The wait was LONG, but I thought it was worth it, because I had an awesome time. Sad it got cancelled.

My fiancé and I used to have Dave & Busters passes, so we knew we would enjoy Round 1. Upon entering, we went to activate a game card and Javier helped us out. He was friendly, and efficient. I was walking towards the back with the Japanese toy machines when I saw there was a Disney Photo Booth. I LOVE photo booths and make my fiancé take a photo with me every time we see one, but I'm also a huge fan of Stitch, so this was perfect. I have never seen a Disney Photo Booth before and was super impressed. Then we made our way to the claw machines, and here's where I wasted all our money. There was this panda nigiri that we really wanted and I was convinced if I just hooked the claw around the tag's loop we could get it. We spent all our money on this until about our last 3 swipes when Javier magically appeared and taught us how to do it. Just one try after Javier's instructions, my partner got it! We then went to reload the card since we wasted all our money on that one panda, and played more claw games, but this time the mini ones. I had so much fun- I got the duck ramen on my first try! Then we went back to the infamous panda nigiri machine to show that machine who's boss and BOOM I got a second one on my first try (thank you Javier for the tips!). It was so much fun and all the employees I interacted with were so friendly and sweet. I really enjoyed how the employees wanted to help us win. So much fun for a little date activity!

It's humongous, has reasonable structured parking right next to it with tons of spaces, and the win rate was very generous. It's attached to an inside mall that I didn't put a foot in, but I imagine it's a nicer mall based on the surroundings I passed. They seem to have a very large space inside, and a healthy volume of people roaming through all the aisles and arcade games. The people at the counters were also numerous and attentive. Yeah some machines were very weak and some had cheese wheels, but I think a majority were reasonably fair. I'm from NorCal and Burbank is by far my favorite Round1 at the moment. I liked this location so much that I had to visit it twice during my trip. I'm not too sure what to do with all the jumbo prizes I won! I will say though, this location has the laziest workers I've ever seen. We asked people to help us several times, and the usual response was "I'll get someone else" or being told to wait for nothing. You have to be extremely proactive and annoying about requesting for help. They're one of the first receivers of the gashapon and they're cute little keychain trinkets or figures, but ultimately I wasn't really interested in any of the random anime IPs.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

It's a free event, so a long line is understandable -- just something to plan for. The overall vibe inside was fun and worth checking out if you've got the patience. My only suggestion would be for them to open more than just four days in October. That would help spread out the crowds and make it easier for more people to enjoy the experience without such a long wait.

The theme this year is "Evil in the London Fog," and right when you enter, you feel like you've stepped into a foggy, cobblestoned, Victorian London of the past. This was my first haunted house I've ever done, and I don't like being scared. It is the perfect intro to haunted houses for someone like myself who is a scaredy cat - it was light on gore and very brief which made it manageable to walk through. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quite fast. The haunted house is built on their front yard (amazing), so you will get through it quite quickly. It is free, which is incredible for the amount of work that goes into it. However! There is a box where you can leave donations, and all proceeds go to Volunteers of the Burbank Animal Shelter. Everyone who was working the haunt was so friendly, with fantastic themed costumes to boot. Absolutely wonderful vibes all around! They deserve no tricks and ALL the treats!

This is my 2nd time attending this event. My advice is come early. Traffic getting in is crazy. We learned the first year so this year it went flawless. There is a Disney store in there that it is reduced in price but there was always a line to get in. They also had a separate lot that you had a time slot to get in there specially priced store. I was able to visit due to a Disney event hosted by D23 for their Jolly Holiday event. So my review is based on the D23 event of the property. First off, the time it took to get from the freeway to the parking lot was about 20 minutes. The line of cars did not move much and I believe there is only one parking structure to go into as a guest. I just knew I had to take a brief nap because I would have gotten motion sickness if I stayed awake. There was a lot of ground to cover and 90% of the event is held outdoors. If you ever participate in this event, bring a tote of some sort and your walking shoes. There were water stations all over the property. They had complimentary popcorn (salty, but good), cotton candy, candied apples (limited supply and didn't eat) that turned into sugar cookies at the end of the night (pretty good), Two hot apple cider stations, and one hot cocoa station. I tried their hot cocoa and it was not what I was expecting. It tasted burnt and didn't taste like cocoa that the parks usually sell. If it was through a 3rd party vendor, I had it towards the end of the night (maybe the batch was burnt) or maybe it was watered down coffee? Whatever it was I took one sip and threw it away. The grounds were filled with Christmas decorations and was very festive! The line for pictures with the characters were all long. There was an area for little carnival games to win prizes. The one a lot of people didn't like was the cube rolling race. That one took the longest to win and only 1 out of 4 can win. The cafeteria was lively but they ran out of a dish I really wanted. They said it will take another 15 minutes until new ones are made. I opted for the cheeseburger meal. I enjoyed the cheeseburger, but the fries were hard and not enjoyable to eat. Their vanilla cupcake was fluffy and I enjoyed the whipped frosting on top! I enjoyed the property but couldn't see or do what I wanted because I followed my party and didn't want to get left behind. The other part was the event was for 4 hours only. A good hour or so us was trying to park, walk to the check-in, then walk into the event. Getting out was also tough. We were rushed to get off the property. The security started forcing everyone to leave. I think it could have gone better?

The arcade is relatively small, but the bumper car area is quite spacious and doubles as a skating rink after 8 PM until closing, which only allows for about two hours of skating. Because this barn, or as Walt called it, "my happy place" is where all those magical ideas first got their start. When you go inside, you'll see many ideas built on happiness and some neat-o Disney history, too. A mini train ride around the property is also filled with little surprises to put a smile on your face. THE BACK STORY: Carolwood Barn served as Walt Disney's workshop where he spent many hours building miniatures and 1/8th scale model trains. It's been said that the barn itself is where Walt's original "imagineering" ideation sparked the inspo to create Disneyland Park. Originally, the barn was located in Holmby Hills and named after the street where he lived, which was Carolwood Drive. Later in 1999 after his passing, his daughter bequeathed Walt's hand-laid tracks to the Los Angeles Live Steamers (LALS), who maintained a rail museum in LA's Griffith Park. Fun fact: Walt was one of the founding & charter members of this locomotive enthusiast group (LALS) that formed back in 1956. So I guess the train story comes full circle. Carolwood Barn is open on the third Sunday of each month (11am-3am). Note: subject to change without notice. Admission is FREE, parking is FREE, and LALS members serve as volunteer hosts, and take you on train rides. So be nice to them, they're out there donating their time for free. Membership Perks: Help lay track, maintain signals, transport passengers, and operate live steam, diesel, or electric train engines from 1″ scale (1:32) to 1.5″ scale. It's a $100 annual fee and even kiddos can get a $20 Junior Membership. See, you can easily join the OG Walt Disney Club (Mickey ears are optional).
