5 Star Custom Upholstery is WONDERFUL. I had such a great experience with them, from start to finish. They re-upholstered a day bed for me and did an absolutely beautiful job. I was also pleasantly surprised that they brought me the left over fabric, from my re-upholstery job. It is not too much, but it is enough for me to take right back to them, and order a few small accent pillows to match the daybed. (Which I plan to do soon.) They could have discarded the fabric or made pillows to sell in their shop, and I would never have known the difference. The honesty meant a lot to me. And speaking of fabric ... they have zillions of beautiful choices, in all price ranges. They were very patient with me and I am a person who does thorough research and takes her time, before I finally make a decision. I will admit a lot of places would have likely become annoyed or frustrated with me, for taking so much time and visiting the showroom to look through samples, over and over and over again, requesting pricing. But they were very kind and pleasant and willing to check pricing for me on many fabrics, many times. I also felt they charged a very fair price, especially considering the craftsmanship and turn around time and their willingness to do the pick up and drop off. The turn around time was so much faster than I expected. It was the holidays and I had to request they hold the daybed a few extra weeks for me, due to my extra traveling and holiday activities. True to form, they were very accommodating and understanding. So comfortable, double welted, clean tight finish...reversible cushions, nice clean work - you get a tremendous value for the price you pay. And they were quick too - which was totally unexpected! Client thrilled - seriously well built chairs, fabric (client provided), labor etc. cost about $600 each for everything! For a halfway decent new chair you'll be spending $900 - $1,500. each and they're not nearly as well made as a good solid Henredon chair from 20 years ago. I had a recliner redone by 5 star upholstery a few months back, and the work was excellent. In fact guests tell me that the updated padding and fabric make the chair hard to climb out of it's so comfortable. The color I picked out was a medium brown tone, which I picked out from a sample book. When I came back a few weeks later to pick up the chair, I didn't recognize it. The fabric turned out to have a bright sheen to it, was not at all like what the sample looked like. It was velvet fabric I found out, not knowing much about it. I did not want that fabric. I showed it to Jose and he said he would check with the fabric vendor. I picked out another color that would not have the two tone, shiny velvet look, but is a solid fabric color. I was expecting that this was not going to go well. About a week later I checked back and to my surprise the chair had been recovered with the fabric I wanted at no extra charge! I am so pleased with the chair and the great service I received. read more

We used them to replace the worn out springs on our 12yr old leather sofa, loveseat, chair and ottoman. They also replaced our worn out seat cushions in all pieces. Did a fabulous job and worked with us on getting all pieces done in time for the holidays.
