Their estimate and approval process was incredibly thorough and easy to understand. They use an app that sends estimates electronically for approval, which made everything so clear and stress free. They also completed my repairs much quicker than originally estimated and went out of their way to make sure I had my car back before the weekend. They were more than happy to accommodate my pickup time, even though I arrived just a few minutes before closing, which I truly appreciated. I asked Lopez how much they charged for an A/C problem diagnosis, and they said $199 over the phone. I dropped off my van, but when I picked up my van (4 days after they said It would be ready), they told me that I owed them $650, and that the problem was fixed temporarily. I asked them about the diagnosis, and they said that's not what I asked for. They actually documented that I didn't ask for a diagnosis in their billing/service software system, so I think legally I can't do anything about it. So I paid them an additional $300 to diagnose the problem, which is what I initially asked for. They kept my van for another week, and then said they tried but couldn't find the problem, and to come back in 2 weeks. When I called them back after 2 weeks, they said if I brought the van back, I would have to commit to paying whatever it took for them to actually fix the problem. I decided not to bring my van back to them. read more

Went in for a thermostat replacement. It was suggested that I replace my sensor as well, to which I agreed. Brought my own part in from auto zone to which I was told there'd be no warranty since it was not their part and I said it was fine. Picked up my car, and I'm told they can't erase the check engine light. I get home, pop my hood and notice coolant leaking from the new thermostat (the part "I had no warranty on"). I didn't go back, I went with a family friend who owns his shop in Los Banos, he confirmed the job wasn't done well. Lesson learned! read more

In Three Months It All Went Bad Because Of A Shortage In The Car And It Makes All Your New Parts Go Bad And Started Leaving Me Stranded On The Side Of The Road. But Thank Goodness I Found Lopez Tires & Service They Found The Short And Took Care Of That They Pointed Out Some Other Things That Needed To Be Done And They Took Care Of Those Things For Me. So I usually go to the other Lopez Tires & Service location, but I was having an issue that they said would better be handled by this location. I had my car towed to the shop and mysteriously somehow my radiator, the fan, and my windshield were all damaged when I finally went to pick the car up. They didn't tell me about the radiator until the day I was coming to get the car and gave me a quote $200 over every other quote I got. Back to the repair that they performed... My car required a new key and to have its immobilizer reset. Anywhere else this would have been a one or two day job, but here it took 4. So I get the car home literally steaming, determined to get it fixed elsewhere (which I did for half their rate in one day). Then while sitting in my driveway I noticed that the windshield had a new crack. At this point can I say it was them for sure? Of course not. What I can tell you is that my driver door lock cylinder that they replaced fell into my door the next day because it was not secured. I call them back and make a new appointment to get their faulty repair fixed. I drive the fixed car to them and drop it off around 8:40AM. Then 9 hours go by without a call. I call them, no one picks up. So I call again and leave a message. No one calls. I was told it would be done in the afternoon and they are closing soon so I decided I would hop in a rideshare and go get the car, because they told me it would be done with no problems the same day. I call one more time and they answer and say that they are "still working on it, but it should be done in a few minutes." Which apparently is code for "we forgot." When I arrive and the car is not done. So I stand in the lobby and wait a few minutes as they try to rush through the job. About 5 minutes go by and I get my keys. I drive home happy to be done with the whole ordeal. The next day guess where that lock cylinder was again? That's right inside the door. Great job! Do not bring your car here if you have other options. It may be even more broken when you get it back. Then again, maybe I just got really unlucky somehow? Either way to be safe I will not be using their services going forward since they are clearly not very good at making repairs or doing so in an adequate timeframe. I first came here for a tire repair. They helped me right away and the tire is still going strong. I decided to give them a second try when my radiator went out. They were able to take the car in right away. They performed the work and we had our car back in a few days. They were upfront with the problems and the cost. I appreciate honesty. I was browsing Tire Rack and I noticed this shop popped up recently nearby as one of their listed installers. I figured I'd give them a shot when I was looking for brake jobs in the area. I went in a week ago to have a Power Stop front and rear brake kit (that I purchased online) installed with a brake service for my Mazda. They were done by the early afternoon. The pricing was reasonable. Brakes feel fantastic. Fast forward to today, I had noticed a strange oil leak coming from the front of the car as there was a small oily pool of liquid each day where I parked. Not sure how long it's been happening, so naturally I just took it to the last place that worked on my car. I brought it in this morning and they told me the drain plug and oil filter wasn't tightened all the way by whoever did the oil change (it was a different shop nearby recently). They corrected the other shop's mistake and topped off the oil I lost. Reasonable prices. Up front service. That's good enough for me. I used to go to Wright's Automotive a lot with my previous car, but Lopez Tires & Service took over that same spot. They're my new go to mechanic going forward! Can't say the same for the shop that did my oil change that Lopez Tires & Service had to correct, heh. I'll leave that for a totally separate review. read more

First time at Lopez Tires, Needed a tire repair. Very welcoming , Very kind , Very fast service.

I had come in for an oil change one day since I was long overdue so I decided to give this local place a chance. Fast forward a few months later, I went back to my regular place to get an oil change and they told me that someone had cut a hole in the engine bay guard cover. We have tried reaching out multiple times to speak to a manager about the reasoning for cutting a hole into the cover instead of taking it off. But, every time we have called asking to speak to the manager, conveniently the manager was on break or not working. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anyone with especially how they handle their business. read more

Review across 3 visits: First visit was back in April. Was happy to see a new shop close to home so I came by with a couple wheels and tires (off car) to mount, balance, and dispose. No issues at all and it was $60 out the door and didn't take too long. Second visit was in November, similar job as the first. Went in with higher expectations since I had a good experience in April. Dropped everything off as soon as they opened and communicated that I needed it done by the end of the day, to which I was told that it would not be an issue. 1:00 comes around and I give them a call to check in and I'm told it won't be done until tomorrow so I decide to just grab my wheels as I needed them for the track the following day. I understand that shop work can be unpredictable and plans don't always work out but a quick phone call a little earlier on would have made things a lot more seamless. Third visit was earlier today. Despite my frustrations with the previous visit I figured I'd give the place another shot. Brought a single wheel off car, even physically brought it over myself to the machine just to get a tire dismounted. Took all of 3 minutes to get done. I probably should have asked how much it would cost beforehand so that's on me but $20 for something like that is actually insane. Had I known I would have just loaded up and went elsewhere. Unfortunately I probably won't be coming in again. The bare minimum of communication and customer service is not that much to ask for. I hope for the other customers sake that these are just one off instances. read more

I can't speak highly enough about Lopez Tires & Service. My family and I were driving down 880 during the evening and got a flat. We pulled off to put the spare on, only to find that the spare was flat too. We tried inflating it at a gas station, but it wasn't doing any good and it was starting to get dark out. As luck would have it, Lopez Tires was right next door to the gas station. Only problem: It was after hours. I walked into the office and Mando immediately walked over to take a look at our tire. He then asked us to pull up to the shop so we could try inflating with his compressor. After trying a few things, we realized that wasn't going to work. Then he took to looking at the flat. Was it repairable? Unfortunately there was too much damage to repair. He then set out to find a replacement, first among the used tires, then among the new. There wasn't a perfect fit available, but there was a tire that would at least get us home. Of course, that tire wasn't the right size, so it would only be a temporary solution. But we understood that we'd be paying for the ability to get back home. In all, Mando probably spent more than an hour with us--after closing! Through it all he was helpful, friendly, and absolutely no pressure. He was considerate of our time, money, family, and safety. He told us our options and really left it up to us to determine what was best for our needs. It was a really great experience and amazing service for what could have been such a terrible evening. read more

All I have to say is this is been the best shop by far I've ran into Armando and his team are awesome I've been dealing with a ongoing issue with my brakes and rotors got brand new one so I was told 4 different times almost a year now I was referred to Lopez tired and service in San Leandro where they got me right he was able to detect the issue fast very reasonable on prices Im so thankful for them because the way my brakes in rotors was he saved my life when I keep being told my car was ok I highly recommend them to anyone I promise you want be disappointed in there work it also hard to find someone who is honest with you and not try to upsell you all I can say is five stars for me read more

Had rear brakes done by shop in April .Have invoice. They also installed a new part they didn't charge to install. Few days after they were done a brake caliper came off and brake fluid came out as shown in pics. I went to shop informed issue in person. They said they would tow it and fix it same night and give credit back. No tow truck/not fixed same not but next day and no credit was given. My poor judgement for letting them drive it away. I wonder if they used vise grips to clamp brake line to drive back to shop. They did reimburse for Lyft rides. Leaving poor feedback isn't fun for either party. I get it mistakes happen but not at the expense of people's safety. I gave an honest and fair assessment of what happened. I didn't ask where's the credit mentioned or what exactly was done to fix mess up. I just know the 2 missing bolts were replaced and didn't go under to see if caliper was replaced. read more
