My first experience wasn't what I was hoping for. If you prefer getting your eyebrows threaded instead of waxed this isn't the place. They only have one person who threads and after rescheduling to accommodate their needs, she accidentally started with waxing when I booked a threading appointment and said she didn't read that it said threading. I have been coming here consistently for 6 years now and even though I've moved to West LA I will keep coming back no matter how long the drive. I did brows and lashes lamination first time ever. I should have not done it, seriously. My real lashes pretty tick them selfs i just wanted to have some lifting look for more volume. So here what happen: First of all both over-burned, then my skin around eyes peeled next day and i had red rash for over the week, where in fact before doing these procedures i have mentioned that im going on vacay and if there any side effects after, where i was told "no plus we have professional doing it". If you understand, i was not my self enjoying the vacation or taking any picture or going out because how I looked like. Brows became looking better two weeks after the procedure, but not lashes... Its been over a month now since lamination, and My real lashes now all fallout! And so brows have now empty patches. I hope with vitamins to get some back which will take a time if the aura wasn't damaged, but since the skin was burned and peeled, im most likely sure its damaged. Bijou will damage your natural lashes and charge you full price for it (without a refund). I can't imagine that their other services are any better if this is their standard for quality of services provided. Please stay away from Bijou for your own eye safety. For context, I have been getting lash extensions for 10 years and I have worked in the beauty industry myself. I went in for a full hybrid set, and as I walked out of the salon I had that dreaded crunchy feeling when closing my eyes which typically means that synthetic individual lashes are glued together. I went home and inspected further and sure enough, there were clumps of lashes all glued together at the base and you could barely brush through them. Globs of glue were visible all over the place. I even spotted an individual synthetic lash attached to four of my natural lashes. This is a recipe to have your natural lashes pulled out and destroyed. When I called Bijou before my appointment, the receptionist had no idea what type of lashes they used (they offer many different types of services so I thought maybe she just doesn't know much about lashes) but when I asked the lash tech after the service, she also stumbled over her words and could barely articulate what type of lashes she was using. Finally, I called two days later (only because they were closed on Sunday, otherwise I would have called sooner) to try to work out a solution with the salon before writing this review. I was directed to "send them an email" in order to get in touch with their management. They would not talk to me about this issue any further over the phone, and the receptionist told me that "management doesn't come into the salon." I asked for a phone number to speak to the manager or owner and the receptionist said the only way to get in touch with them was via email. So in addition to the lost time and money spent on the appointment, the phone call, and the inevitable removal I need, I am also expected to track down the ever elusive "management". I attached a photo of all of the lashes that shedded a few hours after my appointment, and you can see one of them is actually two lashes glued together. I also experienced burning during the procedure. For your own eye safety please stay away from this place. read more

I had Microblading done on my brows last spring with Nesa. I was really happy with how they looked after the first session- I'd brought a photo and I felt she executed the vision I had! I'd specifically told her I wanted to see the individual hairs and didn't like a shaded or blocky brow. A few months later I went in for my touch-up session. Nesa insisted on adding shading to my brows which I told her I didn't want, but she was extremely pushy and went ahead and did it anyway without my permission because she said she knew what would look best. Now every day when I wake up, I have to fill in the uneven spots in my brows where she didn't do any shading because they look uneven and patchy (when I didn't want any in the first place, and the whole point of Microblading was to avoid having to apply makeup to my brows.) The beautiful strokes she'd originally done are now just blurry and powdery looking. I'm leaving this review months after my treatment because I still think about how unhappy I am with the service and my experience with Nesa. read more

This is my first yelp review ever because I was so blown away by my experience with Bijou. I had an evening appointment last week and there was some kind of special event in the area and I could not find parking. I called to let them know the situation and that I was running a couple of minutes late. James at the front desk kindly told me about a 30 minute parking space a block or so away and even offered to refill the meter so I wouldn't get a ticket. He was incredibly helpful and friendly and made everything stress free. My appointment was with Lira and I was a bit apprehensive as the first time I tried a lash lift (at another salon) it didn't work at all and they wouldn't do a refund. Lauren is incredible. She has done my lashes 3x so far and it has changed my life. I look totally different and people think I'm wearing mascara but I haven't had to wear any since meeting her. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, I am generally a very positive and loving person and like to support good businesses, but yelp exist for a reason and I hope this review will make Bijou take accountability for there actions. I'm a guy and got the peach fuzz around my eyes waxed off, the wax left a very mysterious painful scar around my eyes, I'll leave photos below. The day after the waxing I had an appointment to get a facial at Bijou. I called them to complain and to ask advice about what to do for the burns, I was super paranoid they would scar. Bijou offered nothing to help the burns, no ointments or advice, in fact when I told them that I wasn't coming to my facial because I didn't want anyone touching my face or irritating my skin they were rude about canceling the same day, oh the irony. I had to spend 300$ dollars on a specific burn cream to avoid scarring at Dr. Emers office. Over all, would never recommend anyone to go here. read more
