We were recommended Lopez by our neighbour a few years back. For some reason the name stuck with me, and we finally called them this week. Mr Lopez himself came out the following day, quickly walked the property and gave me a good quote on 5 fellings and 5 prunings. I accepted, and they came out the same week. They arrived around 3 pm and left around 8 pm. There was some misunderstanding between the crew, but when that was pointed out, they were back out to correct it the same evening. My only comment would be that it would have been nice if he gave a call ahead of time to say they were on their way, instead I saw a truck pull up on my lawn and several others on the road around my house. But since I had said I was flexible with the hours, it was not the end of the world. They did an excellent job cleaning up as well. All in all, I will be calling them first again, should we ever need any more trees pruned or felled. On a side note, they do accept credit cards with a 3% surcharge. read more

If this is the Tree Service who's address is 440 Cumberland Ln, here is my comment for them. #1, they never kept their promise for any scheduled time, including meeting with customer for the discussion of the service. #2, THEY DID NOT SHOW UP on the scheduled service day, and without any phone call to explain why they could not show up. #3, They never contacted us when they could not show up. We had to call them after delayed for hours. They said "Yes, we are coming..", then we waited, and called them again. Finally, someone showed up but it was already 7 hours late. They are responsive to your call is quick and personable (office manager, Celeste is great) ;the estimate is timely and reasonable ( owner Oliverio is the best) ; the work is professional, effective and thorough. The 3 men who climbed 60 ft oak trees, worked the bucket were careful, knowledgable and highly skilled and the clean up was meticulously and quickly done. Lopez tree service is the best! We had a rotted tree that fell during a wind storm. My husband cut up the tree but we had no one to clean up the brush/remains or grind out the stump. After calling several tree services and landscaping companies, Lopez tree service is the only company that responded to our call. They came out and gave us a very fair estimate to hall the brush away and grind out the stump. We are so grateful to them because most tree services and landscapers didn't want to be bothered with a tree that was already down. And we couldn't have rented a chipper and stump grinder for the low price they gave us. We will be recommending them to neighbors, friends and family! read more

Excellent job I had two trees taken down one in the front yard and one in the back.The tree in back was in a very difficult position with power lines and the garden shed underneath.These guys made it look easy and very good clean up raked the yard and blew off street and sidewalk.Very happy with the job and price was right too. read more

Outstanding! We have had Lopez Tree Service, cut down multiple very large spruce trees and grind the stumps. They cleaned up the yard and all of the team was very polite. We have also had them grade our lawn and lay sod, as well as spread mulch. It was a high quality mulch and they were very meticulous in spreading it around our existing plantings of bushes and flowers. Lopez Tree Service has been to our home twice to remove trees. Their team is professional, organized, thorough and neat. They also have the heavy equipment to get the job done which is essential when working in hard to reach places. I have found their responsiveness and pricing to be the best in Dupage county. They continue to invest in the business as proven by the large lifting crane they brought to lift a tree over our 2 story house. If you want a no nonsense, get in and get out, service with good prices, give them a call. BTW - they may be a little hard to reach, but that us because they are busy, so they will call you back when you leave a message. I don't know about anyone else, but I would rather deal with a company that is busy versus one that is sitting by the phone. read more

Lopez ruined our beautiful 20-year-old maple tree by cutting far too many branches that didn't need to be cut and by not cutting the specific branch that we asked to be cut. We have lost the shade and privacy the tree provided. Mr. Lopez himself acknowledged the poor quality of the work that was done but that doesn't help. It will be years before the tree even begins to look the way it should. read more

We are very dissatisfied with this company. We hired them to trim some trees and do some landscaping. The tree work was satisfactory, and the workers themselves were fine. So why the low rating? The owner is apparently dishonest, just out to get your check, not at all concerned about honoring his own word as detailed on the estimate or even responding to customer concerns. He agreed to put in topsoil in two areas of our yard, some under sod and some under seed. But we were later informed by our lawn care pro that he had used discarded asphalt instead of topsoil, something which was not readily apparent at the completion of the work but only after several rains. We contacted the company repeatedly for discussion of this issue, even sending pictures, but Mr. Lopez never responded. We expected this work corrected, or at the very least a sizeable refund, since we are now faced with having to repeat the sodding and seeding. In addition, Mr. Lopez summarized a great deal on the written estimate, saying he would tell the workers all the details, yet failing to follow through on many of those details, in an attempt to get out of various parts of the job. He even argued with me about certain details that I insisted be completed per his verbal agreement which he had only summarized in writing. I have never reviewed a business online before, but I have also never experienced such dishonesty. read more

Beware! Lopez Tree Service is misleading, unfair and unethical. They need to be insured for all mistakes they cause, like mine and practice good and fair ethics and/or compensate customers fairly. Hired Lopez Tree Service to trim some maple trees and cut down a birch tree and an evergreen tree. Instead they cut down a fully mature (30 year old) Japanese Bloodgood Maple tree (RED) instead of the Evergreen tree (GREEN). I had to notify them that they cut down the wrong tree, I never got an apology, nor would the owner accept responsibility for the actions of his employees. Mr. Lopez offered me a 4 foot tree for the 30 year old Japanese maple tree. Not being acceptable, I asked for his insurance company information. Mr. Lopez was very difficult to deal with and was uncooperative and refused to divulge who his insurance company was. Took over a week before he finally had his insurance company contact me. Lopez Tree Service insurance does not cover for cutting down a wrong tree. Only pays if the tree fell on my house and damaged the house. Contacting nurseries, no one could get a mature tree like mine. The one closes was 1/3 of the tree I had in years and size. Mr. Lopez would not refund the money I had paid nor would he pay the difference in the value of the loss of my tree! Absolutely would not recommend using them. They mislead you with the insurance and are unfair and unethical in compensating for their mistakes. As the hired professionals they should know the different trees and put in place a check and balance system so that these errors are avoided and if they occur, pay for your mistakes! read more
