This is my second visit for car repair since moving to north Texas a little over a year ago. I brought my car in last year for brake repair. They saved me $700 compared to another quote I received. Great job, expedient and kind. Brakes seemed a little off again so I brought the car back to them just over a year since my last visit. To my surprise they resurfaced the two front rotors again (instead of ordering unnecessary new ones) and replaced the pads - No Charge!! Even though I was just out of my one year warranty on parts and far beyond my warranty on labor which is only 3 mos. This is an honest business who truly cares about their customers. They did it again. My windshield squirter died, and I took it in late so they could work on it the next day. I didn't hear from him until 1:30, so I called. He said he had just called all the dealers and parts stores in the area, and no one had the part in stock. He was going to get it sometime the next day. After telling me how well car makers hide the parts and make them harder to access, I was sure the estimate was going to be high. It wasn't. My family recently moved to Irving and are in the process of feeling out the city and finding our guys. I feel pretty confident that we've found our car guys with Lopez Auto Repair. We found out about Lopez Auto via word of mouth from friends at our church. It seems everybody who is a customer here has been a customer for 15 years! Customer service was the shining factor at Lopez. Robby, the shop manager, is a very effective communicator. My car is nearing the end of its life and the team was very willing to work with me as I decided what work made sense to pursue. On this particular visit, total time in the shop ran a little on the long side due to how busy the shop was when I arrived, but total cost came in lower than anticipated. Sometimes I feel left out of the loop and then surprised with a large bill at auto repair places. This was not one of those times. My tip is to avoid the Monday morning rush if you can! I called Lopez Auto Repair at the urging of a friend after receiving two quotes from other repair shops. Both quotes for my faulty air conditioner were that the compressor needed to be replaced. One was $1000 and one was $1,800. I called Robby at Lopez, and he gave me a quote of $650, over the phone. He said that he could have it done the same day, if I brought it first thing in the morning. I went ahead and took my car to the shop at about 2pm the same day, giving them some extra time to get it done. It was Thursday, and if they ran into trouble on Friday, I didn't want to be without the car over the weekend. About 2 hours later, I get a call from Robby. He said that they evacuated the A/C system, put the correct amount of freon back in the system, and that the system is working perfectly. They drove it around, stopping at red lights, etc. to ensure that the temperture remained cold on the hot day. He said that he put gauges on it, and every thing was "on the money". I've had the car back about 24 yours, and the A/C is working like a charm. Total cost of repair $112. He saved me about $900 by being honest. I've used Robbie Lopez and his guys for over 15 years. He has never steered me wrong. He has always come in under his quote price and been completely honest. A few years back I needed a repair. Since I was there I had them look at my brakes. I told them I have the money to fix them now so lets get it done. Later that day Robbie told me I didn't need new brakes, that all the noise was just brake dust and that I have another 5,000 miles on them. These guys are absolutely wonderful! I had gone to a mechanic closer to my house to look at the brakes on my car. After finding multiple issues, they quoted me for $1400 to fix it all (which is pretty much more than my car is worth). My roommate referred me to Lopez so I called them up, brought it in, and they looked at it, told me what it actually needed, and it was only $275. So they did the work and the brakes are so much better now! I'm definitely going to go there for my car from now on. I can't say enough good things about Lopez Auto. My car died in the parking lot at work one morning. Lopez sent two men to look at it. They got my car running and took it to their shop. Turns out I had a bad alternator. They repaired my car and returned it to me before days end, even though I know they had a full schedule and had to squeeze my repairs in. They also repaired another problem I was not aware of that could have caused more problems. The cost for repairs was very reasonable. Staff is very nice and helpful. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO LOPEZ AUTO!!! Under the recommendation of a close friend I took my vehicle to this place to have some brake work completed. Initially, Mr. Lopez was extremely friendly and promised that he would have the repair taken care of properly. Upon picking up my car I noticed that my brakes were still grinding. I left my a second day for Mr Lopez to inspect the work he completed. He said the repair was done completely and accurately and no further action needed to be taken. Fast forward less than 5 months later, I noticed my brakes were squealing. I decided to take my car to another reputable shop only to find out that the work Mr. Lopez completed left my car in worse condition than when I took it to him, costing me more money! I am furious! When I arrived at Lopez Auto Repair, I was warmly greeted by the manager, Robby, and Clutch, the cat. Robby did not speak to me as if he knows more than me (he did) and just kindly walked through his recommendations.
