My girlfriend and I came in tonight and honestly... wow. I got the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and she got the Pesto Penne with chicken added, and both dishes were incredible. I've eaten a lot of Italian food over the years, and this was easily some of the best I've had. The Alfredo was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling heavy. The pesto penne was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. We kept trading bites because we couldn't decide which one was better. Even before the entrees came out, the salad and bread were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Nothing felt rushed or mass-produced. You can tell there is real pride behind the food here. What stood out just as much was the hospitality. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and made us feel genuinely appreciated. We had the chance to chat with the owner's mother before leaving, and that level of warmth really reflects what this restaurant is about. It's rare to find a place where every part of the meal hits, from the bread and salad all the way to the last bite of pasta,but Lorenzo's absolutely delivered. Decided to take our Mother out for Mother's Day. Slight wait due to the day it was, but was seated very quickly. The food and service were fantastic. We had Eggplant Parmesan and Cacio de Pepe. Parking is in a big shared lot, never an issue finding any. They don't take reservations here so depending on the time you come, be prepared to wait. We came on a Friday night & waited about 20minutes! Ambiance inside is lovely, nice (not working) fountain as well as paintings on the ceiling & nice vibe. Service was nice & friendly. I got the Rome which came with 3 different pastas which were fun to try. I love the pasta con sugo (sugar) because it's so unique. I also liked the mushroom ravioli. We were carb loading for the Dead Running Half Marathon, and we were so happy to stop by here. The service from everyone we interacted with was very pleasant both on the phone and in person. Last night, we had a reservation for a group of friends (6 couples). We were sat in the lower area that was ready when we arrived at 5. We ordered our meal with separate checks for each of the couples. Cassandra was our server who took our drink order and brought the beverages, gave us time to look at the menu and later she came to take our food order. Once she placed the order with the kitchen, she brought baskets of their freshly baked bread, what a treat with some olive oil! My wife ordered their bean Insalata di Lusso and I ordered the Aglio e Olio Linguine that was plenty and delicious. The busser assisting Cassandra was on top of the service, refilling iced water and tea, retrieving empty dishes and bringing more bread baskets. The service and the food were outstanding. Surprising, the checks did not have a gratuity included, which is nice for customers to write it down as we pleased. A few years ago I found this little gem. I immediately fell in love with the lobster ravioli. Unfortunately they discontinued them a few years back but they still offer plenty of other phenomenal dishes. I always buy the sauce to take home. This was my first visit to Lorenzo's even though I have driven by it many many times. We had a wonderful waiter. "Feddie" He said like Fettuccine! He gave us lots of time to contemplate what we wanted to try, he gave us some suggestions and let us taste the homemade bread -- yum. With a side of Pesto! I ordered the "Naples" tour that had spinach ravioli in a white sauce, Rotini noodles with their house marinara red sauce, and fettuccine carbonara . Each pasta and their sauces were exceptional! It came with either a choice of soups or a salad, that I upgraded with meats and cheeses and a house Italian dressing. The salad was fabulous also. My friend got a combination of stuffed pastas, a mushroom ravioli, a cheese tortellini and one other ( I forgot-but it was good!) - all in their house white sauce. The restaurant has a good amount of patrons for early on a Monday evening. The decor was pleasing and it was an average size. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I'm anxious to go back and try some of their other dishes! read more

I left this restaurant a poor review on Google due to the bad service that I received and the fact that one of their workers was being forced to work instead of taking his school exam. The reason for the review was to alert the owner of the situation, and I would have happily taken the review down once I was comfortable that the owner had seen and acknowledged my poor experience, and hopefully done right by the server who had to skip an exam to serve pasta. Instead of simply apologizing, the owner decided to post a half hearted apology and proceed to call me a liar about my experience. As if I don't have better things to do than lie about a one off experience at a restaurant that's in a city that I do not even live. So now, instead of having the review taken down, the owner has earned another bad review on a different site. When you see line forming before the restaurant opens, it's a very good sign. Service was little slow, but they had a crowd of about 30 enter all at the same time so it was understandable. Their bread basket we started with was so yummy. Perfect texture, flavor and crunch! We tried their combo pizza, which was loaded with toppings and chewy crust. The dough was thick so this was very filling. The fettuccine with chicken and broccoli was also very good. All the entrees had big portion size, so everyone had leftovers. It was odd, couldn't quite place it and the waitress said it was sprinkled nutmeg and that the spaghetti with red sauce also runs sweet as well. She said they'd had a few complaints about it before. My wife and I have returned many times since discoverimg the gem of a restaurant a few years ago. We have literally tried most things on the menu, and it is ALL excellent. My wife and I recently moved from Cape Cod and are familiar with excellent Italian food from Bostons North End and Providence, RI Federal Hill . Lorenzo's is among and sometimes clearly the best Italian food we have ever had. We recommend whole heartedly eating here and order a bottle of wine, eat the bread with olive oil or better yet order the mushrooms and sop up the 'shrooms 'n sauce! Couldn't get past the filth that surrounded me, sticky table, a menu covered in oil, the condiments all covered with grease. I was looking forward to a $37+ steak (Valentines dinner). Cheap cutlery with one single ply napkin under it. The server said "well we can give you more", "the condiments are cleaned once a week", "we've been really busy", apparently too busy to clean the place! SO DISAPPOINTED. Food was a lot worse for some reason, i come here every year and its usually really good but the sauce is different, its a lot sweeter now for some reason and the calamari came with cocktail sauce instead of the usual tomato sauce, i got the pasta bolognese and it was honestly pretty meh, it was just mashed up meatballs so the sizes of the meat varied. The restaurant is still cute and all but the service needs help, they have 1 girl working who was amazing but it has to be hard for her. First off, this review is strictly on the service. After I placed a to-go order of one dish with the host, I was told it was going to be a 15 min wait. I was waiting for 20 min when someone else approached us and asked what we were waiting for. They had obviously forgotten about us. After checking on our order, he said it would be a few more min. After another 15 min. had passed, I went to the counter to ask about our food. I was told they were swamped from a large party of 17 people that had just been seated after we placed our order and before another five parties they sat and served. Then an older women, who I assume was the owner, told me my order was ready but it needed to be put into the oven, and before that I saw her go ask the cook and I overheard him say he forgot about my order. So she came back and said my order was next. She offered a free desert but I had run out of patience and asked for a refund. We tried to support a local business but unfortunately we will not be returning. We will go to Olive Gardens as we have never been forgotten by their staff even when they are extremely busy. read more

Bummer. I lived in Las Cruces for most of my life and Lorenzos has always been one of my favorite places. I just got the tortellini for my hotel room and got it back and it is not Lorenzo's tortellini. It is some cheese tortellini. That is not what I remember. I also had that Italian wedding soup and it was not good. I got online to look at the reviews to see if everybody felt the way I do and it looks like they changed owners which explains a lot.
