This was after the "stealarship, Toyota of Plano lied to me, re: 2 major things wrong with/my 2005 Toyota Camry, & of course, they lied, re: telling me how to fix these 2 things, tellin me I needed to replace additional parts, that were not needed, to the total of $4,800!!! After I showed Mr Q. the paperwork diagnoses from the thieves, Toyota, re: emissions problem & an oil leak. In 5 minutes, Mr Q. initiated, showing me where the worst problem, the oil leak was. And told me what I needed to get this under control, was a new gasket cover. Told me the price before I could even ask...$180. And $20 for Texas inspection & to double check the emissions was now ok. First time to this place and was really glad I found it. I went to a Toyota dealership the morning before this and this place ended up overwhelmingly beating their price. You guys know what I mean if you've been to a dealership. Its always this long list of BS to confuse you when you really only need an oil change and end up charging/milking you hundreds at those conniving dealerships. Quoc, the service manager, actually stopped me from doing an unnecessary service when he found out I actually didn't need it yet. Its going to be a bit redundant to what others posted on here but I'll be coming back for the honesty and prices. This place is about 35 mins from home but it was worth it for me. Quoc has earned my family's business from now on. Update: Still been coming to this shop after 2 years ever since I found it. Still great prices as ever. They even added a couple of message chairs besides the free refrigerated water. Customers can use the message chairs free while they wait. Let's see another business do that for their customers! It's been 8 years since my last review. I no longer have the 2004 Civic I took to Mr. Quoc's shop for over 14 years. Now I have a 2013 Civic because I traded the last one in (in perfect working condition thanks to Mr. Quoc and his team) and this is still the only place I will ever take my car to in the metroplex. Easily the most underrated auto repair shop in town. If you're one of the lucky ones who found this place decades ago, you'll know why you continue taking your vehicles to them for maintenance and repairs. I thought Quoc did an awesome job with my car and this was the best experience at a mechanics that I've had. He took me to the bottom of my car to show me my brakes and rotors, which were very worn. He also opened the new brake and rotor box in front of me and put them on. Reasonable prices. I would highly recommend to all my friends. One thing to be aware of. He is a streamlined business and I think he answers his own phones, so when he is working on a car he won't be able to answer phone. I took my Nissan Juke to another place for repairs and when I picked it up they said they couldn't check the turbo part of the engine, so I was worried that it wasn't really fixed. They said I'd have to take it to a dealership, so I found this highly recommended shop on Yelp. I dropped it off here on a Friday morning and in about an hour, he called me to say he'd driven the car and checked it out, and it was in great shape. We all know the hassle of trusting someone when it comes down to auto mechanics. I myself have been in mechanic relationships that that seemed great at first. But we all know that in all relationships as time passes we start noticing the lies and cheats. Unfortunately I have been at the bad end and have come to the conclusion that all mechanics are not the same. Upon reviewing Mr. Quocs reviews I decided to give him a chance. I was not disappointed I spoke with him over the phone and he gave me a decent price 2 days later i was at his shop. It's a small shop that specializes in Japanese imports. My vehicle was an Infiniti, alternator went out and I knew what was wrong. He examined the car and ultimately agreed that the alternator needed replacement. I dropped it off Thursday and my vehicle was ready 3 hours later. Talk about fast service, he kindly explained other issues that needed attention that I knew about due to taking it to dealership to get a diagnosis. Just goes to show that he knows what he is doing and is truthful. My experience has been just like everyone else on here. I brought in my 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe along with the front control arm kit - 6 different parts ($365 online) to have it swapped out with the old ones. Quoc (manager) was very friendly, knowledgeable and honest. He charged me $300 (labor only) that was way cheaper than the other 2 shops. I took my car a 2015 Lexus to a couple of places in town that I will not name. I needed a water pump replacement on a 2015 Lexus RX350 with 95000 on it. The two places told me over 1100.00 for this to be done and one was the Lexus dealership and the other a place that specializes in fixing Lexus. I found Japanese Auto repair luckily on the internet and decided to give them a chance because there is no way that i wanted that to pay that amount for a water pump. I dropped it off and my car got fixed in a timely manner and they only charged me 450.00 dollars for replacing the pump. They also checked my brakes to make sure they were ok. Quoc is simply the best mechanic i have ever had to work with. My dealership had a ridiculous list of repairs for my 2009 infiniti g37, and was not going to pay 2 grand to get it all done. So i looked up all the parts that i needed on rockauto.com and made sure with Quoc. All in all, got 4 brake pads and rotors replaced with brake line flush, 2 engine air filters, a leaking radiator tube with radiator fluid flush, and engine belt replaced for about 500 bucks. If you have a Japanese car, do what i do, go to the dealership for an oil change, they will tell you what needs to be done for the car, then get the parts and just go to Quoc. He will give u an honest opinion and excellent price for labor. read more

A good mechanic is hard to find, an honest one is even harder. Trust me! The owner's name is Quoc. He's the best mechanic I have ever met. I have a 04 Camry, and this morning, something went wrong with the engine. It sounded so weird. I felt like something was broken inside. I took it to Japanese Auto Repair hopefully to have it inspected and fixed if necessary. Quoc diagnosed the problem and fixed it pretty quick. He even gave me some advice so that it won't happen again in the future. Price is very reasonable.
