variety of ice cream products including a handful of soya milk ice cream products. I am also impressed with the variety of fresh meats from veal to freshly made sausages. I like Longo's, I come here every now and then. It is a little out of the way for me and living beside a Loblaw's especially makes it less convenient for me or maybe lazy? Anyway... The parking lot is always busy, it's like a race for who can park and get in the store first, should also be careful of the crazy drivers, they will come at you every which way! They usually have a good selection of fruits and veggies and a pretty decent meat section. Although I do find their meat to be a bit overpriced for what it is... There is usually never a line to leave, so it makes it a good place to stop and pick up whatever items you need and go without having to wait all night. Sometimes you can find good things on the clearance rack as well! Keep your eyes on the lookout for a good steal! read more

Produce is always fresh and very clean! I order to shop here and spend a few more dollars on quality however it is pricy. Their hot food selection is great and nice to take home instead of cooking once and a while. Also not cheap but it is all "home made" with no additives. The matzo ball soup is pretty close to moms and great for these cold days at work. The Starbucks inside is a great addition however they are still training the staff and they have messed up my drinks once and a while but we are all human! read more

I don't live particularly close to this Longo's but I do make a point of visiting every time I'm in the vicinity. First of all the store is huge and offer a great variety of almost anything you make be looking for (though they don't carry matches!!). Second the produce and meats are consistently fresh and everything seems to be appropriately stocked (I.e. store obvs has good management). Finally, I actually like the options at the food counter here! The stuffed pizza is recommended! read more

I like shopping here.. clean, produce is very fresh, usually have what I need in stock. I find the cashiers friendly and helpful. I also order catering, and have been happy with that. The one thing I am not happy with, and will mention, as it has happened several times, if the meat-deli counter. There will be 2 -3 ladies back there, and they pretty much ignore you.. you have to often ask for service. If one lady is serving someone, the other two will avoid making eye contact, while they do other things behind the counter, rather than serve you (even if there are a few people waiting). I have had this happen 5+ times. I have mentioned in the longos surveys, but never get any response. The cheese counter lady is somewhat similar - if she is ever behind the counter (resistant to answering questions / helping). I guess they report to the same manager, which would explain it! This is hands-down my favorite local grocery - they stock everything we need for my gluten-free diet, with an abundance of local produce at very reasonable prices. People here think it's expensive, however, I do find it consistently cheaper than Metro, which in my opinion, is a frustrating place to shop, with an unreliable produce selection and a weird penchant for bulk sizing. I'm sure it would be cheaper to shop at Superstore or Food Basics, but to me it's with a few bucks to support a store that obviously has good management and a commitment to healthy food. Not only does the local stuff (esp. apples and squash!) taste and look better, but it's nice to be able to support local agriculture with ease. Not only do we find all that we need here, but often we see something that inspires us to try something new. We appreciate these little touches that make the store feel good and come at very little extra cost to us. read more

A grossly overweight man sitting directly across from me immediately assailed me and launched a long lecture about how I was 'draining' the electrical system. I felt it best not to say anything, even though a 15 volt computer draws far less than an oven light. After lecturing me for about 5 minutes the fat man glared at me until I left. I was minding my own business and don't deserve a brow beating from some loud and disgusting slob for no reason. This Longos at York Mills and Leslie has the BEST service of any I have been to. Yes, it has great produce and everything is fresh. But many markets can say that. What stands out in my personal experience is the service. Here are a few examples: 1. It was raining one day and there was staff member walking customers to their cars with an umbrella!!! Kept me dry and I was blown away. Who does that? Kudos! 2. Requesting a product I did not see on shelf. In this case wasabi cashews. Spoke with someone and it was there within 2 weeks. 3. Family friendly activities - drawing contest and activities for kids everyone once in a while. My daughter loves it even when she doesn't win. With the new renovations/updates the store now looks beautiful. It is a pleasure to shop there. My one complaint - which is not Longo's fault, well maybe it is because it is such a popular supermarket, is the parking lot. It is always full and drivers are not very considerate, racing for an empty spot. read more

me love longo's long time. came in 5 minutes before closing. employees were just as helpful as ever. despite the day-end mad cleanup routine, i was asked by 2 employees if i needed any help. one kind employee lifted some awkward cases of sparkling water into my cart for me and spared me the inevitable following-day screaming from my back. and, another kind employee walked me and my cart out so he could load the sparkling water cases into my car for me. it was raining, and without having to be asked, he retrieved an umbrella from the office to shield me from the downpour. i've never had such royal treatment from any grocery store. i'm tempted to say that the sometimes 30% markup at longo's is almost worth it to receive this red carpet treatment. i guess sometimes it's true: you get what you pay for. read more

This is a great supermarket. The quality of fruits and fresh groceries is unsurpassed. What I like most however is their onsite bakery. I buy my fresh sour dough bread almost daily from Longo's bakery. I get it sliced to my preference and it's always fresh. read more

Stopped at this Longos location on the way back from Toronto...disappointed in the deli meat selection - so few choices...however, when we got home, and my husband opened his package of his favorite walnut pieces, they were rancid. The cost of gas to go from Port Credit to this Longos location is not worth the cost - which was excessive at $6.95....will not be back....in addition - could not pick any fruit that was anywhere close to being edible. I just finished shopping at Longos and the cashier was so helpful, that when she asked me if I was able to find everything I needed and answered no, she actually left her register and got the product that I was unable to find.
