I had a wonderful experience with Chong's! Jimmy was wonderful. I had a family member that was supposed to drop them off but last minute canceled, so Chong's came the same day to pick up my chairs. They looked fantastic and the workmanship was great! Prices were the best in town and the only negative was I had to wait 5 weeks. we had a large sofa reupholstered last year and we were delighted with the attentiveness of the the owners. the result of their work on the sofa was expert. so much so that we brought in 6 dining room chairs. I heard good things via reviews (not sure if there genuine or not) but when I called in to get a quote, the lady didn't really wanna help me. I sent them pictures and everything via email and was promised a callback that day or the next, which never happened. It's a shame because I was looking forward to doing business with them. It's unprofessional to make promises you can't keep. And it shows a lack of respect for your potential clients time. I'll be going with another local company at this time. Hopefully they respect my time and show some professionalism Ps. I had Chong's Upholstery recover two cushions from a morris chair. I supplied the fabric and cushions, they did the recover with piping. I could not be more pleased with the whole experience. The work was promised within one or two weeks. They finished in less than one week, the price was excellent, as was the workmanship. The fabric had a distinctive pattern and they made sure it matched evenly on both sides, they included good sturdy zippers, and the piping was properly done. They were very friendly and professional. I first went to ASAP across the street, they gave me a higher cost and told me i'd need 5 1/2 yards to do an ottoman. Then I went to Bob's the price got higher & they told me 4 yards. Finally, I went to Chongs. I had used them years ago and was very pleased with the quality of work. He gave me the best price and told me 3 yards. I'm going with Chong. We gave these guys a deposit of $495 to re-upholster some cushions for a couch set. A few days later we changed our minds. Chong's refused to refund our deposit, and said that was their policy. Even though we were never told this or signed anything. When I told them it was "unprofessional" of them to keep a deposit for work that wasn't done. They got testy with me and said I was "unprofessional". I can understand keeping a deposit if they had bought fabric or done any work, but they didn't do anything. And then to get ugly with me. I have used them before but never will again. Follow up- After posting this review on-line, I did get a call from them saying they would refund my deposit. But it was not a pleasant experience and I won't use them in the future. read more
