SEPTEMBER 2022 27 The drivers seat on the VW is cracking again. I had them replace the upholstery on it in 2020. I thought it would last longer than 2 years. At the time, my car was 19 years old, so it lasted 19 years. I brought VW over. Gary said he'll see what he can do. He'll call me in a few weeks. JANUARY 2023 3 He never called, so I called to follow up. Gary advised me to send him photos of the type/color of leather that was used. 5 I called to follow up. I was told Gary is on vacation & will be back on Monday. 13 I called to follow up. I was told Gary was out to lunch. 17 I called, since he never does. Gary advised he received the photos. I asked if today would be a good day to come by. He said No, that he needs to look around his shop to see if he has any material. If not, he'll get some. I said I don't like driving in the rain. I'll call back on a day that it's not raining. 20 I called to see if today would be a good day to come by. His secretary(Mom) said Gary wasn't in. She said he'll come in later after he does some things. Then, she said he'll be backed up & No, it wouldn't be good to come in. I asked for him to call me when he comes in. She says he has my number. 31 I called & told Gary I'd like to come by today & get my seat repaired. It's been over 4 months since you've seen the defective repair & it's gotten a lot worse. He said he's trying to work with me & said that no repair that he does has a lifetime guarantee. (It's only been 2 years.) He said I have to make an appointment on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I said this is the first time you said that I have to make an appointment. He replied like that didn't matter & said that I said I don't like driving in the rain. (He rembered that.) He said this coming up Tuesday will be good. I said I need to take my Mom to the doctor on that day. He said to call him back next week, when there's a weather prediction for the 2nd Tuesday or Wednesday in February. FEBRUARY 2023 6 Gary said he'll be back from lunch by 12:30pm. I made an appointment for 12:30pm/14Feb. He said that will be good. 14 I got to my appointment at 12:30pm. Gary said he thought I was coming earlier, & that he has a dentist appointment at 2pm. He said he doesn't know if he can get to it before he leaves. He took my car back & I'll see what happens.... He got it done. 15 WTH! I noticed the stitching/seam is not inline with the passenger seat. 16 9am...I called. I asked to speak to Gary. The Mom said he went to the bank. She asked is there something wrong with the work that was done? I told her about the seams not lining up. She said it sounds like I am hard to please. I said I just want it done right. 1pm...I called again & was told Gary is out with Tim picking up furniture. She said today & tomorrow are busy days. 3pm...I called again & Gary said he worked on replacing the seat cover at the goodness of his heart. He said he looked at the receipt & it was nearly 3 years old & nobody gives a warranty for 3 years & he's not going to work on it anymore & hung up. read more

I had Tim Long re-upholster two vintage/modern metal on black leather chairs. I had picked them up at a garage sale and they were in horrible shape. Tim picked them up on a Friday, ordered the new leather, padded the cushions, braced the seat, and upholstered them. They are amazing!! Tim said he would have them back to me in 2 weeks, and they were at my door exactly 2 weeks later. I have put them in my office and on the first day received over 20 compliments on them. This place has a nice web site and clearly they advertise a variety of services. One of those is seat cushion refilling. We went there and had a horrible experience with the lady who works the front. When we explained what we were there for the lady actually rolled her eyes as if we were bothering her with his request. We had done research on the firmness we wanted and she proceeded to say that was wrong in a very condescending tone. She took a phone call in the middle of our conversation and never came back to us. I would never recommend this shop as they do not want new business and have 0 customer service skills. read more

Took my headliner there. Told them to do a good job, I would pay top dollar. 2 weeks later, I come back and my headliner is still in the pile. Ok. 2 more weeks go by, same story. To cut to the chase, 6 weeks later I finally got it after stopping by 3 times. Maybe that's industry standard? When I received my headliner, it looked like absolute crap. The material was stretched over the safety handle hubs where they retract to when not in use on the headliner. It was supposed to be glued to the headliner board to yield a resting space to the handle. The corners had folds and crevices. Edging on the perimeter looked like it was tailored by a chainsaw. When I told the older fella working there about the quality, he began repeatedly telling me that it was best a shop could do because factory has these huge irons that just press it in perfect. A human cant do that. I had it redone at Gotcha Covered and they did a superior job. I have pics of both if anyone wants to accuse me of lying, along with second opinion letters. read more

What an Amazing Job!!! I had a large sofa recovered with the throw pillows and they finished in 5 days. Tim let us know that they would take a few days off over July 4th so if he picked it up early he could possibly get it back in 2 weeks. He finished it in 5 days but really 4 days because he picked it up on Monday and returned it Friday morning. They did beautiful work and re-stuffed our back cushions. It looks brand new. I will definitely use them again and really appreciate their incredible customer service. read more

I brought in some pieces from my car that needed to be reupholstered. The older guy, Greg?, said he could do it and we picked out a fabric. He said he would call in a few weeks. Two months later, after I did not hear from him, I stopped by. He had not even started and said he would do it that week. I waited another month and dropped in. He still had not started! He said he was busy. I toll my parts back and will find a more reliable person. If he did not want the small job, why did he tell me he would do it? read more

Great experience with this family owned business. I initially visited before Thanksgiving and Tim was very honest in setting proper expectations because it was a busy time for them. However, he promised if I came after Thanksgiving he could have chairs completed in a week. I literally dropped my chairs off this Tuesday right before closing and received a call Friday (yesterday) afternoon my chairs were ready! Not only did he complete the project in 3 days and was courteous to deliver...my chairs look absolutely stunning. Their price was extremely reasonable. Fabulous experience with this family owned business. They had a great selection of fabrics to choose from. Picked up my Mom's 25-year-old sofa on a Monday, and it was finished by Thursday. When it was delivered on Friday morning, I would have sworn it was a brand new modern sofa. Excellent work at a reasonable price and in a very short time frame. If I had bought the same brand name sofa new, the cost would have been over $3,000. Now, I have a beautifully well-made piece of furniture that will last me for years at more than half the price. I believe customer service is key to running a business. I contacted the shop several months ago about having 2 sofas recovered, and Tim was amazing on the phone. We decided to wait to do the project since we were in the process of building a home. About 3 weeks ago I contacted them again to get on their schedule. The person who answered the phone was short with me and said that our sofas would be put on the calendar for the end of the month. No other instruction as far as dropping off, picking out fabric, etc. My husband and I called around and found someone else to do the project quicker, so I called to have us removed from the calendar. The person who answered the phone was not very nice, saying that I should have called earlier and then hung up on me. Unprofessional. I understand this is a family-owned and run business, and I wish had the opportunity to work with them later, but I will not be calling them for any future projects because I don't appreciate being hung up on. I went around Roswell and Alpharetta asking around for a recommendation to get my interior in my car repaired. I was told that Mr. Long and Long's Upholstery was the place to go. I went there and showed Mr. Long what kind of work that needed to be done. Thankfully he had the exact interior patch for my vehicle. He told me the price and how long it'd take. It took me about 2 months to come back to get it done because I had to come and get it done on my next off day. I came back to get it done on my off day during the week and Mr. and Mrs. Long were both courteous and the work was done in a timely fashion. I'd definitely go back here again! Called Longs today and the phone was answered by an older woman. I wanted to speak with someone about a car seat bottom job. Very simple, I even have the parts. The woman said you need to speak to Gary. I said, may I please speak with Gary. "Hes not here" "Call Back". Can I please leave a message I said. "No, hes too busy to return calls". "You need to call back" I guess they are too busy to get new business I explained to her. Wow.
