I want to thank RD for his concern in helping me solve a problem regarding a bed frame I bought online from another business that doesn't have a local store. It wouldn't align with a headboard I was keeping. From RD's opening response to my problem, it was obvious his main concern was helping me find a fix for the problem and not just making a sale of another bed frame and also a different headboard. I really appreciated that. I was shown some options but there was no effort to rush me into a purchase. I was urged to go home, measure, and send photos to him showing the areas that were causing problems. At one point I needed to talk to the owner of Long's but definitely not due to RD who was nothing but patient, kind, and helpful. Delivery and set up went smoothly. I believe RD works at the Noblesville location most of the time instead of the Castleton location. It will be worth your time to get him as your sales person. read more

We went in for a queen-sized mattress to replace our old one, which wasn't that old but was a piece of junk. I really dislike buying expensive things, only to have to buy that same expensive thing again soon after, which is why we shopped around a bit before landing at Long's Mattress. I wanted to buy a mattress that would last a long time. From the get-go, the sales person was hands off and let us try the different mattresses without pressuring us toward any particular one, or upselling us on anything. When we asked for his opinion, he was honest, and honestly, our whole mattress buying experience was very simple and stress-free. The prices were great too -- we paid way less than we had budgeted for, and we got the mattress that we wanted. We were in and out in about 30 minutes. They delivered our new mattress in a little over a week, and we have been satisfied ever since. It's been a little over a year since we got the mattress -- I wanted to wait a while before I left a review just in case. But I have nothing but great things to say about Long's Mattress. I'm hoping we don't have to replace our mattress for a while, but when we do, I'll definitely get one from here again. read more

If I came here first, I would have thought the service was pretty good. However, we tried a different mattress store first, and the difference was night and day. The service person at Long's answered every question asked, but was not proactive at assessing our needs. It is amazing how much goes into finding a good mattress, and had we not been somewhere else first, we would not have even known what to ask. That said, if you know exactly what you want, and you want to save a bundle, this is the place for you. Long's has been in business for 25 years and they sell only Bowles mattresses. Bowles is an Indiana company that has been in business even longer than Long's. It was hard to fully assess the quality in the 30 minutes we were there, but the mattresses seem at first blush to be at or only slightly below the quality of a Sealy or some other name brands. And the cost was around $500 less than comparable name brand mattresses. We are still on the fence about which mattress to buy. I saw the TV ads for Long's mattresses and desparately needed a new mattress, so I went to the Castleton store and was waited on right away. Richie asked a lot of good questions and then showed me several mattresses he thought would fill my needs and be within my budget. They seemed very comfortable and I made my decision and we set a delivery date. The guys that delivered the mattress were very polite and had my new mattress in place and my old one taken away in minutes. The whole processes was flawless! I waited a couple of weeks so I could have time to enjoy my new mattress and decide if it was the right decision. I have had problems with hip and back pain with my old mattress, and I'm thrilled to say I barely notice any since replacing my mattress. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend Long's to everyone! read more

This is on the SE corner of 82nd and Allisonville Rd., in the same shopping strip as Thai Taste and Penzeys Spices. Their radio ads for Bowles mattresses, bowlesmattress.com, got me in the door. Their ad says that a) Bowles is an Indiana manufacturer, and b) since Bowles doesn't have any national ad campaigns, you're paying for the matress, not the ads. At first I thought that was just a come-on, and I was expecting to pay $50 to $100 more for an Indiana-made mattress at a furniture store that wasn't a discount store (as opposed to a Serta brand mattress at Big Lots). However, after actually checking out the Serta mattresses at Big Lots, I ended up spending no more on an equivalent quality Bowles. Plus Long's has delivery (and removal), whereas with Big Lots I would have had to borrow a friend's truck, and done the ugly thing of leaving the old foundation sticking out of the dumpster. The store manager, Terry, was not pushy; there was no pressure; and he treated me the way I wanted to be treated as a customer. I left and compared the Serta mattresses, and came back here and bought a mattress and foundation. The store headquarters called me the next day to schedule delivery, and the guys in the truck were there when they said they'd be. They deliver on Saturdays too. Delivery guys were polite. Compare things like number of coils, thickness of foam on top of the coils, and whether the mattress has foam on the sides covering the coils. Bowles comes with a 10 year non-pro-rated warranty. My old mattress was past due to be replaced, and I knew I didn't want a cheap motel quality mattress (a la Motel 6 or Super 8). So I knew that price wasn't going to be the only factor, but I still want value for what I do spend. So, I think their radio ad about Bowles may be correct. The display mattresses at this store go up to the $1500 (per set) range. Bowles makes even less expensive mattresses that the store can order from the factory if Long's doesn't stock it. If you want a lower cost one than what they have here check out the Bowles web site, or drive down to Long's Franklin store to see the lesser expensive ones. They even sent me a thank-you post card in the mail after a few days. Nice touch. read more

After trying some other mattress stores in the area, and not being impressed with the quality and prices of the big name mattresses, we stopped by Long's to see how Bowles mattresses compared. We were under the assumption that a locally made mattress from a small company would not be in our budget. However, when we checked the prices at Long's the mattresses were cheaper, as well as higher quality. We knew pretty much what we were looking for when we went into Long's (a latex/memory foam mattress), so we didn't have too many questions for the salesman. The questions we did have he was able to answer. They only deliver twice a week, so we did have to wait about a week longer than we would have at a big name store for our mattress to come in. But when you're buying something for 8-10 years a week doesn't make too big of a difference. The delivery men were polite and courteous. It's only been three months, but the mattress is doing great. read more

It seemed like we saved, but the mattress we picked was local and very comfortable. A photo in the store shows all the employees at the factory (20 or so) and the owners. I went in to get a mattress for a guest room bed. They had a great selection and Ray was helpful in selecting an appropriate mattress. The mattress was delivered as expected and the delivery people were great. My dad has used the mattress on a visit and says it feels wonderful. We had already checked out other stores when visiting Long's in Castleton in January 2017. The commercials indicating local ownership/manufacture drew us in. We were seeking a high end product that would last many years, and there were numerous options. The sales rep answered all questions, but did not pressure toward any specific choice. Delivery was even more impressive, as Long's uses employees rather than contractors. They informed me that I didn't need the support I purchased with my platform bed, took them back on the truck and I was refunded that portion same day without even calling or asking. We have slept on the mattress for 5 months now, and I have never previously experienced such comfort in sleeping. I travel frequently for work, and can't wait to get back to my own bed. It is a plus to be able to support a local company when their product and service merit. read more

We recently bought a Bowles mattress from Long's. The experience was completely positive. The salesman, Adam, was friendly and informative. In spite of a power outage that took out the whole strip mall, Adam was able to help us complete the transaction manually.....important since we were in a time crunch to get the mattress! The delivery fellows were extremely professional and careful with walls and furniture. And best of all, the mattress is more comfortable than all the high-priced Tempur-Pedics and Serta I-Comforts we have paid 4X as much for! We highly recommend Long's! read more

We were very impressed with this store. After visiting several other mattress stores, we got a great deal on the most comfortable mattress we tried. The sales representative was very up-front and honest, giving us the best deal he could. We also felt more at ease purchasing from a local store instead of nation-wide chain. Long's want to be sure that we love the mattress purchased and have a period of time that we are able to try out the mattress and exchange if needed. My wife and I went to Longs Mattress to try out some different bedding for our new home. (The one we had gave us back and neck problems.) On the first day we went,Sue Kriech helped us learn about the different kinds of foams they use in their beds. She helped us decide which mattress would be best for us based on our sleeping patterns. Sue was super friendly and gave us a lot of great information. My wife and I left there thinking we might be able to find a better deal online for the mattress we wanted, but it ended up being nearly the same price and potential not the same quality. We went back to Longs again and Sue happen to be working and she actually got us nearly 30% off the reduced price online. So we bought it that day! We were amazed at the level of customer service we received and quality we got. Never thought buying a mattress could be so great. read more

After searching a bit for a mattress we thought we found our perfect fit. The mattress was SO MUCH more comfortable than other name brands that were twice as expensive. Unfortunately that only lasted two months. 8 weeks in and the mattress sinks where my husband and I sleep. I sent to back twice for repair under warranty but it didn't help. We are not overweight and take good care- there is no reason this mattress shouldn't last at least 8 years. We purchased 4 years ago and it's now gotten to the point we need a new mattress. The middle of the mattress is still perfect. It is so comfortable and reminds me why we bought it. Unfortunately the dip is significant enough that I roll off after falling asleep. My neck and back are sore. I'd reach out to the store but they seem irritated when I sent back a second time. Guess we're back to the name brands. Unfortunately this seems to be a case of 'you get what you pay for'. Very disappointing. read more

The only reason I can even give Long's Mattress 1 star is due to the customer service I received when I was searching for a mattress to replace my worn out foam mattress. The Bowles mattress I bought was supposedly foam spring coiled and at the bottom of the firmness scale from what they offered in this mid-priced range line ( I don't like firm beds so I thought this was a good option and I wanted a mid-priced range mattress for good quality). I realize I didn't replace my foam mattress with another, but I was hoping the Bowles mattress would conform to my body somewhat since it had foam covered springs. What I got was a hard mattress with springs inside that you can actually feel through the top (It actually feels like I am sleeping on an old mattress that desparately needs to be replaced). I haven't had a good night sleep since I bought this mattress ONLY 2 months ago. In fact, most nights I wake up throughout the night from either shooting lower back pain or numbness in my legs and side. The nightmare isn't even over yet because I am often left with dibilitating back pain in the morning. This mattress was the biggest waste of my money and now I will have to buy a new mattress somewhere else if I ever hope to have pain-free sleeping and no back pain the next day. I could not conscionably recommend Long's Matress to anybody whom is purchasing a mattress. read more
