First, as "professionals" they should walk through the enter house they're loading from with the owners to ensure they've collected and loaded all items. They shouldn't rely on someone who's overwhelmed and stressed from such a large move. After my house cleaning crew completed their work they sent pictures of everything left behind and one room that the movers removed and loaded furniture from had my stand-alone freezer left behind. How they managed to move items from the room and forgot the freezer is beyond me. They should always ensure they've cleared a room before moving on to a new room. After realizing it was left behind, I called them to let them know and their reasoning for wanting to charge me $140/hr plus travel time is because they claim that we ( there was multiple people helping them move) told them the house was clear. They would not go back and collect the freezer after I paid the over $1500 and after tipping them both $100. A true professional company would have understood and gone back to collect and deliver the item. Instead, I had to have my friends and family go out of their way to help me move my freezer. Very unprofessional of Goldline to not even offer any help or partial refund or something, anything. I also noticed the next day, my bedroom side table had a medium size chip of wood torn off the side and my master bedroom wall by the entrance had a crack and dent. One I know for sure was not there as it's a new home and I would have seen that during the house inspection and it was this company that moved my bedroom furniture in the room. The owner. Andy, was friendly, but unless he likes receiving low rates about his business, I suggest he put his customers needs first, before, during and after a move. If I ever move again, I won't be using this company. Rent a U-Haul truck and hire workers... $1000's cheaper.

I initially contacted another moving company for an interstate move from San Diego to Las Vegas. The bid came in very high, and I was told by that company that there were "additional fees" for interstate moves, making the price much higher than expected. Then, just 3 days before my scheduled move, that company called and tried to more than double the price!  leaving me in a total panic. I reached out to 5 STAR Moving Company, and the owner, Craig , responded immediately. He was furious when I told him my story. He calmed me down right away with his happy demeanor and reassuring words that they would take care of the move at a fraction of the quoted price. All was true. Off the bat, Alona was incredibly helpful and professional in the info gathering phase - asking all the right questions so that no surprises come up for us, or for SBM. She was able to give me a price range for our move, but assured us that a firm price will be supplied once a visual assessment was taken. At the end of the call, she scheduled a video call at an agreed upon date and time for us to walk through our apartment with their estimator. The visual assessment call came exactly as scheduled, and had it not been for some technical difficulties on my end, it went without a hitch. A day after, Alona supplied us our fixed price proposal for our move. The morning of our move, Tristan texted me to let me know that the movers were en route. They actually got to our apartment complex early, but didn't ring the doorbell until the agreed upon start time of 8:30. At 8:30, Jett, Jose and Thomas got to work right away. Even though we were on the 3rd floor of our building that was without an elevator, these gentlemen made quick work of our boxes, furniture and belongings. We did our best to box our things up nicely, but the Team took great care to wrap furniture with the moving blankets and plastic wrap they had brought with them to mitigate any potential damage. In less than 3 hours, our apartment was emptied and our belongings were stacked neatly into the 20' Uhaul they had rented for the move. The drive out to Texas for Jett and Jose could not have been more difficult. We knew this first hand because we drive a nearly identical route just a few hours behind. It rained, then the sun came out, then it stormed. At the Arizona and New Mexico border, the moving truck had to take a detour on to a state road because of a train derailment that caused the I-40E to be shut down. Heading into Texas from New Mexico, there were reports of tornadoes that had touched down. All this to say that the Team went above and beyond to trek through some craziness while ensuring the safety and security of our belongings as well as staying safe on the road themselves. When we finally arrived in Texas, Jett and Jose got to our new place before we did. When we got our keys and opened the doors, they got right to work offloading the truck and moving our things in. Again, they moved quickly and efficiently, despite the humidity. Before we knew it, the truck was emptied and boxes were placed where we asked them to put them. We honestly could not have asked for a smoother move. Jett was quick to communicate through text with updates. Everyone on the Team was extremely courteous - I even had to ask Thomas to not address me as "sir". My desk is broken and unsafe, assembled incorrectly. They made two trips, and during the second, they were gone for an extended period and returned with almost nothing, leaving behind many large items we had agreed needed to be moved. Now, I have to hire another set of movers to bring them over. Moving is already expensive and stressful, and this experience has been utterly devastating for me. As a single mom of five, with three of my children having autism, life is already incredibly challenging. I did speak with one of the owners and received an apology and partial refund ($400 of the $1400 I paid), but with all the damage to my belongings (which I will have to replace) and the damage to my old house (holes in doors, from being careless), I am truly heartbroken.
