Hair treatment exceeds expectation. However, the hairdressers are too chitty-chatty and ill-gossipers. Clients feel uncomfortable. If hairdressers had the capacity to provide hospitality, the salon would receive a kind review with five stars. It is very unaccepting to make a client feel mistreated, especially when they are paying above price for treatment. The elder lady is very sweet. However the young ones, especially the failed bleach dyed blonde lady (Roma), is ill-mannered, disrespectful. This nasty behavior is not accepted and I may proceed with a lawsuit to shut down this business if I or other clients aren't receiving better treatment. read more

No star!! On October 4th 2022 my daughter and I went for our regular wash and blow out. We both have natural hair and just wanted a quick blow out for the change of our natural curls. Well two weeks later when I go to wash my daughter hair clumps, strips of hair is coming out and she is composing of tingling and itchy sensation. Her hair smelled as if a chemical had been rubbed throughout her Virgin hair. Two rinses and washes later and an ER visit with a diagnosis of scalp irritation. This business needs to be shutdown. This place was amazing. From the customer service and positive energy I would totally refer anyone looking for great quality service. The prices are super affordable and not to sound rude but most of the workers understand english, despite being a Dominican hair salon. That's always something that's challenging when you go to Dominican salons- communicating with the person doing your hair. This spot was also opened on Christmas Eve which shows their dedication to making sure out hair looks good for whatever the purpose is. I don't recall if they accept cards but definitely give them a try. OH- they do charge $2 for bobby pins if you want your hair wrapped. I paid $35 for wash & set with a deep condition and roots blown out + bobby pins. Lastly, they wrap your hair in saran wrap and place you under a dryer for the deep conditioned. I love the fact that they are open on a Sunday. One time I've made the mistake to go on a Saturday. I got burned, and once I've stepped outside 10mins later my hair was frizzy. However for alllllllll the othet times, that I went on a Sunday. The 2 ladies almost did an amazing job. I love the shampoo lady, she provides that good Skin, hair cleaning massage. Great Dominican hair salon. I went on a Wednesday around 1PM and there were about 5 customers already there. I didn't have to wait much to be serviced. I got a relaxer, wash and set, trim and then my hair blow dried and flat ironed for $60.00. Price was very reasonable and my hair came out great. My hair feels soft and looks very healthy. I would give them negative stars if possible. I had 2 personal experiences with this salon a few years ago. The first time I loved my hair. I got a wash and treatment with a blow out for a reasonable price and my hair smelled minty for about a week after I went to the salon. My second visit left me so upset I vowed to burn their store down! I was disrespected and made to feel as though something was wrong with me b/c I have thick natural hair (and b/c I don't speak Spanish). The prices also seemed to fluctuate each time I inquired and I finally just had to leave without my hair done. I will NEVERRR set foot in this salon again. Ok where do I begin??..., I Freakin love these girls!!! Especially Agatha and the one that washes my hair, I think her name is Mable but I'm not too sure. I started comin here 3 months ago when a friend of mind referred me and of course since her hair was evidence alone that they were good I decided to give them a try and I cannot express enough how happy I am that I did. Compared to the place I used to go (Sister Unisex in Bklyn), that place has nothing on Lopez Beauty Salon. Agatha is the one to always set and perm my hair while the one who I believe to be named Mable always washes my hair. Those 2 women always take there time with me and all their customers, everyone is so nice and no matter how overwhelming things may get for Agatha or Mable they still manage to get everyone's hair done to perfection especially for me. Those are the only 2 women who do my hair every time I come, whereas with Sister Unisex it would be more than 2 (yes in one day) and its not always the same person to do it when u go back. Sometimes I end up having to wait longer than I want to to get my hair done, but honestly I would wait 2 hours if I had to bcuz these girls are worth it, plus its closer to where I live and my hair looks so much better since I've been coming here. The prices are good to, but truth be told, it doesn't even matter to me what they charge. Love this place, anyone who think different is crazy. read more

I have been going to Lopez for years. They are great and have great service. But on this day, 12/15, the customer service wasn't that great. One of the employees was very nasty to me. I went in for a specific haircut and she wasn't very nice to me at all. She talked down to me and made me feel really low in front of the other customers. I've been a customer of Lopez Beauty salon on Tryo Avenue for a long time. I come from Harlem every Saturday to get my hair washed, set, and wrapped. One time I started going somewhere else and I paid dearly for it. All the hair on one side of my head broke off! They are busy , but they charge a VERY reasonable price and if they see something wrong with your hair they will tell you and make the necessary recommendations/changes to help you grow your hair back! However, their customer service is HORRIBLE! When people work in the service industry they need to professional and friendly.
