I accidentally booked the wrong service since I was transitioning from acrylics, but Olga caught it right away and worked with the front desk to make sure I wasn't overcharged which was so appreciated! The receptionist was also incredibly kind and welcoming. The salon is spotless, they offer you a drink when you arrive, and the service was excellent. I got an acrylic removal, hard gel manicure, and French tips. Olga was very detailed and checked in throughout to make sure I loved the shape and look. I was really disappointed with my second visit to Look At Me Nail Salon. My first gel manicure here turned out great, which is why I came back. Unfortunately, the second experience was completely different. After I returned home from my appointment, I noticed that at least three of my nails clearly looked as though the polish had grown out because there was a visible line where the gel hadn't been blended properly near the cuticle. A fresh gel manicure should not look grown out. I was having my nails done before leaving town for vacation, so I contacted the salon that same day and sent photos of the issue. Because I was leaving, the earliest they could fit me in was after I returned. By then, my manicure had already grown out for about a week. Their proposed solution was to fix only the three affected nails. I didn't think that was a reasonable resolution. At that point, repairing only three nails would have left those nails looking freshly done while the rest of my manicure showed a week's worth of growth, making the overall manicure look uneven. I explained that I didn't feel repairing only three nails was an appropriate solution. At no point did anyone offer a refund, a partial refund, or any other effort to make the situation right. I understand that mistakes happen, and I would have appreciated a fair resolution. Instead, I was left feeling that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority. It's especially disappointing because my first experience here was excellent, and that's exactly why I returned for a second appointment. i've come here a handful of times and I've also been to their sister location in Seattle, and SF. I would say this is my favorite branch. i've seen a couple of the girls and for the most part everyone is good. I just don't remember all their names. I think a salon with consistency is very important, and look at me delivers in that aspect. great nails take a great artist. Once I find someone good I like to stick with them. So my go to girl here is olga :). she is always very patient with me, detail oriented, and very receptive and does her best to give me just what i want. i've been to a couple of other Russian manicure salons in LA and I don't usually get add-on charges as much. Such as a polish removal if it's not from the salon. I think it's safe to say that most people will require a removal if you're going to get a new set. The salon is located on 3rd Street sandwiched between a lot other shops, but it's the one covered in teddy bears so it's hard to miss! The salon is very clean and has a very cute vibe, with Emily in Paris playing in the background. I had a 6:15 p.m. appointment booked for Wednesday evening. I scheduled a hard gel manicure with a French design, which was clearly communicated both in my appointment notes and again with the front desk when I checked in and if I would have known I would have left feeling disappointed in how I was treated I would have just stayed home. I came in with two broken nails and clearly communicated multiple times that I wanted a skinny square shape. I was more than happy to pay for extensions because I understood those two nails would need to be rebuilt to match the rest. However, I specifically did not want a coffin shape. Although Anna suggested switching to almond, I politely declined because I wanted to maintain the skinny square shape I had originally requested. When the color was being applied, I noticed my left hand was shaped coffin/ballerina while my right hand was skinny square. The difference was significant enough that it looked like two different sets of nails. When I pointed this out, I was initially told there would be an additional charge to correct the shape, despite it being an inconsistency in the original service. Because time was spent correcting the shape, there was no longer enough time to complete the French design I had originally requested. I intentionally booked with a top technician because I expected a higher level of precision. Having to point out such a basic inconsistency made me question what distinguishes a top technician from a regular technician. I don't mind paying premium pricing...I simply expect the quality to reflect it. I appreciate that the manager offered over the phone to redo my service and provide a refund for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, when I followed up to schedule the appointment, I received no response. I genuinely hope this experience can be turned around. My experiences at the Los Angeles location have unfortunately been marked by inconsistent pricing, credits not being applied as promised, and difficulty receiving follow-up communication, which has been disappointing given the consistently exceptional experiences my sister has had at your San Francisco location. read more

However, the outcome of the polish was not what I expected, despite showing the inspiration picture multiple times and asking if the outcome will be the same multiple times during the process. I was assured the chrome polish will come out shiny after the top coat was applied. I paid $140 for something that looked like a regular silver nail polish and was gaslit to think the outcome looked like the picture. And that lighting affects how the color looks. Confirmed 10:00 AM manicure/pedicure appointment on Feb 14 (Valentine's Day). I arrived and was told my appointment didn't exist. Then the front desk admitted it had been canceled the day before, but no one notified me -- no call, text, or email. I stood there over 30 minutes while my appointment time passed, waiting for a solution to their mistake. Instead, the employee tried to move on to the next customer and avoid helping me. She later stepped outside to take a call so I wouldn't hear, called me outside, and told me her manager was fired and she's new so she "doesn't know what to do." I left without service. No apology. No follow-up. I've been a loyal client 36 + times since 2024 stated going to look at me since there previous location & now new location. I'm pretty particular about my eyelash technicians and only had to start branching out to a different location after my favorite eyelash tech moved out of the country. Scheduling at Look at Me is pretty standard, in comparison to other businesses and it is easy. One of the main differences between Look at Me and other eyelash businesses is that if you go longer than 2 weeks, they require you to get a full set. At first, I have to admit I was a bit thrown off by this. However, I have noticed that my natural eyelashes are in better condition with this method. Also it just feels better to have a completely new set, each time I go in. I recently received a lash tint and eyebrow wax and enjoyed the service. The only only downside, at least for the W. 3rd location is parking. Depending on when you book your appointment, it can be difficult to find parking as it is only metered, street parking. read more
