I really don't like dentist, but my experience with Stacie and Dr. Steddum was great. I was in and out in under an hour, too! I'll be back.

We have returned four times, driving from our home forty-five minutes away. Three of the four times were futile, as nothing was done but X-rays. Another time the cadaver bone process had failed, so no implant, just another incision in his gums with stitches and antibiotics. No information was given as to the process for having an implant, and no patient information was available when I asked. The doctor and the assistant looked at me in seeming disbelief that I had asked for information to read. There should be some type of informative literature offered to explain step by step what will happen. So far, it's been eight months since the tooth extraction with no implant yet!

With that being said, he was so good, I had to see him a second time. By that point he had his newer office here in Raleigh. He's the most personable professional I've had digging around in my head. Don't let his looks fool you, he can work a scalpel and a pair of pliers with the best of them. He operated on me 2x for a total of 4 teeth extracted. No infections, pain was minimal and instructions were clear. If I could use him again, I absolutely would. Thanks Eric.

Dr. Kozacko performed a wisdom teeth extraction on my son and he now has permanent nerve damage…read more After 2 years he still has a numb lower lip with no sensation. Office is old school and doesn't offer or use any newer technologies to avoid these possible complications. We were never informed of any possible complications that could occur due to nerve damage. During the consultation they put you in a tiny room and make you watch a 1990's video on the procedure. Not until after he realized he had nerve damage did he tell us this was a complication that could occur and made me sign a waiver for him to continue to treat him for post surgical infections. Do your research on newer technologies offered for this surgery before choosing this practice. Other practices in the area are more up-to-date technologies that can avoid complications of taking out wisdom teeth that are impacted. I regret ever using this practice or physician.

My wife broke a tooth and there was not enough left to put a crown on it. She was able to get an appointment with this office and they went over a number of things on the phone before we ever came in. Once we arrived we were greeted and everything was explained very thoroughly and our questions were answered. The office is very well organized and everyone was professional on our visit. Not all of the services were covered by our insurance but that was explained to us. We paid at the time of service and were given complete aftercare instructions. I see no issues with the office but everyone has their own experience and everyone is allowed their opinion.

First they sent me a bill from an appointment that was 6 months prior for charges that I had no knowledge of - they backtracked and said they don't take my insurance anymore and I needed to pay it. No, that's not how this works! I paid what I was supposed to pay when I was there, they wanted even more after 6 months?!? The way I found out was when my daughter went for her appointment and they told her it would be somewhere around $100 for what we had been paying $0 previously. No notice! I told her to get back in her car and come home, do not go sit in that chair for your cleaning! The office staff had the audacity to tell me they would charge me for a no show if she didn't stay, somewhere around $100. I laughed, and told her that it is on them for not informing us of their change in accepting our insurance and to come find me for that missed appointment charge - please, come find me! That was the end of going there. It's a shame. I liked Dr Adams, he was nice. It's the lack of communication with the patients in which they lack that led me to find another provider. Touché

It turns out, multiple aspects of dental work by Dr Adams was incomplete and done very poorly. After years of an infection that broke into my sinuses, I went to see a specialist who immediately identified the poor work. He also knew exactly who did the work, as he has had to help other former patients of Dr Adams with similar issues. Thousands of dollars, multiple procedures, and multiple health issues later, I am back on track and healthy. As a side warning - over the years, I have posted about this experience on provider review sites. Those reviews, and others I would see about similar botched work by Dr Adams, have since been removed.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY PROCEDURE!…read more Dr. Dunn was my physician. I do not recommend her what so ever. She has horrible bedside manor and is extremely unprofessional. During a procedure where I was suppose to be sedated. I was awake crying in pain, my blood pressure was also elevated to 150/90 (my baseline is 110/75), yet she informed me that I was not in pain. I was just experiencing "pressure". After the procedure she didn't communicate with me that it was over. She left and had her assistants wrap everything up. I had to ask to see her after my procedure, in which she was arrogant and did not apologize. I get tears thinking about what a horrible experience this physician made it for me. I left the clinic, feeling alert and oriented x4, not the typical scenario you see when someone gets their wisdom teeth taken out. I spoke to a pharmacist and she informed me that I should have never even remember the procedure based on the medication I was given. I am a cardiothoracic nurse at Duke, and I have never seen a doctor care so little about their patient, and to tell someone they weren't in pain as tears are rolling down their face.

EDIT: I JUST FOUND OUT I WAS OVERCHARGED BY AT LEAST $500. MY ORIGINAL QUOTE FOR SEDATION AND ALL…read moreWAS A MAX OF $600 PER TOOTH. I HAD THREE EXTRACTED AND WAS CHARGED ALMOST 3K FOR THE SURGERY. MINIMUM QUOTE WAS $800, MAX WAS $1800. DO NOT USE THIS SURGEON. While originally I found the Staff helpful, they made me uncomfortable going in, didn't explain much to me at all, told me nothing about my anesthetic that they were using. As I'm going under I'm hearing screaming from other rooms, the associate who was helping me (who couldn't even figure out how to get the nasal mask on my face and kept tripping over things and ripping them off of my face/chest) told me that "was normal for some people (to be screaming at the end)." It took an hour for them to get started after plugging me up to everything, two of the associates actually fought in front of me, one of them saying "don't be nervous we do this multiple times per day" and the other telling her "not to trivialize my experience" which was simply unprofessional. I woke up half way through the surgery and they obviously noticed and ignored me. I can understand not stopping the surgery simply because I woke up, but they didn't even speak to me as I'm screaming on the table (like I heard before I went in). Not an "it's okay, we are almost done, stay calm" nothing. When I left they gave me one extra gauze pad (and told me to change my gauze every 30 minutes, so I had to go buy extra gauze) and two ice packs that lasted 5 minutes each and they said 20 mins on, 20 mins off for as long as I could. The post op instructions were an absolute joke, they told me by day 2 to "go get myself a hamburger" which obviously doesnt match whay any doctor had told me) I had to go get more ice packs. After cinsulting other drs they said I shouldve recieved a small syringe like spray bottle to clean the wounds but literally i got two malfunctioning ice packs and two tiny balls of gauze. Within two hours the bleeding was so profuse I had to change the gauze every 15-20 minutes to stop my mouth from filling up with blood and my stitches had come out. I called the then still open office and nobody answered. I didn't get to sleep that night because of the bleeding and not being able to sleep with gauze in according to their instructions. They told me I should be able to eat soft foods, and I couldn't even though I had to be able to to take the meds they gave me (which when I mentioned that the pain killers weren't working they suggested I "take more motrin" which I had already explained to them that I was allergic to). Called the next morning and explained how bad the bleeding still was and the swelling (which they told me would go down by morning, then when I went in again told me would get worse for a week before getting better, even though my recovery time was originally supposed to be "three days"). The bleeding was less than it had been when I went in to my check up, but I explained that I was having to empty my mouth of blood more often than I was even supposed to have to remove the gauze and they didn't take me seriously at all. They gave me a list of things to watch for and when red flags came up and I called them they said it was totally normal, contradicting themselves yet again. By the time I left the consultation the morning after (because I had lost all of my stitches the day before and the pain was unbearable, not like "oh I'm in pain unbearable" but for all of you women out there, worse than cervical dilation. And that crap hurts. They acted like I was fishing for drugs even though I obviously wasn't, why would I go to a 3k surgery for drugs I could get by telling my Dr I had a headache? That weren't even working at that. I could've gotten the surgery done for half that price but opted for the "more expensive must mean better trained and more reliable" option which was obviously my mistake. They sent me home from my consultation the next morning with absolutely nothing but "take more of this medicine you're allergic to because even though we told you yesterday to call us if any of this happened we just like to contradict ourselves." Tl;dr obviously undertrained staff, horribly overpriced, didn't take anything I said seriously and acted as though I was either lying to them about everything or simply ignorant (even though I knew what I was talking about) plus I woke up half way through an Iv sedation surgery! Don't go here if you value your teeth, your dignity, or your ability to go back to work any time soon.

No one wants to have a root canal. But when that tooth pain just won't go away Dr. Bills is just…read morethe person you want to see. I had been a patient of hers several years ago and this is why I came back. I called on a Tuesday morning because my tooth pain was getting worse and worse. My regular dentist (who I should but won't name) kinda shrugged if off. He sent me on my way with a tube of Sensodyne. I was in luck that there was a cancellation and I went to Dr Bills office right away. It's a super convenient Cary location. All of her staff is super warm and caring. She even has a therapy dog on staff !!! She numbed me up really well and the procedure was painless. She and her assistant chat the entire time so that really keeps your mind off of what is going on in your mouth. I would so HIGHLY recommend Dr Bills and her staff. A root canal isn't really that bad.

I have spent the past month of my life in hell. It all started with a filling 2 months ago. That…read morefilling caused me such extreme cold sensitivity that it made me tear up drinking iced tea. Ice cream? Forget about it. The dentist said it was normal, it would go away. Fine, I would wait. Then I was waking up in the middle of the night with the worst pain I have ever experienced in that side of my face. Both the top and the bottom of my mouth. Dentist said I was grinding my teeth. Gave me a night guard. Night guard didn't work, dentist said I probably had a sinus infection because looking at the x-rays, my teeth were perfectly healthy. (I'm glad they looked healthy, they felt like they were about to explode but thanks for that.) I went to the doctor. Not a sinus infection. Dentist referred me to a TMJ specialist. Instead I looked on the internet and found Dr. Bills. Dr. Bills and her staff started off on the right foot by TALKING to me. Asking what was going on, explaining things that the dentist didn't bother explaining to me. Then she tapped on my teeth and sprayed water on them. The whole problem with my mouth? One tooth. The tooth that was filled 2 months prior. It would need a root canal. They didn't have any openings for 2 weeks, but since I was in pain for over a month, they made one. I don't like dentists. I especially don't like the idea of a root canal. I had never had one, I was scared to death. I told Dr. Bills that I would prefer to be put under. She disagreed, telling me it wasn't as bad as I thought and that it would cost extra and instead she could give me Valium for free (even though she thought I didn't even need that.) So I reluctantly agreed. She's the expert, right? So my parents took me in that day since I couldn't drive myself on the Valium. I was relaxed. High as a kite, really. I am not kidding ONE BIT when I say that I have had TEETH CLEANING that were more painful than Dr. Bills' ROOT CANAL. Just the tiniest prick from the needle (and really, it was the least painful needle prick I've ever felt) was the only thing I ever felt. I think I might have ever gone to sleep during part of the procedure. And thanks to the valium, I slept for 4 hours, woke up with the numbing effect worn off. The procedure was at 6:45 am, and I have not had any pain killers since. Around lunch time I ate ice cream. I nearly cried. Not in pain, though. Quite the opposite. Dr. Bills is the real deal, y'all.
